Default Dinner at 17:30 ?!

Hi

I think that one of my problems with keeping on my diet is my work place's meals time....
we eat launch at 12:00 and than dinner at 17:30 !!!
17:30 ?!?!?!?!?!?!
At 20:00 i'm deadly hungry and can't hold myself... therefore I'm eating 2 dinners in one day !!

Does any of you have the same problem ? What can I do ?
Is it good to eat 3 big meals a day or is it better to seperate it into many small meals ?

Are you eating enough at dinner? Are you getting enough protein to to keep you satisfied. I know a lot of people here will just have a snack later in the evening. I prefer not to do the evening snack thing, so I have a filling dinner around 6 PM, and don't get hungry before bed (11:30 PM or so). If you're making the time between 12 and 17:30 ok (5 1/2 hours) but not between 17:30 and 20:00 (2 1/2 hours), you may want to look at what you're eating at each meal, and if the 20:00 hunger is truly hunger or just your mind feeling like you want to eat something. If true hunger and you don't see a problem with your dinner, you may consider the healthy snack option (e.g. a piece of fruit, small bowl of cereal, etc.)

Everyone is different when it comes to this...I personally am a grazer, meaning that I would rather have 3 smaller meals and a couple snacks, then have 2-3 large meals each day.

What I would recommend, is maybe separating your one big dinner, into a smaller dinner, and a substantial snack. Make sure the snack has both protein and carbs, so that it will satisfy you longer. (Cheese and crackers, peanut butter and an apple, etc.)

Personally, I'm just the opposite!! I cant stand having food after 7:30pm, it drives my blood sugars off the charts!

At any rate though, I cant have dinner at 5:30pm, cause hubby doesnt get home till 6 or 6:30! And by the time we decide on *anything* and make it up and sit down to eat, its after 8pm. Drives me bonkers!! Everyone is different though!

I'd say definitely get some more protein or slightly increase your portions of the good foods you have with dinner (broccoli or other veg/larger chicken breasts) what have you

I typically eat 4 meals and 1-2 snacks a day. Like many dh doesnt get home in time for us to eat dinner until late. I just dont make it

I have breakfast ~6:30, sometimes a small morning snack, lunch ~12:30, and the either 2 afternoon snacks (at ~2 and 4:30) or another small meal at ~4:30 and dinner at 7

Default Trying to make a change

I'm trying to take food at 17:30 but to keep it aside and eat it only at 19:30 (Sandwiches and stuff like that...) I wonder if it will be helpful...
