Week 1, Day 2 (Motivation: High)

I'm feeling really up-beat for a change. I know, it's like the year change has allowed me to put the blah, grumpy me behind me. Or maybe it's just because that whole Christmas thing is behind me for another year. I don't know, but I'm gonna take it.

I actually lived my words yesterday and stayed within my target calorie amounts, if only just barely. The nice part was that I was able to treat myself (going cold turkey just DOESN'T happen) without going totally overboard. I did hear the seductive voice telling me that one more won't hurt but I actually was able to successfully ignore it. Go me.

Exercise, once again, is going to be a challenge. The weather up here in the north is finally starting to take on a distinct winter flavor, with icy patches starting to form on most walking trails. I'm going to try and keep that from becoming an excuse, but there will definitely be times where this could be a legitimate reason for NOT walking. Gonna try and keep that as an infrequent choice as well.

I've also decided that I'm going to try and get up to that "8 glasses of water/day" rule. Just out of curiosity - since glasses tend to vary in size - how much water are people really talking about? Also, since it's unlikely that I'll be dropping my coffee/tea intake, how does that affect this number? I know that they don't count towards your water intake, but since they are a diuretic (i.e. pulls the water out of your body), do I need to drink more?

Anyway - gotta finish getting ready for work. I'm actually on time for a change, simply by rearranging the order in which I do things. (In this order, I'm a little more efficient and less likely to dawdle. )

to all the newcomers and all around!

Stay strong & stay on program!

Mornin Zeph,
8 8 oz glasses...64 total oz of water a day AT LEAST. Keep a bottle of water handy wherever you go It helps to get your water in everyday.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna eat today. I'm tired of the leftovers I've been eating all week. guess I'll actually fix a decent breakfast this morning

Have a great day

Hi All!

RX, I just read recently that you're supposed to drink 1/2 your weight in ounces of water. So going by your tracker, you should drink 108 oz. I drink a lot of water to begin with, close to a gallon a day, but I need to drink more...and less coffee!!

Holy, How many days until DH comes home?! I here ya' on TBL, I always bawl watching that!

Karen, I've got some exercise DVDs in the line up on Netflix, should be getting one today or tomorrow. I wish I had a neighborhood to walk around, living on a main street sucks. It's gonna be pretty nice (mild) again this week though, so hopefully I can take the kids to the playground or somethin'. Sorry, but just the visual of DH sitting there watching you exercise with your boobs flopping all over the place is hilarious!! (I can laugh, because i can relate!)

Leelee, Of course you're welcome!

FL Mom, Maybe if you pretend you're going on another cruise, you'll be motivated?

OK, I'm writing everything down today and trying to drink all my water. Let's do this everyone!!

Mornin everybody.
I am glad to be here and finally start my new routine. Which includes yoga, walking, vitamins and a healthy diet everyday. I had heard that I could take one diet day off per week. I really don't think that is a good idea. I did that yesterday. I had pizza and drank soda and stuff and today I feel horrible. I guess I will be drinking alot of water as well.
Lauren this is blue. I've raised her since she was a week old. She has one blue eye and I couldn't be more creative w/ her name.

Sugar. The name of the book is You on a diet. The owners manial for waist management. Authors are Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz. It is a great read. You will like it. It's really different than a normal diet book. Let me know if you get it. I'm off to take Blue to her mornin romp. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone. DH got a Playstation PSP over the holidays and I stayed up WAY to late playing last night. It was after 3 when I went to sleep. I am dragging today! So I made a dumb decision for breakfast. I had PB&J crackers. I guess it could have been worse.

Better for lunch!

Shey: Beautiful dog!! I miss our dog. It will be 2 years in March tha she passed away.

Hello everyone!
Shey your dog is tooo cute!! Thanks for the info on the books, I will try and look for them, maybe the weekend, if I go shopping. I have to work lots this week till Fri am. SO I will be exhausted!!!
I have been sticking to my healthy eating also! I am sooo proud of myself, turned down every tempting piece of chocolate and everything!
RX I am with YA! (Motivation HIGH) I am REALLY motivated this time... My hubby said he may get on board with me too! He said let him in on what to eat.... I am doing the weight watcher thing and drinking lots of water, but I dont think I am eating enough points. I know I should eat 22 points, but if I dont eat all of them I should still lose right. I haven't joined the ww online yet, I am thinking about it though. I am checking in on my willpower. Sorta waiting to see if I can stick to it this time!!! Before I spend the money.
Anyways, HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone, wasn't able to get on here yesterday. Hope everyone was safe and healthy coming into the new year....later friends... love sugar~

No, no reason to do a pelvic exam! Does she know the date of her last period? Is she sure of how far along she is? If so, there's no reason to do anything more. If she wasn't sure, they probably would've done an U/S to date her at her first appt.

Hey guys,
I went for my walk. And my shin splints were killing me. Anyone have any ideas what to do to ease the pain. I just got new shoes. I heard that was 'posed to help. Last week they weren't so bad.
Lauren, I'm curious now and want to see a pic of your doggie. There aren't too many out there that look like that. What happened to her or do you still have her?
Karen, I'm sorry about your dog. I can't imagine anything happening to Blue. she is such a big part of our family. I would be devistated.
Sugar, Your welcome. I hope you get it it's a good read.
707G- Congrats on the house. Ican't wait to be able to buy one too. Hopefully sooner that later.
Have a great day everybody.

Hello Everyone! Day 2 for me and so far so good! Got my 30 minutes of walking in over lunch. I just keep drinking and drinking and drinking more water. Why is it though...now when i don't want to eat junk, that's all I think about. Not that I'm hungry or necessarily want it, but food is all I have been thinking about the past 2 days. Am I lacking in something or do you all go through this?
