Default Another Newbie

I am new to this website but not to dieting. I had "dieted myself" up to 208 but I am presently 197. I know I need support in this my final weight loss journey. I have joined Curves for the exercise and I am presently using portion control-good eating for the diet. I am exploring all my diet options and I am deciding which I can stay on for the rest of my life. At this point I know maintaining will be as important as losing. That said, I am not as young as I used to be so pounds are coming off VERY VERY slowly. I am looking forward to getting to know each one of you. Jen

Hey, Jengi, I'm in Fla. too. I use calorie-counting as my food strategy.

There is a good online site called FitDay where you can keep track of goals, activity, and calories, if you are ever interested. Or you can download the program to your own computer for a fee. It's really been helpful for me to do it that way, because I had no idea how many calories a lot of foods have.

Good luck to you!

Jay

Hello

I also dieted myself up to the size I am today and whilst in my teens 7lbs would fall off overnight, now I really have to work at it. But I figure it's best earnt that way - we will keep it off this time and not diet ourselves back up and beyond.

Good luck
Caroline

Hi just finally had time to finish the March Issue of Oprah and found this site. I really got to loose 52 lbs. I also have been dieting my entire 52 years. I still have the baby weight 17 years later.! Hopeing that talking and meeting others will give me the encouragement to do it this time for ME!

Thanks for the warm welcomes. This really is a big site. I just keep looking and finding more. Thank you Jay for the info on Fitday. I'll be going to that site as soon as I finish this. Jen
