Hi marlharr!
Welcome!
I think FOUR POUNDS is GREAT!

Congratulations! That's 14,000 calories of fat...G-O-N-E!!!
To answer your question, everyone is different! For some people the weight comes off gradually in a very steady manner. For others, it is very disjointed and sporatic. A lot depends on the amount of weight that you have to lose, your age, whether you exercise, whether you are drinking enough water and eating enough fiber or whether you are eating the right amount of calories for YOU.
I have discovered that I have had to change things up as I go along. If my body gets used to any one thing, it tends to get happy at that place (PLATEAU) and just won't budge!

I had an EIGHT MONTH PLATEAU there for awhile that was making me CRAZY! I got on Fitday thanks to Robin (106 pound loss champion!), and discovered that I was eating A WHOLE LOT MORE calories than I THOUGHT I was eating. Within a few days I had broken my plateau and started losing weight again.
I also change up my exercise. I walk, I do Turbo Jam, I do step aerobics, yoga, Pilates, weights, my exercise ball for ab work, cardio, and have ordered HipHopAbs, too. I never let my body get used to ANYTHING!
Check out Fitday. It's free, and just MAY help YOU get going at a pace that feels right for you.
