Froufie talks about these all the time. I've never been in Starbucks because their coffee is too strong for me. I tasted someone's one time. I've been too scared to go in and order one when I don't know what I'm doing. I need decaf on top of everything else. Are they kind to novices?
|
LOL, Vickie, that's what I'm wondering too. I picture myself at the counter, standing there and stuttering, while an angry mob of disgruntled caffeine addicts forms a long line behind me.

I've been doing Core since 9/29/05, and I've lost 34 pounds. I'm looking to lose another 60-64 more pounds to get to my goal. :)

Wow. Thanks so much for all the information. I really like the core plan too, and I feel very satisfied on it. I also feel like I'm cheating all the time!
I also feel like I'm eating too much food, but I don't think that I am, because I am eating shredded wheat, skim milk, bananas, nectarines, apples, splenda, lean meats, tomato soup, brown rice, potatoes (once a day, that is) cereals, stuff like that and I eat until I'm full. Last night I was so hungry, I had core cornbread and one apple baked in some splenda brown sugar and cinnamon - tasted like an apple pie without the crust. And it was all core! I'm not obsessed with food like I was when I counted points and I'm not hungry like I thought I would be. Must be all that fiber! I've lost five pounds in two weeks and I really feel good about myself. I have one hundred more pounds to go, but i think I can make it. I'm giving myself a year. |
Congratulations Angela, you've got the right attitude. Core is a smart way of eating and you'll steadily see the results. Keep up the good work.:)

for Vickie and Katpo, yes they are nice to novices. here's what you do:
for Vickie: ask for a "tall decaf nonfat-sugarfree vanilla latte" for Katpo: exactly the same way - sans the "decaf" then you'll have yourselves a tasty core latte. They'll ask you if you want to save room on the top (so you can add your own stuff in) I always say no. It wont need to be any sweeter, and any extras you put in wont be core. congrats on your loss weightylady, but I suspect you'll have to change your username soon... maybe something like skinnylady or slendergal - lol *hugs for what's left of you* Jane |
Thanks, Jane! I'm going to give it a shot (no pun intended!)!

Please tell me if I'm eating too much. This is about what I'm eating every day:
B: 3 shredded wheat biscuits, crushed w/ banana and skim milk, coffee with Cream (pts) and splenda S: piece of fruit L: Whatever is left over from dinner the night before, or a salad with tuna and just 2 good dressing (pts) D: A Core meal - whatever it may be - usually just one plate which fills me up S: maybe a skim milk/pudding shake if I'm hungry or popcorn. I guess I just feel like because I'm eating so much food, that I'm never going to lose weight! |
Angela, your food choices look good to me. The key is eat till satisfied. Stick to it, you're on the right course.:)
|
I think your menu looks great! You could eat even more if you wanted. :D
|
Another tip, Angela, is to follow the good health guidelines from the Getting Started book. The water really helps.

I think part of the beauty of the core plan is that you really do pay attention to your internal fullness signals. More so now than before because of the accountability. I felt the same way when I first got started.. How on earth could I lose weight .. I'm eating all the time? I never felt hungry. I had to stop equating the hungry feeling with weight loss. I eat about every 2 - 3 hours. People at work get snippy with me and say "how can you be so thin? Every time I see you, you're stuffing your face!!" I tell them "because I stuff my face with all the right things". :D
Keep it up, Angela, your daily diet looks fine. Change things up once in a while so you don't get bored. |
