  • Tanya, I think those are GREAT goals! I have done a lot of pilot and maintenance training over the last 10-12 years. I've never done anything for ground school, but did all the materials for requalification training that the instructors use for their standup training. I worked on mostly business aircraft: Falcon F-10, F-20, Hawker, Gulfstream (G-4 and G-5), King Air, and a few others. I say go for it!
  • I can't believe no one said anything about my goal of getting pregnant. I was expecting some jokes from that one!

Kathy, you are just a wonder woman aren't you? What don't you get in to?

I thought of another goal. It's kind of weird, but hopefully you'll understand what I mean. I want to do a better job of connecting with people--both people I've known for a long time and those who I'm just meeting. It's so easy to lose connection with people from your past and so easy not to reach out and meet new people. So there's an interesting one from me.
  • Well, I knew there wasn't much I could do to help you reach THAT goal!!! But really, I think that would be a great one!
  • I feel ashamed that I have no goals that pop immediately to mind. I'll have to think about it.
  • Vickie, that's no reason to feel ashamed! Maybe you're just so perfect that there's nothing to improve on!!

Kathy, I don't think I need any help....
  • My goal for the new year is to get to goal.
And just to be healthy. Try and learn to control the emotional eating. And to start exercising more.
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  • Kathy is now my official motivator. I knew you were working closely with the AF, but is this all related to that? So cool!!
  • I've done AF training for all those years, but took a break a few years ago and worked at SimuFlite where I did the commercial training. I liked the work but not the management. I certainly learned a lot about the various smaller aircraft -- those little King Airs are NOTHING like a B-2 bomber!!

I've also been in contact with one of the former maintenance instructors to see if we can start up a smaller ground school-type thing. I would do the materials and he would do the instructing. It's basically taking the operating manual for a particular a/c and repackaging it in the form of instruction, testing, remediation, scoring, etc. Nothing that a good PowerPoint programmer couldn't do.
