Default inches?

how many lbs do you need to loose to lose an inch of your waist and hips?
also whats the best thing to do to lose inches, say 2 inch's a month or somthing, without going cardio mad and doing loads of cardio everyday.
i eat sensibly, walk 30 mins everyday pushing the pushchair and ive started going the gym for 2 hours swimming 35-37 lengths then in the sauna for 10 mins too.
could i lose 2" a month by doing that do you think?

Its hard to say. Last autumn I read an article which said the AVERAGE woman will drop a dress size for each 10 pounds she loses. So we, here on UK 3FC, set ourselves a drop a dress size challenge for the 8 weeks leading up to Christmas. Quite a few of us joined in and it seemed to me that the 10lbs/dress size ratio seemed a bit hit or miss.

Do you weight-train? Lifting weights will give you a smaller, more toned body.

Yes, Frus is right, weight training does change body shape - more so than any other kind of exercise (JMHO!)

it seems in my experience the bigger you are the more you have to lose to drop a dress size. for me it seems to be at least 15 - 20lbs per size at the mo. as i get smaller it may change. the 10lb/dress size if applied to me would = 100lbs+ lost (hopefully) = a drop of 10 sizes. would mean i would be wearing a uk size 2/4!! last time i was around my goal weight i was a size 10.mad
