Week 1, Day 5 (Motivation: High)

I wanted to get a quick posting up before running to work. Motivation is back to "high" today, but I haven't been on the scale yet. So, we'll see how motivated I am when I post tomorrow.

Becky - DW and I are looking at a Trimline T325. It's a folding treadmill (a definite requirement for us) from a decent brand. Never bought or owned a treadmill, so I'm going on advice from friends and sales staff, but it's affordable (not cheap, just affordable ).

Lisa - Yep, I've gotten that bit of advice from more than one person. I felt really good all day yesterday, so we'll see how things pan out today. I will definitely be mentioning it to the doctor when I see him next week given that there is a DEFINITE history of diabetes in my family.

Anyways folks, I'm running behind already. Wish I had time to write more, but I gotta get my buns into the shower. More tomorrow, I hope.

Stay strong and stay on program.

Morning all!!!

Well, I got some really good news this morning when I hopped on the scale!! I"m down 1.5 lbs... although, after the 3 glasses of wine I had last night...we'll see how this weekend goes. I'm trying to ease back into WW and into the "lifestyle" rather than the "diet".

RX - Thnx for the info on the treadmill. DH and I are also going to look at some of teh used sports equipment stores in our area.

My motivation is pretty high today. I walked into work and the first thing a co-worker says is we're ordering from Picolla's today.... now this place has the MOST fabulous steak and cheese sandwiches... but I held strong and am sticking to my healthy left-overs.

Welcome to those newer than me. I am finding this group to be real suppotive and full of great information and help!!

Thanks to all of you.

I"ll check back in later.

~Becky.

Morning all! Yep! I am here, and that means that I actually did my workout this AM! I did one of my Turbo Jam DVD's-48 min of Kick, punch and Jam. When I popped it in, I thought...If I can do atleast 1/2 of it, It will count, but then I got so into it, it was over before I realized I had done more than 1/2!

Becky~ to you on the lbs lost!! Also, good for you on sticking to your plan of the healthy leftovers, you will definately feel better for it.

RX~Go get 'em while the motivation is up!

Lauren~I hope that you can get some rest sometime today. How is DH feeling today? Did the insurance adjuster come through for you? Hope that today is better than yesterday.

Holy~Just how cold does it get in fairfield, CA? I am not sure where that even is. We are having an unbelievable winter here, not really winter at all. Today they are saying it could reach 50 and that is just mind boggling because it is usually 20 below 0 overnight here in January. We are supposed to get our regular winter weather back in the area next week, calling for lake effect snows, but I can't complain because it is long overdue. Our christmas was green this year, which is extremely rare and it really did not feel like christmas without snow. So, I guess I will be glad to see it again, atleast for a little while.

Well, I hope everyone has a great day!!

Mornin' troops! Thank goodness it's Friday!!!

Looks like we've got alot of Newbies....Awesome! I agree with RX--the more you get involved, the more support you'll receive. I, unfortunately, usually end up "lurking" more than posting --- simply because of my crazy schedule. Either way, I will certainly provide as much support as I can; provided that you understand that I need alot, too!!

I have hit a plateau, so I'm trying to step up on my exercise. Haven't really seen results yet; however, I did lose a pound over the holidays! I was afraid I had gained! So--I'll take it!!

Big hugs to all....and stay focused!
Fondly,
Fit

Has anyone tried any of Denise Austin's DVD work outs? I ordered her boot camp yesterday, as well as the Personal Training System DVD... They are supposed to ship today. I can't wait to get them and start my exercise... The little guy will get a kick out of mommy jumping around

G'mornin all!!

I am a newbie to the board, and I think this may be the right spot for me, so much help and cheerleading!!
I won't post a bio ( for another 29 days), but here is the scoop, I am 36 ( and a half!) 260, live in NY have a DH and 2 babies 21/2 and 3 1/2. I am a SAHM since June ( but was really part time by then anyway)
I am just coming off a wicked upper resp infection, and can't wait to get my treadmill moving!

Right now both kids are on the desk looking at the dancing carrot in the smilies box, so that's my cue to go, have a great day everyone!!!!

Just found this good page at ivillage. It talks about 15 foods that help you lose weight, by keeping you fuller longer. It's pretty interesting.

Hope everyone is having a good day!!!

I had read that it was good to weigh yourself everyday, so you could see continuous progress, first time I'd heard that so I thought okay, I would. Day 1, I consumed 1500 calories and lost 1 lb. Day 2, I consumed 1400 calories and lost 1 lb. Day 3, I consumed 1200 calories and lost nothing. So then I started wondering if I was eating too little, even though I didn't feel starved! I had heard your metabolism could slow down if you ate too few calories, so I decided to up mine to see what would happen. Yesterday I consumed 2300 calories and lost 1.5 lbs. I was REALLY afraid to set on the scale this morning to think I might of gained since it felt like I ate so much, but to my surprise it worked!

I like the idea of taking your weight and multiplying it by 7 to get your suggested calorie intake. To me that seems pretty reasonable!

Keep up the good work everyone! I think it is so true what we keep hearing, you can't see this as a diet, but instead a lifestyle change!! Otherwise once you are off the diet...it will come right back on. That's what I have to keep telling myself!!!
