Default Me

I was a bit bored and came online to read about how all of you are getting on. i thought I would log on and give u a wee bit more info on me and what brought me to this site.

Well as I have said My names Fiona and I will 25 next week (which is scary), I live in Scotland. I was engaged about 6 years ago which I know was far too young but basically thats when I piled on my weight because I was in a comfortable relationship and no longer had to impress. I felt terrible about my weight since we split up 5 years ago but never had the motivation to do something about it. I decided at xmas this year that I really needed to do something about it so joined ww the first meeting after the New Year and so far have only lost 10.5lb which I know I could have lost a lot more by now. I still dont feel totally motivated though and I just wish I could be.

I've decided to go to the gym on a Monday and Wednesday to help me out, I find that ave not really been following the ww plan which is kind of silly but I mainly just rely on the weigh in as I know if i didn't have that I wouldn't try at all.

For a few years now my mum has been worried that I'm going to be left on the shelf lol, since I broke up with that guy i've never been in a serious relationship which worried her, it never worried me as I always thought well am just young there is plenty of times, but now I am starting to worry as 1 of my best friends is pregnant with her second child and the other one pregnant with the first so its now made me realise that the 2 friends I relied on will no longer be going out as much and are pretty settled and here I am still single.

I really need to get rid of this weight in order to get my confidence back, thats when I found this site and have really enjoyed reading how everyone else gets on with there diets and the problems that they have, it makes you feel less alone on the hard treck. Anyway thats enough for now I best go make something to eat now.

Take Care xx

Welcome! I'm fairly new here myself but everyone's friendly and supportive, hopefully we can help you along. And weekly weigh ins are a good way to stay on track (for me I'm focussing on the challenges I set myself on here), agreed.

It's good that you're losing weight for your own sake and your own confidence - that's the best motivation and you're the one who'll make yourself feel better in the long run. Losing 10 pounds and keeping it off isn't something that you should dismiss either - ok, so you might want to lose it at a faster rate but any progress is good. Good luck with everything anyway.

Oh and don't worry about settling down and having babies yet if you don't want to - 25 is young!

hi fee, firstly well done so far on your weight loss. dont worry about being left on the shelf. i was mainly single through my 20`s (through fat and thin) and i had the best time of my life. i travelled, worked abroad, partied, met lots of single friends. met my current partner at 28, had my first child 10 months later ( )
saying that i do feel more confident lighter, which is partly why im going through it all again. you reminded me when you said about your mum being worried. in my case it was my gran.she was in her 80`s and was always saying to me. "when are you going to meet a nice boy(!) and start courting.you must be in the wrong job (nurse). why dont you get a nice job in an office so you can wear nice clothes etc etc" mad

No Fee I was just being nosey! However there is a scottish and Irish connection in my family. 'Pop' (I never knew my great grandad on my father's side) was originally from North Harris and moved to Glasgow. His wife used to drive a tram!! So my Nan was born in Glasgow. Aparently great Gran was from Yorkshire (but we don't mention that - just a joke- Sarah Ann if you are reading this!!). Grandad's family were from County Sligo in Ireland but most of his family settled in Powys in Wales. I was born in kent and mum and dad were born in South London.

Ah right, my mums family are from Glasgow but moved to Ayrshire just before the children were born. I'm about 40 mins away from Glasgow.
