Last night I was in SuperWalmart and I was buying pies. Not one but 2. But it was in my dream. Have any on you ever experienced this? I got up and had by cereal & banana.
I have definitely had dreams of food. When I do dream about food it's more of a nightmare. I dream of eating tons of junk food and dream that I'm still obese or have gained back all the weight that I lost. I wake up panicky and feeling my stomach to see if I'm obese again.
I had a great dream a few months ago. I dreamed I was in a room and all the walls were made out of sugar cookies, I was happily eating the walls in my dream. Sugar cookies aren't even my favorite cookie!
I have had a couple of dreams where I am in pastry bakeries, alone, and I just stare endlessly transfixed by the cookies and cakes and lovely smell. But I never eat anything......and it the one and only time and place where I can have anything I want!!!
I also had a dream last week where there were endless boxes of finger cakes in my house in different flavors (like little oreo cakes) and I just ate and ate them.........and then I felt horribly, horribly guilty and fought back urges of purging.
I almost always have food dreams when I am dieting. And usually its for foods I DONT normally struggle with. For some reasons donuts are usually involved.
I always figure its the body fighting to hold on to the weight
I do dream about food. Some people dream about encouters with the opposite sex; I dream about food. In my most recent food dream, I was eating those cookies with the m & m's in them...dream cookies are so delicious. At least it's a way to enjoy eating without the calories.
If a dream leads to a craving, I'll wait at least one day. Either the craving goes away or I decide that I want the item badly enough that I'll get it (in moderation of course).
When I have dreams about food it's usually me binging or around a lot of food.
One time I dreamed about a very obese guy at an eating contest...He was eating slice after slice of cake a few feet high. He asked me if I wanted some but I said no.
I had a dream in a warehouse sized chinese buffet. I wanted to stop to eat some food, but I was running away from something and couldn't stop.
And one time I walked into the kitchen and my sister told me to eat. So I ate something in the fridge, then binged on everything.
When I was about 14, my mom randomly bought a lot of bologna, because as a 6-8 year old I really liked it and hadn't had it since about that time. I have always felt really bad/guilty when food goes to waste in my house, but I had one slice of it and thought I was going to be sick...That night, I had a nightmare that I was running around my house and neighborhood...just begging someone to take all this bologna off my hands.
I have had one about banana taffy. This was years ago when I was going thru a phase...had to have my banana taffy, those little squares. I think I had so much I dreamt about it, lol! I won't tell you about the dream though, lol. My DD has had dreams about fries and ice cream. We share our funny and weird dreams, lol.
Has anyone ever had a dream about food?
At least it's a way to enjoy eating without the calories.
