Default Losing inches but not pounds?

Hi All,
I started phase one on 4/2...my husband wanted to do an extra week so this is week 3 of phase one for us. It has been going really well! We are really enjoying the food and I really like that I feel full but not stuffed and stay full! anyway, I have only lost about 5 pounds, but all of my clothes fit better, I am wearing jeans that I haven't been able to wear in months and sweaters that I stopped wearing because they had gotten too tight. Is it possible to keep loosing inches but not weight?
Thanks!

Definitely. Muscle takes up less space than fat. South Beach eating targets belly fat. There'a a picture somewhere about this.

Congratulations on your 5lb loss! Yes, it is very possible to lose inches and no weight. When I stay on-plan, it is not unusual for me to lose very little or nothing for two weeks, then my scale will drop on the third week. During those two weeks, I can really feel a difference in how my clothes feel and the measuring tape always shows a loss in inches.

Congrats on the 5lbs. On SB, those who have more to lose tend to lose a lot in PH1. Those who don't have much to lose, lose less. If your clothes are fitting better than you're definitely doing a good job. Get a tape measure for me it's a lot more encouraging than a scale that can vary on any given day depending on my salt intake, as well as, weight training schedule.
