Talking Weightloss (and Health GAIN!) Wednesday - 4/18

Hey, there, Beachies! I think the only way I make it into the daily is by cheating and starting it while all y'all are sleeping! I hope everyone has a great day today full of lots of healthy eating and activity and lots of willpower!

My goal is to get my behind in bed any minute now so that I can wake up fresh as a daisy in time for my favorite gym class. After class, I'm going to swing by the library and pick up a couple books that are there on hold for me...one of them sounds SO good! I hope to spend some time on a resume tomorrow...it's time to look for a part time job. With lots of travel ahead of us and a new car purchase last month, we need some extra income.

I got my scrapbook area in the craft room set back up and started a set of new pages after adding a couple embellishments to the old ones. I'm looking forward to doing some more...maybe tomorrow if I get the resume work done? Then I need to make dinner and then it's off to host Theology on Tap. Busy night!

So glad to hear that so many people are finding this pretty easy as long as they get their veggies in. BTW, if you are feeling hungry and you know it's been 2-4 hours since your last snack or meal, please don't ignore it! Dr. A is right that it's much easier to stave off a blood sugar drop than it is to deal with it after it happens. If you are really hungry before bed, try having a small bit of protein. If your blood sugar drops really low while you are sleeping, you may actually wake up (I have two friends that this happens to!) of if you sleep through the night, when you wake up, you could be ravenous and eat stuff you know isn't going to work well in the long run. Try to keep that blood sugar stable.

Have a great day, Beachies!

Good morning!! A very happy hump day to all.

Beachgal - Hope you had a good sleep and started your day off well.

Me - I'm on early because I'm waiting for the dryer. Silly me forgot to turn it on after I put clothes in it last night...including the pants I wanted to wear today. Coffee's brewing, and I'll wake the kids soon. Hope to have a great Wednesday.

After what I hope is a decent day at work, I plan to do another 20 minute TurboJam, serve dinner, then clean out the van and load it with as much junk out of my garage as I can. We're headed to my sister's in Garden City tomorrow evening for a 2-day garage sale Friday and Saturday. It should be a lot of fun, and I hope to get rid of all of my baby gear.

Good Morning everyone.

Beachgal- Thank you for the reminder to keep our blood sugar in check. I just love your will power dust, i feel stronger with just a sprinkle.

Jetsetter- Hope you make lots of moolah at the sale. I need to have one so bad but it does take lots of time to clean and price everything. Your clothes will smell so nice fresh from the dryer.

Here we go.......I feel better already just making this choice.

Thanks for the early start, Laurie. That sun is just brilliant!

Jetsetter, your day sounds full as usual. It's hard to fit everything into Life but you seem to manage well. By the way, do you know Paris Hilton?

Welcome! (I slay myself!) Nice to see you joining the nutcases in the Daily Chat. I'm back on Phase I and it definitely does feel good. Watch us go!

Beachgal, I remembered! I had a glass of milk at ten, went to bed and woke at seven this morning. (I've been wakening around 3 or 4 with BGL crashes although Beachgal didn't know that!)

For once, it's not raining! At my class last night, everyone was griping about the weather. I have a mini lake behind the barn, more branches are down and one of the shutters got ripped off my house and is behind the barn too! A bit of a mess to clear if it ever dries up but certainly not like the Eastern USA.

Two pet therapy sessions on the schedule today. When I did the school rounds yesterday, 3 out of 4 were locked down and I had to ring for access. The kiddies are really freaked by the shootings in VA. Good old TV! Anyhow, we are doing two school sessions today with Hershey to see if that helps them. Hershey is the most huggable dog ever! At the moment she looks like Al Gore in a curly black fur coat I'm afraid, but it works for the kids.

If the flood dries up a bit today, I may take a back garden tour. I suspect the garlic may be up and want to see what else survived the weird winter. Sometimes my chard and parsley send up new growth in Spring.

Have a super Hump Day!

Aaaagggh! I don't know what I did, but I had a nice long post going here and lost it!!!!!!! Now I don't have the time to reply to each of you individually again and have to make this quick.
Busy morning here with waiting for the computer repairguy, laundry and grocery shopping, all before picking up the girls.
The sun is shining so it HAS to be a good day!
Sorry for the quickie, but I have to run for now!

Good morning, Everyone! It looks like I'm not the only one with a busy day today.

Jetsetter - I've heard others talk about Turbojam...but I havent been able to find it at the local stores. What would you compare it to? Is it more of a dance workout?
Ruth - You have your own fresh veggies? How awesome is that!

Today is day three of my re-newed committment to this lifestyle change. I have been hungry...which I don't remember being when I was last following SB six weeks ago. Laurie, thank you for the reminder to watch the blood sugar. I'm falling into the old mindset of hunger = weight loss. I bought a new MP3 player last night...my old one seems to have grown legs and ran away!....so I'm back to the Y and the treadmill at lunch today. My goal is an hour...which I was doing 6 weeks ago. I know it probably won't be easy!

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day.

Happy Hump Day Chickies!

beachgal: I was up with late with ya last night. Just couldn't sleep! Hope you made it up in time for your gym class -- sounds great!

jetsetter: Good luck at the garage sale! Hope you get rid of everything!

Welcome: Here's some more for ya! Hope your day is wonderful!

Ruth: Yay for no more rain! I hope it dries up soon so that you can get the property cleaned up quickly! How great it is that you and Hershey can help these kiddos move on from the tragedy.

cottage: Sorry about your post, but it was nice to "see" you! You've got a busy day ahead!

Girlygirl: Good job getting to the Y! Sounds like you're doing a great job so far in your new lifestyle!

little chick & ladybug:

ME: No news on the house yet. We're now extremely anxious to hear something one way or the other. Technically, nobody has to let us know anything until the 23rd, but if things go wrong, we've only got 7 days to find an alternative. Yikes! (Now I've worried myself into a tizzy).

Well, time to get to work. Just a full day here and then packing this evening. We were up late packing last night and I was so riled up I couldn't sleep. I think I'll be in bed by 9 pm tonight! Have a great day!

Kim, is there a number you can call regarding the house? Sometimes that's all it takes to get the ball rolling again. I wish you well, and that it all works out great for you!

everyone! Wishing you all a wonderful day, and here's some for us to share.

Hey fellow beachers,
Today is a busy day for me too. All the important house cleaning I do as a sahm lol. It's bathrooms and mopping for me today urghh!!!! I hate it!!!.
Jetsetter- Good luck on your sale.
Girlygirl- I just ordered TurboJam tons of people on the fitness boards are fanatics. I couldn't find it in any stores either although someone did mention that target sold it. I ended up ordering it from ebay. The package should be arriving today. I was a bit weary about ordering it through beachbody because I read about over-charging horror stories. QVC also has a package available so you could check it out there. From what I understand its a little like Taebo but a lot funner. I'll let you know when I get it.
Today I've noticed a positive affect of SB. My skin looks a lot healthier with a little more color and I have tons of energy. Most importantly I think my hair is finally getting thicker. My hair thinned a lot after breast feeding I guess I really was depriving myself from a lot of food. Especially healthy food. How I look and more importantly how I feel is way better than any weight loss I've experienced. I'm so happy. Especially about the hair. Totally not cool at any age but more so when you're in your 20's

cottage: We're waiting on the fee appraisal. I am a little worried because I'm a government appraiser and am really worried the house won't appraise at what we offered. (If it doesn't appraise for that or over, the bank will only lend us the appraised value.) I called the appraiser Friday and know she's super busy. I can't risk bugging her about it because I need to maintain a good relationship with her for work. Sigh.

What a morning! I've been stuck on a phone call for over 3 hours so far for an outage on one of our servers. Hopefully I can get off soon. I have stuff to finish for work since I'm off the next two days and I am also wanting to get everything together for Wood Badge and start loading some of it into the car. I need to run through the presentations at least one more time too. I can do Listening to Learn pretty well but I need some practice on Communications and Aims/Method of Scouting. I have my logo, troop project, and Blue and Gold presentation stuff memorized so I'm not doing too bad.

I stayed totally OP yesterday and was back down 2 pounds yesterday. Still up from the beginning of the month but only a little.

Ruth - You're one funny lady! If I knew Paris, I wouldn't be having such a hard time finding a Sugar Daddy.

GirlyGirl - I'd compare TurboJam to nothing I've tried before. It's kickboxing, aerobics, toning, and a little dance thrown in. But most of the dance isn't choreographed, and you just kinda do your own thing. I don't think you can buy it in stores...yeah, it's one of those. I ordered mine from beachbody.com (their parent/distribution company), but you can likely find them on eBay.

Barb - Hope you were able to get all your issues resolved!

Everyone Else - Thanks for the well wishes for our sale. Anything that doesn't get sold is going to Goodwill on Saturday afternoon. I refuse to bring anything back home.

Me (again) - I'm too sore today to do a full workout. Thinking I'll hop on the elliptical after the girls are in bed, but we'll see what really happens. I did make a trip down to one of our other buildings (about a 10 minute walk from my office) in my heels...that definitely counts for something!!

Off to cook dinner. Later y'all.
