Default New here and stuck on 4lbs lost!

Hi:

I've been using this website for Weight Watchers tips but never got involved in the forum. But, I need some help! I've been working on the Weight Watchers plan (30-33 points) for the last month and I've only lost 4 lbs. I can't seem to move the scale! I keep a food journal and an exercise journal just to make sure I stay within my limits. I go to Curves 6 days a week. I walk on the treadmill or use the eliptical trainer along with the Curves circuit at least 50 to 60 minutes a day. I have managed to lose 3.5 inches along with the 4 lbs but I'm still discouraged. I need to know if the 4 lbs is reasonable or am I expecting too much?

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi marlharr!

Welcome!

I think FOUR POUNDS is GREAT! Congratulations! That's 14,000 calories of fat...G-O-N-E!!!

To answer your question, everyone is different! For some people the weight comes off gradually in a very steady manner. For others, it is very disjointed and sporatic. A lot depends on the amount of weight that you have to lose, your age, whether you exercise, whether you are drinking enough water and eating enough fiber or whether you are eating the right amount of calories for YOU.

I have discovered that I have had to change things up as I go along. If my body gets used to any one thing, it tends to get happy at that place (PLATEAU) and just won't budge! I had an EIGHT MONTH PLATEAU there for awhile that was making me CRAZY! I got on Fitday thanks to Robin (106 pound loss champion!), and discovered that I was eating A WHOLE LOT MORE calories than I THOUGHT I was eating. Within a few days I had broken my plateau and started losing weight again.

I also change up my exercise. I walk, I do Turbo Jam, I do step aerobics, yoga, Pilates, weights, my exercise ball for ab work, cardio, and have ordered HipHopAbs, too. I never let my body get used to ANYTHING!

Check out Fitday. It's free, and just MAY help YOU get going at a pace that feels right for you. www.Fitday.com

Good Luck!

Hey Cheryl:

I never thought of the 14,000 calories gone! That's a great concept. I do exercise 6 days a week. I do treadmill, stationary bike, Step aerobics class, Yoga/Pilates class and weights. I guess I'm just impatient. I'll check out the website you suggested.

Thanks
