Since ive been back on the site.. It says my last visit is 08-17-2005. I did get close to my goal weight i had set. I went from a size 20 to a size 8. I still have issues I want to work on for the spring/bikini season. I want to tone my arms, work on my stomach/abs, and tone my thighs.
Lets just say I received my Victoria Secrets catalog today. I really want the Juicy Couture Bikini!!!!!!
I also stopped watching what I eat so I want to get back into eatting healthy..drinking more water, etc.
I have lost the motivation and I need to get it back..
I have a treadmill, eliptical machine, and tons of weights & workout dvds in the basement. My New Years Resolution was to put them to use.. I have not done that yet.!!!
SO I would like advice on what i can do to get back on track.. also if anyone has a good workout plan or weight plan to help with my goals by end of march/beginning April. I appreciate it.
As per my previous response to you...we'd appreciate more time to respond before being called unsupportive!
As for how you can motivate yourself to get back on track, I think the best advice is just to -do- it. When I was re-motivating myself to fitness, I had a chart on the wall that tracked the number of times I did cardio, arms, legs, abs, and followed my food plan with different stickers, then set goals for the number of times I wanted those stickers to be on the calendar (example - 10 arm workouts, 5 leg workouts, 25 ab workouts, 25 cardio workouts, and 28 on-plan food days). If I met my calendar goals for the month, I got a mani/pedi. It worked REALLY well and now fitness is a habit that happens automatically for me.
Try to give yourself little rewards that are meaningful to you...maybe $10 for every on-plan month to go toward your bikini!
One more note - sometimes more specific thread titles help get you faster responses. For example "I need motivation" is a very common thread title...you might get faster responses with "Advice on my fitness routine" or "Need Help Getting Back on Track"...both are more specific and can help people who have really good, relevant advice find your post and provide you with information.
I second mandalinn. Don't get so jumpy.......this can be a slow board and more than 3hrs is needed for a good deal of replies. sheesh.
Also, I don't think anyone can really offer you any better advice than yourself. You said you lost it once....why not try another version of your previous diet/exercise plan.
I don't know your body type, eating plan, exercise routine or amount of weight you are looking to lose........so there isn't much that I can help with. You didn't give us alot to work with.
I suggest that you use your equipment for exercise, eat less and clean, and use the bikini for motivation.
As has been said...if you did it once - and size 20 to size 8 is pretty significant, after all! - just...do it again!
There are lots of specific food plans out there, like the new You on a Diet thing, and old standbys like South Beach and all that sort of stuff. Plenty of people talking about them in the food subfolders. Exercise, same thing goes. If you've got the equipment, use it! A mixture of cardio with weights, particularly if you're wanting to tone a particular area, is best.
And if you're after that one bikini, use it as your motivation! Tape pictures of it up all over the place, on the fridge and in the kitchen, in the bathroom where you'll see it when you brush your teeth, on or near your exercise stuff, next to your computer, everywhere.
Also, check for other threads on rewarding ourselves and motivation in this folder. There's plenty there, as well as in the main Support folder.
In the future, please try to be patient. Three hours isn't a lot of time, and not everyone who reads your thread will necessarily have something to contribute. Relax, okay?
