Ahhh, coffee and sunshine, a good way to start the day.
Good Morning, it's Monday! A new start to a new week! Ok, I'm not really this perky, just trying to get motivated for the day. After a lazy 3 day weekend, it's hard to get back into the swing of things again. Even though we stayed in most of the weekend and didn't have any company, I managed to stay completely OP, and my 1 lb loss is still here. I hope I have finally broken through that plateau, maybe I'll reach my March goal after all.
Audrey is on Spring Break this week, so I'll have her as my constant companion all week. We'll have to find a lot of special things to do together. I'm sure Maggie will be having a lot of meltdowns, she won't like having to go to nursery school while Audrey and I have fun. Oh well, she'll have her turn Easter week.
Good morning, Cottage. You ARE perky this morning after a relaxing weekend. I hope it's contagious!
I was up at 6 this morning so am getting back into my usual routine. The sunrise looks lovely but it's still cold at 14ºF with more snow expected later today. It is supposed to warm up to above freezing on Wednesday, very appropriate for the 21st which is supposed to be SPRING, darn it! I want to be able to have coffee on the deck!
The kitchen team come this afternoon for final measurements and decisions. I'm getting pretty excited and can hardly wait until May. Of course, I'll switch over to crabbing about the chaos then! I must take before, during and after pictures.
I have not been sticking to my planned menus lately and have been stuck at the same weight for two weeks. Grrrr! I now have the week's plan on the front of the fridge. I have a girlfriend coming for dinner Wednesday but will cook something OP for us both. There's a stash of stuff in my freezer and lots of veggies so I have no excuse for being deviant this week which is going to be a busy one.
First on the agenda this morning is to make that three bean salad I've been going to do since Friday! I am such a procrastinator!
So what's happening around your beach brolly this morning?
Hi, Ruth! I can imagine how excited you are about getting a new kitchen, I know would! Yes, please take lots of pictures during the entire process and post them so we can share your excitement, too. Thanks for reminding us that Spring is almost here!
I just finished a bowl of oatmeal with strawberries and got my lunch and supper ready to take with me. I can always eat at Cindy's, but sometimes she doesn't have many OP foods on hand, so it's easier to take my own.
It's time for me to go, so I'll check in with you all this evening. Be good!
Cottage - Way to put on a happy face. Have fun this week.
Ruth - A new kitchen will be so much fun. Stay warm today. Hopefully spring will show up sooner rather than later.
Me - Being organized has advantages. We were out the door 10 minutes early this morning!! I had time to stop and fill the gas tank on the way to work and still got here earlier than usual. I've had my morning casserole and am savoring my coffee.
I think it's about time to turn off the heat at the house. It was 76º inside when I went to bed and 72º this morning even though I had turned the thermostat down to 67º. We'll probably get another cold front through, but I'm loving this weather! Spring is definitely my season.
I have been up for about an hour now. (It is only 5:30 here in Seattle). I am starting to feel a LOT better, but I still need to be careful not to over do it.
I am going to hit the gym today after I drop my kids off at school. 25-30 minutes on the TM only! It is still too cold for me to walk in the neighborhood, but I think the TM has been calling my name anyway! LOL! I know my body is begging for exercise!
I was reading over the weekend thread, Jet you really have me motivated now to get going on cooking ahead! I am going to make some of those breakfast casseroles/ muffin things today I think and pop them in the freezer.
Ruth - I am so jealous. I want a new kitchen too! Although Hubby bought me 3 new lamps this weekend. I guess we do what we can when we can, but I am so ready to have a bigger kitchen! LOL!
Cottage - Your great attitude this morning is sure rubbing off on me! I hope we have sunshine today too. I dont mind the cold if the sun is out there!
Well, Off to make some coffee and start the kids lunches. Breakfast for me too!
I'm not a morning person myself, usually it takes a jolt of caffiene for me to go from to but I've mostly stopped drinking coffee so it takes me longer to get out of my funk.
Ruth, a new kitchen, how exciting! I'd love to redo ours, but will have to wait. What kinds of changes are you making? Please be sure to take before and after pics!
I weighed in this morning and for the first two weeks of SBD, I lost 14.6 pounds - yay me! I'm starting P2 today, so I'm sure it will slow down, but planning to exercise daily so hopefully that will help.
I soooo didn't want to get out of bed this morning! I did, however, get up in time to do my morning Bible study. The girls were super cooperative which made for a smooth morning.
Cottage WTG on staying OP over the weekend. I wish I could say the same! BTW, DH is liking is new job. It is much less stressful and it was wonderful to have him home over the weekend. The girls were just loving it!
Ruth i can't wait to see pictures! I look forward to doing some work on our kitchen at some point. We didn't upgrade a thing in our home when we built it, so there are lots of things I would love to do.
Jet Good for you for getting back on track! I am am working on that myself.
Lit That is a great Phase 1 loss!!!
Jovi Morning!
Not much time here, just wanted to get in before the day gets away from me. I have a plan for the day, now to just stick with it!! I am leaving work ON TIME today so I can get home and walk with the girls. It is going to happen.
I'm wondering if anyone remembers me! Well if not, that's okay. I'll just jump in as if you do!
Cottage: Have fun with Audrey this week! And WTG on your 1 lb loss! Good luck with your March goal!
Ruth: Sounds like you've got a lot going on in your neck of the woods! A new kitchen; I can only imagine! I hope you have fun with the process and that everything goes smoothly and isn't to annoying for you.
Jet: Wow, getting out of the house 10 minutes early would be a darn miracle for me! I love Spring, too. We're expecting at least one more freeze and then it'll be here for good. I can't wait!
JoviMom: Well you're an early riser! I hope the gym does your body good! Have a great day!
LitChick: What a loss! You're doing great, girl! I bet 14.6 lbs. is a great motivator to keep it going! Good luck as you transition into P2.
Kiko: That's the spirit! Have a great day at work and a wonderful walk with the girls!
Well, to everyone else who may post after me, have a beachin' day!
I'll try to keep it short...nobody wants to read a novel. Well, SB-wise. I've gotten off track. I gained back my weight and then some to top out at 225. I'm now back down to a steady 216 and will be starting P1 a two weeks from today. I'll be in a super-remote part of my county next week, so P1 is definitely out of the question. I'm so ready to get back to it.
I'm fitting into my new position at work well, I think, but we're still having problems with some people. I guess that's the case at all offices.
DH and I are in the process of purchasing a house. It's not the one we're renting now as we found out that she wants 20-30% over market for it and we're not willing to pay it. The house we did find is smaller, but nice and it will be OURS! We're hoping that it will be in escrow by tomorrow night. Just need a few more signatures on our contracts. Our hope is that we'll close by the middle of April so we can move right in and do the cleaning up of our current house after all the furniture's gone (lease is up April 30th).
Finally, I hurt my back about 3 weeks ago and have been given the go-ahead by my doctor to start working out again. I'm going to hop on the treadmill after work and then ride my bike for 10 minutes or so to see how that feels.
Anyways, that's what's going on with me...how are things going for you?
So far, so good today.... althought I am super hungry and not a healthy snack in sight! I am taking off here in 6 minutes, though, and am sticking to my plan to exercise this evening.
Hi Kim and welcome back. Congrats on the new home.
I've been rather busy...saturday my DH had cheerleading and tonight she gets her pics taken for dance. I take her almost everyday to the gym to workout too. We are both trying to lose weight. Yesterday we went to try on swimsuits (for her) and sad to say we could not find anything cute that a young teen would want to wear that was over a size 14. Why does the fashion world think that people who wear over a size 14 don't like cute things or want to pay more $$$$$ for clothes. I'll tell you the fashion industry is forcing us to lose weight--HA!
I wanted to work out today (of course I'm still at work so that is a problem) but my legs are so sore from the squats we did at Powerflex on Saturday that I can barely walk. My weight has been creeping up. I wonder if it is because I went off the Pill and I'm late. I know I'm not pregnant so it isn't that. My doctor said to let him know if I get 3 months late (I've had problems before where I don't ovulate) but I'm only 9 weeks late right now. I need to see my family doctor this week for a blood pressure check so I guess I could ask her. I just went off the Pill because I was clotting when donating blood and the doc thought that might not be a good thing.
So my monday motivation is to stay far far from the Girl Scout Cookies.
What was I thinking when I ordered one of each box??? This was months ago, but now I'm facing the cookies. My oh so nice coworker even opened a box of somoas to share.
So I do have a question for you ladies, when you go out to eat what do you order what do you look for? A few of you have said you are very very anti salad. So what do you go with on a cafe menu? Or ethnica menus? Whats your 'easy' meal out.
