Default Fat Chicken

Hi there forum members. I'm so pleased to stumble upon this forum! I hope nothing got broken in my wake...

Now, I wouldn't normally mention the state of my body while introducing myself to new friends (though much would be apparent as I manage to block out the surrounding sunlight).

But here it seems obligatory to state your lumps and bumps. I'm in need of extensive support, you see....a permanent full body wrap (galvanised) might help!

So, briefly - I've been a large girl all of my life, never really attempted much weight loss previously. However, I was rushed to hospital recently with a deep vein thrombosis - fortunately I lived, but it's scary stuff, eh.

I've been told I need to trim 4 stone from my supermodel physique. I told them I'd never work in Milan again, but they say my health is more important and Donnatella will just have to weight...oops, I mean wait.

I've lost a stone this past month, but nobody's noticed this yet ~sniff~

See you as I manoeuvre around this site with the elegance of a ballet dancer (that's inspired by Dawn French!).

Welcome, love your sense of humor. This is a great place to be. Do you have any specific food or exercise plan?
I keep track of my weight, food, exercise and journal on fitday.com. It's a great tool to get you started. Hope to hear from you again.

Hi sharonrr - pleased to meet you.

I'm currently under a nutritionist (I've heard suffocating people burns calories!)

Seriously...I've been given some excellent advice from the hospital, plus plenty of well meaning - yet inconsistant - tips from relatives and friends, who want to celebrate my 30th birthday this year...with me there.

I'm eating very sensibly, just cutting out the chocolate, crisps, cakes, white refined food. Eating more unprocessed foods and taking smaller portions, but more frequently. I'm doing 30 minutes of step aerobics 3-4 times a week and just started this week with dumbells, trying to keep that lean muscle going.

I'm reading lots about people who have trimmed down - I find success stories really motivating.

Thanks for the fitday.com link...I'll be checking that out.

Hey Peach,

No need to feel shy with us--we all have the same issue here! Congratulations on losing that stone (14 pounds). People will start to notice, but depending on where you begin, it may take more weight. Only recently did someone ask me if I had lost weight. Oh well.

Welcome!!!!
