Default which plan??

As I said in the losers and friends thread, my mom is starting her diet within the next week or so. I really think she would have so much success with lawl, but the closest center is 1hr 30min away from our home and there is no possible way she could go in, not even once a week. I was wondering if you girls and guy could help us figure out a way she could follow the lawl plan without joining a center.

Her current weight is approx. 280, she does little to no exercise, and I'm not really sure what plan she should follow (possibly red no lites???). I have looked through some previous threads to help with my search, but I really need someone to point me in the right direction.

I don't know what information is illegal to post, but any input or guidance will be greatly appreciated. I'm going to encourage her to join our threads and start posting because I truly believe she can benefit from your wonderful words of wisdom and experience. Thanks in advance!!!!!

I was just looking at LA's "new and improved" website and I think you can join and do the plan online (without a center). Then your mom could be evaluated and get the proper plan. Just a thought. Good luck to her!

Whitney - I'm not really sure, but you may also want to tell us her height and confirm that she is not on any medications? Is there a health reason she would not want to do lites (lots of folks not going to the CODs use substitute bars, like Luna bars, etc.). She may really want/crave the extra treat in the beginning. I know I did! At her current weight I think she is Red w/LITES.

I completely forgot about height!! she is 5'6 and does take blood pressure meds. I don't know about the bars, but she may want to do lunas. Thanks for the suggestion!

I looked at the new improved site before Christmas and it is $14.95 a week to do the online only version. That seems pretty pricey since I am guessing it doesn't include the lites.

It sounds like she might be on Red 1. Maybe Juliemarie or Pearl can help out?

I would guess reg red w/lites or Red 1/no lites.

Red1 SSSSPP.5PFFFFVVVVDDFat

Reg Red SSSPP.5PFFFVVVVDFat

I still need coffee this morning-but I think I did this right. Pearl? Have I got the RED 1 plan right?

Whitney - Pearl is close to your mother's weight, so it seems like she should do what Pearl is doing.

Pearl - I love that avatar. You look so happy!

thanks so much girls!! I think she wants to do the red with lites and subsitute the luna bars, or maybe buy them on ebay. I'm glad to know that the protein portion sizes are the same as purple so she can just follow them from my book.

Whitney--I have also shared the entire plan with my mom and sister and wanted to tell you what a great thing you are doing for your mom! Regardless of how much she loses she will feel so much better just eating good food and decent portions. Plus, having someone to share/talk/gripe/commiserate with really helps.

Whitney your mom is just a few lbs more than I am and I am on the reg Red w/lites as well and lunas are a wonderful sub for them and of course she can still do TO with the Knudsen juice as a substitue. I agree than hour and 30 minutes is a bit to far to go even once a week for a center. If she nees to know any of the portion sizes there are plenty of us on red that can let you know that info. Also let her know that she can drink more than the 64 oz of water recommended there is some way to calculate that to give you the amount your body can handle but i dont recall what it is. I am thinking there might even be a website about it. Does anyoen else recall that??? I plan on doing it on my own after my weight loss weeks are up July/Aug. I cant wait to see how well she does!

One of the easiest ways to calculate how much water you need to drink each day is to take your weight, divide it by 2 and that is how many ounces of water you should drink. At my current weight of 155ish (LOL!) I should drink 77 oz of water. I drink at least 10 glasses of water a day.
