Gratitude Journal



  • Good Evening Everyone!
    For those Oprah fans from days of old you may have heard of the Gratitude Journal. An idea that every night before bed you write down three things you are thankful for. Since the scale seems to rule so many of our lives I thought it might be a good idea for us to post some of our daily NSV and others can read or maybe just feel a little sense of pride for saying no to something, eating only 5 chips instead of 10, staying POP, journalling etc.

    So mine for today are:

    1) I stayed POP and did my two days of Takeoff 100%
    2) I didn't lick any spoons or untensils from my children's yummy supper
    3) I sat while my girls at Pizza at lunch today and didn't go off plan.

    Take it away girls!

  • I'm thankful I got on the treadmill for 30 minutes
    I'm thankful TO is over and that I did fairly well on it
    I'm thankful I joined Boot Camp (starts next week) so I can get back to my morning workouts, which are usually pretty successful for me
  • 1. I had a really busy/stressful day at work, but still went on my lunch hour to put in my 2 mile walk
    2. Today is day one of the TO. Cooked dinner for family, and sat down to eat my 3 oz of chicken with 1 cup of green beans.
    3. While trying to upload a new picture for the avatar, I've noticed my arms are slimming down!! Made me very happy!

  • I did the journal for a few months and it really does focus your thoughts throughout the day to the things you should be thankful for in case anyone wants to try it!
    Here's my three for today (okay, I know it's Thur., but these are for Wed.!)
    1. Completed TO with no cheats or additional food.
    2. Got on Gazelle for 25 min.
    3. Got in 3 cups of lemon water! (YUK!)
  • Yay! I love things like this!
    1. I joined the gym here at work yesterday and will go to my first toning class today.
    2. I got in all my water and stayed OP all day yesterday.
    3. I've already planned my meals for today! (And we have a business dinner to go to at a fancy hotel tonight, so thankfully they told us what the menu would be ahead of time.)
  • 1) I faced the scale at my COD today.
    2) I am very motivated to do my two days of TO.
    3) I will hopefully go to the gym tonight.
  • I stayed POP today, after two days of Takeoff I was grateful for everything I had.

    I measured the milk that went into my coffee instead of free pouring!

    I had mineral water and lemon when we had company over for cocktails!
  • I made OP chicken chili and we ALL loved it! Still have enough for a couple of days.
    I made tuna salad for our "seafood" day.
    Ds's and I got our flu shots. (dh got his last month)
  • I'm grateful to God for blessing JulieMarie right now with a beautiful baby girl! I LOVE to see people who want to be parents get their greatest wish.
