Default yo yos should be toys, not people....or hello, i'm new here but not to dieting... :)

i've lurked on this site in the past (great for ww points info in a pinch) but never posted. seems like as good a time as any to change that.

my weight loss journey started january of 2004. i've never been a thin girl, but after adding the freshman 45 to my frame (i've always been an overacheiver ) i felt very uncomfortrable in my skin. after a particularly disasterous shopping episode and the date for my wedding drawing nearer and nearer, i decided to try my first diet. i lost about 10 lbs by starving, then ten more from the flu before my mom got worried. she introduced me to weight watchers. i went from 189 to 163 in about six months. by december 2004 i was down to 145, exersizing regularly, and feeling healthy for the first time in my life.

since then, i've fluctuated more than maintained. summer 2006 was my longest stint at 145 and it only lasted five months. i'll get into the swing of a healthy lifestyle, get comfortrable, then lose my edge. soon one chicken strip doesn't seem so bad, and a side of fries won't kill me, can't deprive myself after all, it will just make the temptations more tempting.....next thing i know, i'm eating three pints of icecream in a sitting and 20 lbs up from where i was 3 months before. i'm currently on a three pints upswing and sick of it. enough is enough. i want my jeans to fit again!

i'm really looking forward to exploring this site and finding inspiration in you all. thanks for listening!

Hi and welcome! Shopping can be a real slap in the face when we aren't at our comfortable weight. I bet most of us have dealt with that. Keep at it and you can go on a spree when you get to your goal. I've had my ups and downs too. And like you, this last upswing seemed to keep on going and I really had trouble putting on the brakes. I'm not buying anymore more clothes until I can buy smaller sizes. We're in it together. Best of luck!

Welcome!

Settle in and find a spot that feels right to you. I look forward to hearing more from you! We have a thriving WW forum if you're going that route again, or other forums for just about anything you can think of.

Yeah, shopping can be bad. Ever gone to a store and tried something on and they have those "skinny" mirrors and then you go home with your new treasure and go to model it for your DH and you actually look like a melon in the outfit? Needless to say it's happened to me!

Welcome!

Those skinny mirrors are evil. EEEEEEEEEEEVIL! You get something you think is cute, then put it on at home and go "o_o"

Anyway, I digress.

There are tons of different support groups around here, and I'm sure you'll find somewhere you fit in perfectly!

I hope to see more posts from you!
