Red face First registered in 2001....hey, at least I'm back!

Oh my! I stepped on the scale this morning and almost had a heart attack. I weighed 172. I have never weighed more than 164 (and that was pregnant.) How was I deceiving myself lately?

I've gained 12 lbs just these past 6 months.

I first registered at this site in March 2001. I had in my profile my start weight at 152, current at 145, and goal as 130. Well, I did reach that goal, btw. I was 130 for my 20th class reunion that summer of '01.

And now I'm 172....you all know the story.

Sooooooooooooo......I found this site again, and even my old username. I got Fitday going again, put in my picture, was honest about all my numbers, got a tracker (how cool is that) and I'm riproaring to go!!!

Now to find a "home" on this site. I'm thinking calorie counting is the way for me to go this time. Oh, I did WW for that other weight loss, and though I've gone back a few times, I've never had it in me to do again.

WOW!!!! It is a small world!!! I too haven't been on 3FC since March of 2001 and TODAY i found this site again AND got my old username and password! It must be a sign of good things to come!

As with most of us, i have been up/down and everywhere in between. I had a baby in July and now really feel determined to kick this once and for all. Sadly, i am not at my heaviest right now, but I need to get moving and not waste any more time.

My mom passed away last week and i need to throw myself into this full on or else i am afraid that i will go the other way and eat for comfort as I am trying really hard to deal with the pain of losing her.

I really can't muster up the energy to do WW or anything organized so i am hoping that i can begin by just eating healthy foods and doing exercise (geez...there's an idea!). Maybe just not buy the bad stuff and if i only have good things around then I'll have no other option. Its the exercising that i have the real problems with.

I am glad you are back and let me know where you park yourself!

Welcome back, both of you. There are a lot of us old-timers still around. Alright, your profile says you actually registered here in August 2000, so you are an oldie but goodie!

Calorie counting and exercise is what worked for me, so I think you're both on the right track.

You can do it!!!

Default Small World

G,day everyone I am an oldie too, I have been coming to this site off and on for about 4yrs, same old story a YO YO DIETER from way back. I am in Australia I live in a small country town with about 1400 people. I started calorie counting and my job involves a lot of lifting and moving so I have lost 3kgs just over about 6lb in the last 2wks. About 6mths ago I weighed 92kgs WOW thats a shocker in print anyway I got down to 75kgs but then I had to come to Sydney for work and my hubby is still in the country so we are about 5hrs away from each other and as a result due to comfort eating I have gained 10kgs back. So I am looking for motivation as well as giving it. I have met some lovely ladies here in the past and am looking forward to making some new friends here. I know with each others help we can and will get there BYE FOR NOW BLESSED BE.. JULIE From downunder.

Welcome Back!

Today I officially started. I created an Excel spreadsheet to track my eating and i am tracking calories, fat, fiber and carbs. I plan to stick to 1300-1500 calories/35-40g of fat/atleast 25g of fiber/ and <200g of carbs per day. I hope that is a good way to go. I kind of made up the #s myself based on what i researched so I hope its ok. I entered everything that has passed my lips today and entered in everything that i plan to have for the rest of the day, including 4oz red wine.

I plan to start moving this weekend. Even if its just cleaning and shopping. I just want to be out in the fresh air and moving. Not vegging out. Then my "theory" is that on Monday i will start going to our mini gym in our complex at 6am before getting ready for work. I am trying not to move too quickly so that i don't get overwhelmed and give up.

I feel strangely optimistic this time around. I don't feel any real pressure by doing it this way. Maybe it has to do with being a new mom and missing my own Mom and wanting to be healthy for my baby girl. I know that they say you shouldn't lose weight for anyone but yourself, but wanting to be healthy for your baby is a good thing!

So lets Do it Ladies!
