Default Super Bowl Snacks

Hmmmm I just tried to post this a minute ago but I don't think it worked (I'm new to this whole forum thing!)

Anyway - Anyone else worried about the Super Bowl?
I am going to a party where I know everyone will be eating junk and drinking beer all afternoon. I am planning on bringing a veggie platter and maybe some popcorn...
Anyone have any ideas of some healthy/tasty snacks to bring?

What are you all doing for the game?
Go Bears! (actually... I don't care about this game too much. I'm a Charger fan )

My boys would run me out of town if I brought vegetables to their Super Bowl party. I am making baked vegetable samosas with whole wheat crust. They'll never know it's good for them! Bwahaha.

I plan to just have a couple Coors Light and a few snacks. If I can't have a few fun days, well, then, what's the point?

Yeah, I'm with silver_plum here... if I tried to bring veggies, I'd never hear the end of it. But I'm glad that that is an option for you, and I'd also like to suggest those Lays Light chips (formerly called Wow chips). They're very good, and they make them in Doritos variety, restaurant-style corn chips, and regular potato chips. Great to satisfy munchies with MUCH fewer calories and fat.

Hope that helps!

I am going to a bar, which I think is a good idea. Last year I went to someone's apartment and ate like there was no tomorrow. Anything i eat I have to order, and I looked at the bar menu and they have salads. Plus, I am not a beer drinker so I am not as tempted to drink.

Here's what I'm bringing:

Baked Potato Skins

Vegetarian Chili

Veggie Tray with Nonfat Yogurt Dip

I don't really care if the boys eat it or not...it's for me after all!

I like the idea of a vegetable tray but that is just me.
Baked tortilla chips with salsa.
You could make a bean dip by layering ff refried beans, ff sour cream and taco seasoning, 2% cheese, and lettuce.
You could also make a cheese dip using velveta 2% and salsa

A fruit tray is not a bad idea either.

Yeah, we have a TV party every Sunday at my house for one of our Fav shows & we bought a fruit tray at Kroger this past week, and oh wow..it was delicious! Especially the strawberries. yum!

It had strawberries, grapes, honeydew, and cantalope(sp?). Plus it had this cream cheese dip, but I didn't have any of that. Figured it would be too fattening.

Thanks for all the ideas guys!
I think I will bring some baked chips and then some kind of fruit salad.
And I hope the boys don't eat the veggies.. more for me

Now I just have to make sure to lay off the beer...

My advice is bring what you want to eat. God forbid if there is nothing else healthy at your superbowl party at least you have what you brought.

I guess I'm lucky that a--I'm not a football fan and b--I still have to be at work at 5 am on Monday morning. Thus I'll be in bed by 8 pm.

However, if I was hitting a Super Bowl party, I would do the Morningstar farm buffalo wings. They have the spiciness of buffalo wings, and trust me guys can be tricked into eating them even though they're soy. Serve 'em up with a little fat free ranch dressing and it's like eating the real thing.
