Talking Welcome

cagee to 3fc's

I wish you all the luck in the world with your weightloss , just remeber there is always someone here to talk to you or help support you if your feeling the strain or are finding somethign particully difficult , we all have different experiances with weightloss so were all here to give your our opinions and hopefully make you feel more at ease with the task ahead.

I have 6 stone + to lose due to fertility treatment although i may not need it in the end as it may happen naturally on the way. I started at 20st 11lb's and im now at 19st exactly in just over 4 months , at first i just started on a low fat diet and was on Xenical tablets (weightloss tablets) and then i joined rosemary conley and started taking reductil (weightloss tablets) after christmas , going to rosemary conley has futhur improved my diet and i also get exercise included in the class price which is brilliant a lot more of an advantage than slimming world or weight watchers , I am down 25lbs already and i am so happy. Please just dont give up if your having a tough day as the results are worth so much to your well being as well as you mind and every lb you lose is a bonus.

Take care and all the luck in the world.

Hi cagee
Well done on your commitment to get healthy for 2007! I know it's daunting when you have quite a bit to lose but my advice to you is this ....

don't look at the big picture - set small goals and don't look beyond. Be like a hurdler ... think ONCE about the length of the race then set your sights on the first hurdle and no further. Once you've leapt that hurdle then onto the next.

Think of a variety of goals ... not just weight. Dress sizes, certain barriers (getting below 250 for example), exercise goals etc. Soon, the weight lost will be stacking up behind you.

Break the amount of weight you need to lose into 'chunks' ... eg divide it into 10. It's easier to think of losing 10lb ten times than trying to get your head around losing 100lb.

It's all a matter of doing the head-work. Keeping on top of those demons that keep telling you that you can't do it. I've lost 111lb so far since March 2006 ... this last leg is tough because it's easy to get complacent so now is when I have to get tough and see it through.

When I look at my 'before' pics now, I can hardly believe that was me less than a year ago (check my link below if you want to). Stick to your guns cagee and you'll see a whole new 'you' emerge sooner than you think.

Debbie

Hi Cagee,

Welcome! I'm new here as well.

I'm starting tomorrow too! I actually started on the first of Jan and did ok for the first week - but have just been awful this weekend and eaten all the rubbish under the sun. Usually I would just give up at this point - but I'm determined that 2007 is going to be the year so I'm having a fresh start tomorrow.

I'd be interested to hear what diet plan you're following. We're roughly the same weight and it would be good to hear how you're getting on and what's working for you.

Wishing you lots of success!
Mary

Debbie - your pictures are amazing! I'm going to come back and look at them when I'm in need of some inspiration!

Hiya and welcome!

I understand very well that the amount that you want to lose may seem daunting....... but I want you to know that it is totally possible and that YOU CAN DO IT! It probably won't all go away in a year....but keep with it and it will all come off eventually.

I wish you all the best!

Good tip NYDaz!
Plenty of H2O helps things along. Gives you clear skin and sparkly eyes - as well as keeping you hydrated and helping to flush your system.

I try to drink at least 2 - 3 litres a day.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful tips, I am going to break down the amount I have to lose into small amounts, 1/2 stone at a time. (And not think that there are many 1/2 stones to go.. hee hee)
Hi Mary,
I am doing slimming world. but not going to class. I think it would be really good to keep in touch about how we are doing I would certainly find that really motivating .
Good luck everyone and thanks again for all the help.
