Default Hump Day Chat - March 28

It may be March but it feels and looks like April out there. It's cold this morning but I see coffee on the deck in my future. (Now where did I stash those deck chair cushions?)

My Girls escaped from the kitchen and woke me at six. They just love jumping on the bed and pawing me awake. It's a busy day so it was time to get up anyhow.

I have Donna coming to clean and four people invited for dinner this evening so am well into my day. The Bacardi rum cake is in the oven and smells just wonderful. I'd post the recipe but it's food "porn"!

Now that my computer is back in order - minor problem - I'll try to get in here more often and catch up.

Be gentle with yourself today and enjoy the coming of Spring.
(I know that's the encore smiley but it looks the way I feel in Spring!)

Default Wednesday's Chat

We had a beautiful sunrise this morning, all magenta and orange. I'm glad I was able to see it. I woke up with some sort of a thingy going on, I don't know whether it's allergies or a cold, but it's not going to ruin my day! I've waited too long for this gorgeous weather, and I refuse to stay indoors!
I have an early morning appt for a cut and color, and hope I get out of there in time to come back home for a while before picking up Maggie. I just put some chicken in the crockpot for supper, and have a load of laundry going, too. Other than that, sameold, sameold.

Ruth, glad you got your computer up and running again! Oh my, Rum Cake!!!!!!! Don't be surprised if I stop in later!

Good morning chicks!

Play hooky from school today- no real reason, I am just because I can! I plan to get the house in order as it is a wreck, read a bit, and squeeze in a nap. My mom is already picking my girls up from school today as I have bunco tonight. I may not know what to do with myself as I am ALONE until 6:30 this evening.

Ruth Yum! That sounds too delish. With the way I have been eating as of late, I would probably just dive into that cake.

Cottage Enjoy your cut and color- it always feels so good to get a fresh cut, doesn't it?

Schatzi Morning to you! How are the house plans coming along?

Sunny Morning!

Not even going to mention how my eating has been as I sound like a broken record. Today is a new day.....

What & How does one get active? Sometimes I feel like my *** is glued to the chair - great weather helps but how do you get yourself to move - at first it is forced - when does it stop being forced??? Help me understand what my brain needs in order to move!!

Because an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion stays in motion. Plain ol' physics...

Get your *** up and move and maybe you will inspire me to do the same.

oh boy Mehappy, join the slugclub. It's so easy to just say DO IT... we know we have to . One of the things that helped me (notice the past tense) was going over to the fitness forum and seeking inspiration there, and in the Goal made forums..

Hmmmm. How to get moving. I have a very sedentary lifestyle and I know how easy it is to put off exercising. I'm fortunate in that I'm not too overweight, but I can feel that I've been carrying a larger load than my bones would like.

While I started Phase 1 on Sunday, I had been mentally planning for it for 2 weeks. During those weeks I decided that it had to be a total commitment, not just what went into my mouth, but also for my whole body. So I mapped out my walking course - pretty easy actually as my office building is in a secluded area amid farms. If I walk 4 times around the building it's a mile.

So starting Monday, I began to walk as briskly as I could. I looked ridiculous I'm sure as I was huffing and puffing my way along. Tuesday was a little easier, and today easier yet. I'm still huffing and puffing though (of course smoking doesn't help with that, but I can only control one vice at a time

So I guess what I'm saying is that for me it had to be a mental and strategic plan of action. My reward for me will be seeing not only pounds, but more importantly inches come off.

to everyone

Rachel

Goodmorning! It's sunny here today as well! I am definitely getting out for another walk today, yesterday's didn't go as planned but I went out anyways. I only made 4km's, I normally do 6km's. Today I'll hit the 6km mark.

Here's my secret for walking - first, I go places I LOVE to go, where it's beautiful, peaceful, among other things.. and then, I don't think about it, I put on some music, get dressed and just leave. Another thing, I walk on a trail which makes me walk further because I never account for the walk back, heh.

Someone kick my butt please! Yesterday was NOT so good, and today isn't shaping up too well in terms of my diet. This is all thanks to my bf's bday. Yesterday I took him out for lunch (he works today), we had chinese, altho I did restrict myself, and got lots of veggies! Breakfast was on plan, dinner, I had a bit of the bf's stuffing, but nothing major. I really really want to lose 20 pounds by the middle of may, I have some MAJOR work ahead of me, but the cravings are just too much sometimes. Stupid addictive sugar.

cottage - wowsers, sun RISE? We've been having some great sunsets lately, makes you want to get that camera out! Haircut, eh? I've been meaning to do that myself. Do you do an all over colour? I want to colour my hair I think, I'm just scared I'd never get my natural colour back when it grows out. I love the colour of my hair, but HATE the grey!

Ruth - computers are a blessing, but man when stuff goes wrong.. I just run away and hide.. lol. My brother can fix computers, but getting to him is sometimes a pain. One time I got a virus and windows was corrupted or something, and my paper which was due the next day was still on it! My brother talked me thru it, and I managed to delete windows and then reinstall, and everything worked perfectly. I felt pretty powerful that day!

Well, I've managed to post away my errands time - my friend will be arriving shortly for a walk, I better get the workout clothes on! Talk to you ladies later!
