Default New Here...Second Posting, Nervous :)

Hi!
I'm just sort of getting used to how this forum is set up, so I am now posting an introduction here as well as my question about OA.
I have battled with compulsive and disordered eating for almost my enitre life and i am getting FED UP!!!
The last few months have been badbabdbad-binging on a nightly basis, and for the last few days, most of the day as well. Sigh. I think that I am coming to a place in my life where I feel like I want to make a change and so my negative habits are becoming worse in an attempt to self sabatoge. Does anyone else out there expierience this?
I am really happy to see what a diverse, supportive and welcoming space this is-thanks!!!

!!! I just want to welcome you and let you know that you've come to a great place I hope you find it so! As for your question, I think I have done that in the past. I wanted to stop bingeing so I would say, okay this is my last binge and go all out, binge enormously and then I would it again, and again, and again... I'm not sure if this is what you mean? It is hard, I know good for you for wanting to change your habits though. That's the first step It's definitely possible, we just have to find our way

keepon,

One time, I weighed myself at the doctor's office and found out that I was about 5 pounds less than my goal weight...and then I went home and binged. I still don't really know why. I mean, it was good news, and should technically have inspired me to keep up the good work.

What has helped me in the past is refusing to procrastinate. For instance, instead of waiting for the next day to start a new lifestyle or to start over, I do it immediatly. Even if it's been a really crappy day, I write everything I've eaten down, scribble it out and rip the paper up. Once it's in the garbage, my fresh start begins.

You might want to think about why you feel you have to go crazy before you start anything new. Is your diet unreasonable or too restrictive? Are you afraid that you're going to miss all of your favorite foods?

Good luck!
