Red face HEY everyone!!!!!!! I heard about this site from a friend SO IM NEW AT this!

hey everyone i just heard about this site from a friend ad she says it is really great so i thought i would try it, cause everythig i have been trying either i have failed and given up or i just dont see any results. I have been in a serious relation ship for almost 2 years now and when we met i weighed about 180lbs and whne we moved from michigan to new york i had gained 17lbs so i was 197. THEN i found out i was pregnant about 3 mo later and after that i started losing weight sso after that the most i ever weighed was 191 and that was about 15 hrs before my daughter was born. when i was released from the hospital i weighed 170 and now since i dont work i mostly stay home i have gained weight and i currently weigh about 186. it dosnt help when my boyfriend makes me eat. sometimes he calls home from work just to make sure if ive eaten, then even when he knows im trying to lose weight he tells me to go out and buy pies and cookies and candy and soda and all this stuff he knows i will want but i am trying to stay away from and hes telling me oh well have some have a piece its alright and in the end im too weak to tell myself no. i admit i have a food problem i eat when im bored i eat when im depressed and i eat when im happy i think the only time i dont eat is when im mad or sad and after those emotions fade i eat. Its so frustrating to be one of those people and also be one of those poeple that if i eat and dont do anything it just stays with you and it is hard to get it off and then to be with a guy that he can eat a whole elephant and not gain a pound.so i hope that joining this group and paying attention to everything i eat i will eventually get down to my target weight and maybe lower.
thanks for listing and i hope to hear your thoughts!

Hi KaylasMommy!

What a cutie you have there! Welcome! When you talked about having a boyfriend who tries to get you to eat, I sure could relate! My husband can eat TWICE TO THREE TIMES what I eat and not gain. He likes an eating buddy, so FOR YEARS I was his eating buddy! A few years ago I realized that all this eating was causing me to feel really bad about myself! I ALSO found out that he would eat ANYWAY, whether or not I was eating all that same stuff or not! From that I decided that I was using the "eating buddy" thing as a convenient excuse just to eat stuff that I shouldn't have been eating in the first place! I also realized that since I live with all guys- husband and two sons- I really had lost my feminine side. I had forgotten about girly things. Had I unconsciously tried to BE "one of the guys?!!!"

Anyway, what I'm here to tell you is that you CAN do this! You have to get your head in the right frame of mind, though. Weight loss in challenging, but if you really want this, it is yours! Good Luck!

Cheryl

You have a very good friend there, who gives great advice.
You can lose weight without changing what you eat very much. Go get yourself a free account at fitday.com and start entering your food. You'll very quickly become aware of the nutritional quality of your food and we'll help you learn how to tweak it

Your boyfriend will get on board with you sooner or later. My DH didn't really think I was serious at first either and he really didn't understand nutrition and exercise. He's learned and is my biggest fan. Your fella will get it too.

Welcome sweetheart, glad you checked out the site. Try logging what you eat for a few days in fitday.com. Just log every bite you normally eat and see how many calories you're consuming. Once you know what number you're starting with, you can figure out some ways to adjust the number of calories eaten from there. Knowing how many calories you're eating is definitely a good start to getting a handle on things. Without this knowledge, you're basically operating in a black whole and not sure what to do to get out of it.
