I am just getting started with this process and I the item I already miss most is my Budlight. Technically I know I can have it, just have to count it in my daily points or extra 35 and I would just like to know from other's who drink beer how they add it in and how much they drink and if it affects their weight loss. I'm hoping to hear some positives because I'd really like a couple Friday night!
the weekends are the worst for me, I love to go to the home town bar. I started drinking Ultra, but it's no budlight. I also drink rum and diet coke, but I hate to tell you it really affects the diet!! The liquid calories count too. You gotta have some fun, just not to much. Not that I can't have fun without drinking, but it sure helps.(ha,ha)
A 12-oz. bottle of Miller Lite is only 2 points and doesn't really darw attention to your dieting, or lack thereof. I think that's the lowest available.
As far as how it affects weight loss... I just have to be careful because beer always tastes better with food better left untouched. Thank God, I hate bratwurst!
I just got some encouraging news from a great friend who has been on ww since the first of Jan. She uses her extra 35 pts a week for beer only, she said she drinks between 12-15 beers on the weekend and she's lost 28 pounds. She works out hard and long 5 days a week and she started at 199. I would be too afraid that drinking that much would slow my weight loss down but I'm not afraid to have a few if I want.
I can tell you that I never gave up my Mich Ultra. I still have
a couple most days and still lost steady. That was one thing
that I refused to give up.
I plan for it. I drink at least 1 drink a night regularly. I use my FPs or APs for it ... I utilize my daily points to get in my 8HG / Nutritional requirements.
I also can't give up my beers. I usually have a couple during the week and 3 on the weekend. I also live in Wisconsin and we have the World's Biggest Six Pack in town...and a great brewery!
Our lives are very social and we have to enjoy our friends and outings. I'm not saying I can only enjoy then with alcohol, but I enjoy a few drinks sensibly. I also work with only men- so beer is a big part of our off hours and a stress reliever from this job! (we're probation officers )!!!

I have been saving my points to have a few beers each night. I like fourex gold (I'm in Australia! ), it is 1.5 points per can, and I have been losing weight slowly and steadily
i don't know that it is the beer itself. I mean, i can't stand lite beer. i love a good tasty microbrew and i just can't drink that other stuff. Amstel light is the best i can do. my problem is that it makes me hungry, and not for carrot sticks. it also makes me a bit more uninhibited- so I don't CARE that buffalo wings aren't the same as grilled chicken breast. And, when i overindulge- nothing helps a hangover like laying on the couch rather than exercising, and eating shrimp and grits with butter and cheese and gravy instead of FF yogurt and berries.
With that said, i just try to drink less often. My tolerance has gone down a good amount because of it, so two beers gets me a lot farther than it used to.
something that I read recently about alcohol mixed with "diet" anything. Apparently it increases the effects of alcohol somehow. (hee hee...maybe that's why I'm such a cheap date! One drink and I'm down! )
As for beer, my co-worker totally cut out beer and in a month the size of her stomach has dramatically decreased (seriously, she even call it a "beer belly"). Though she loves her beer.
