Don't be discouraged. Scales are evil.

My husband made me buy one about 2 weeks ago so I can track my progress. I'm thinking of putting it in my car's trunk so I don't constantly weigh myself. What a waste of $20. I think measuring and how your clothes fit is a better gage of weight loss. Besides most of the people in the book have a lot of weight to lose. Like Ruth said it depends on your starting weight. I'm in week 2 of phase 1, as well, and so far have only lost 7 pounds but I feel tons better and have a lot more energy. My beginning weight was about 225 give or take a couple.
