Default Sonoma Diet - convenience foods?

Hi - I tried the Sonoma Diet before and felt great, lost some weight, etc. but got bogged down with preparing the food. I know you can have wraps for sandwiches but wondered if people could post some tips on easy quick to prepare foods/meals? Also any frozen foods you know of for Wave 1 and 2. I don't have a regular kitchen now - microwave, hotplate, roaster. I tried Jenny Craig just for the convenience but a) didn't lose weight; b) felt dragged down from all the refined carbs. I miss how good I felt on SD but want to be realistic about the time and tools I have for food preparation.

Thanks!

Welcome. The book has a list I remember of some Sonoma friendly convenince foods. One I remember are the Lean Cuisine Spa meals. I don't have the book here with me at wor tough, sorry

Wraps have been a lifesaver for me for lunches, usiing whole wheat tortillas of course. Any combination of veggies and meats can go into these with. My favorite sauce to add is a roasted red pepper eggplant sauce. I make my wraps over the weekend and then pop them in the freezer for work lunches during the week.

Since you have a hot plate, I am guessing you can cook up potfulls of brown rice, quinoa, bulgur wheat.. etc. You can make batches of these and pop portions into zip loc bags and freeze them so you don't have to cook this stuff up every night. Same thing with meat portions.. make a recipe you like, but make a big batch and freeze the rest. Summer is coming soon so the good fresh veggies will be avaiable all over soon and salads are a good standby. Can always add meat/ grains to them to make them heartier,

I am hoping you have a fridge or freezer, because I just realized you didn't list that, but I am hoping you do.

Default Thanks Linda

Thanks Linda. Yeah i have a fridge. I stupidly gutted my kitchen and then blew out my knee before I got the remodel done. I also have a crockpot so I can make the rice etc in there.

I appreciate the tips. I am ready to get back on some nonprocessed foods!
