Red face Hi! I'm new!!!!

I truly hope I am posting in the correct place! I have been on phase 1 of SB for 4 days. It's going ok. I'm enjoying the food and all the info on this site. All the posts I've read have been so friendly and nice!

Has anyone out there tried the roasted chick peas? I made them and they are awesome, but quite addicting. What's the low down on how much you can have of these. Is the amount before or after cooking?

Thanks!!!!

I see by your posts that you are really finding your way around and know what you are doing. The Beach is a great place for ideas and support!

I made the roasted chick peas once but didn't realize that I was supposed to season them. I actually thought they were quite good plain but will try to jazz them up a little next time. Congrats on doing so well so far on Phase 1!

Welcome to SB. I tried the chickpeas b4 with garlic and with Cajun seasoning. You can season them with anything as long as it's not sugar I like it with the Cajun seasoning it reminds of Cornuts. Makes me feel like I'm cheating.

jennij-WELCOME to the beach. Sounds like you've had a good first few days. Today is P1D2 for me. I lost about 25 pounds on SBD in 2003 before my wedding. So this is my 2nd time around. It's easier than I remember. You know, I never tried those chick peas- and I LOVE chickpeas. Thanks for the tip!
Have a great day at The Beach!

Thank you all for the welcome! I have made the roasted chick peas and love them. I made them with a salt sub. and they were fine. I think I cooked them a little too long though. My one tip is.....if you have it, cook them on parchment paper. For some reason it made them roast better.

Wondering what you all think about this food: jalepeno peppers, stuffed with laughing cow, and wrapped in no carb no sugar turkey bacon. I think it's ok, just wanted to make sure. I had these pre SB at a pot luck made with all real ingredients and it was sooooo good!

Tif beautiful picture btw.

jennij! Actually, I've never made the roasted chickpeas, either, although I love chickpeas. I think I will try that recipe tomorrow, and use your idea with the parchment paper. My favorite recipe for chickpeas is to sautee chickpeas, onions and garlic in a little olive oil, then add a can of diced tomatoes to it, YUM! For me it's a meal in itself.
Your idea with the jalepeno peppers sounds delicious, just remember to limit your turkey bacon to 2 slices.

to the beach, Jennij!

Sounds like you're settling in very well! I'm so glad! The Jalepeno idea sounds delicious! When you're on P2, I wonder if you could put a strip of bacon around the middle (so you don't use the whole strip) and dunk the rest in wheat germ as a coating? That might let you use less bacon. Fun stuff!
