Default 30 Something Chat: Friday Mar 2

Hi everyone,

Hi ladyjo, I'm replying from your "Good morning" thread. Good luck with your midterm today! I've heard that sugars are helpful with studying - some recommend a bottle of orange juice to get that concentrated hit. Seems like quite the balancing act with school and family.

So I woke up early (5:30 am) and am debating whether to go gym at 6 am, or to bikram's yoga at 7 am or to try to go back to sleep.

Yesterday was good in the sense that I didn't eat after 7 pm. I made modified tostados by heating a 8" whole wheat tortilla on a pan sprayed with Pam. Then I topped it with refried beans, avocado, fresh homemade salsa and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. But I ended up eating too many - 4 of them. I felt overly full for the rest of the night. I was tired so I think that ate more than I would normally eat. No exercise yesterday but I'm trying to alternate days right now.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Cheers,
Allison

Newbie Here,
Looking for a little accountablilty and some good friends. I managed to work out this morning despite the fact that I went to bed a little late. So needless to say, I am feeling pretty good. Now I just need to keep the eating under control. Great day to everyone.

Hello All!
Happy March!
I am a newbie just looking for some motivation and conspiratorial inpsiration. Lol. I have lost maybe 25lbs in the past year, although I've no idea what I weigh. I have a fear of the scale. I know I was a solid size 16 last February and now wear a size 12 jean. I have gotten to this point once in my adult life, but this time through exercising and just tweaking my diet a little with vegetables and fruits.
My trouble? I am a TERRIBLE cook. AWFUL. Really. You haven't seen the likes of. Guaranteed. I'm hoping to get some great recipe ideas from here as well.
Anyways. Good luck to all!

Hello All!

Wow ~ so many newbies! Best of luck to all of you!!

Dulce Duck ~ very good on not eating after 7:00 p.m. That is easier for me to do during the week than on the weekend.

No rain on this end. Sun is shining but it is unbelievably windy out. People's trash cans are all blowing all over the place.

I didn't get my exercise in this morning (why is it so much harder for me to get up at 5:00 vs. 6:00, which is my usual time???). So, after dropping the kids off at school I decided to walk the mall. I prefer walking outside but just didn't want to battle the wind.

Hope that everyone has a good, healthy weekend ~ Joan

Hi All,

I think the rain stopped and it's cleared up a bit here.

Green, Congrats on the loss...whatever it is! I'm not a very good cook either, but I try to be as creative as possible without burning the house down! I have to follow recipes to the letter.

Lovemacon, Good for you getting up to exercise!

hey all...welcome newbie!
sorry i've been mia for a few days. ...still in the process of moving...and since it was predicted to be terrible weather thrus pm, we moved the computers wed pm when it was clear/no rain...but there's no internet hookup until today. As for me doing pretty well but had a nasty work incident today. It;s been a while...but today i got bite by a patient. Had to get 4 sutures in my right pinkie finger, went down to the bone...so typing with a big bandage on my finger is very difficult and frustrating. It hurts a bit...but oh well...hazards of the job LOL. We'll see how it feels after the lidocane wears off LMAO. and i got the joys of waiting 3 hrs in the e/r since there were several car accidents. i wanted to just place some skin glue in it and call it a day...but i knew i had to get it checked out LOL. Even got a nice lil tetnus shot...yeah! So that will make for fun tommorow when we have to finish moving. Good excuse to let my hubby do the work LOL. Well hope everyone is well. bye all

GG, I am sitting here reading and holding my pinkies. Oww I agree let your DH do the movin' and ask him if he has any big guy friends to help too.

Welcome to the new people. I am sure that you will find the encouragement and support that you need here. All you have to do is ask and we will !

Hello everyone!!

to all of the newbies!! We are glad to have you here. Feel free to jump right in and gab away.

I went to the doctor yesterday to get in with a new practice. Of course he said I need to lose weight. He did bloodwork and everything. I am using it as a kick in the hiney. I did better eating today. I have to go back in two weeks to follow-up.

GG: OUCH!!! OMGoodness. The bite sounds painful enough but those darn tetanus shots hurt so dang much the next day. I would definitely make hubby do the moving tomorrow. You deserve a rest.

Hope y'all are having an awesome Friday night!
