Smile Hello! New Mama from California ~~~~

Hello everyone! I am new here this is my first post! I am a mother of two wonderful kids! My children are two and three. I am also a widow of about 2 and a half years. My whole world came crashing down on me the day God needed my husband. I had my daughter right after, and from then on I put weight on like noboby's business. I am now 285 pounds, OMG I have come to the realization that my weight is a problem, for me and my health. I have had an unreal self image of my self, I only look in mirrors from the chest up. I kept thinking that oh I am not gaining weight, until my fat clothes turned into my regular clothes, and the sizes keep getting bigger.

I am hoping that this will be a good resource for me to get into better health! Thank you for taking the time to read and have a great day!

Hi Mama.

I, too, have been widowed. I was under 30 at the time in 1980. My kids were older than yours. I know your struggle. In fact, my baby turned 32 yesterday. I won't tell you it gets better. While I've remarried, I go into a "funk" from Mother's Day to the middle of June. I put Linc in the hospital the day after Mother's Day and he passed away 3 weeks later. He was an answer to a prayer for me.

Let me tell you about some of the things you'll find here.

The people on this board are more than willing to help you. There are many different plans that people follow. I haven't completely decided on a plan yet. However, it doesn't stop me from asking questions and getting very thoughtful answers.

There is tremendous support on here. You can ask for advice for anything from a hang nail to weight loss surgery and anything in between.

I don't have as much to lose as some of the others, but they are very gracious in sharing their thoughts and ideas if I have a question.

People on here love to laugh. You'll find that out while reading the threads.

I'm not sure how many "roosters" we have on here. I know of at least 2. Maybe someone will tell us both in subsequent posts.

Again, welcome new chickie.

I do work full time, and my kids are in daycare. thanks so much for you comment

GatorGal, thanks for your comment I hope to see you around here!

CBmare, I am also sorry for your loss. I also get into a funk around the time of my husband death. He was everything I needed, and nothing I expected. I miss him so much! Thank you for your support!
