  • As you may guess by my user name, I am a true tennis-aholic

Monday night, I played mixed doubles with a gentleman I have not played with in over a year. Being 50 pounds lighter than the last time we played together, he noticed my significant improvements in my movement and ability to sustain my serve and volley game through four sets.

This man is a very quiet man. I can barely get a "hello" out of him, and the only time he usually speaks on the court is to say the score. At the end, as we all shook hands at the net, he pointed to me and said "This girl, she is at least 30% better than the last time I played with her. She doesn't miss !"

He reminded me of how far I've come
  • There was a retirement party all day at work today. There were bagels and brownies and indian food and chips and dip and cookies. And then they ordered pizza for lunch. And then to top it all off, there was an enormous chocolate cake with thick chocolate frosting and a layer of dark cherries in the middle.

And I didn't eat any of it. I was a good core girl all day. Even though it's TOM and I could have eaten a whole pizza by myself and fought off the rest of the office with a plastic fork for that cake.

    *whine*
  • Good going, Tanya! That is awesome -- and you made me laugh out loud with that plastic fork comment!!
  • Tanya, you're killing me girl. That description of the chocolate cake was almost too much for another girl experiencing TOM.

Congratulations to you! That was a huge NSV. I'm kinda craving bagels myself.
  • Wow! Lots of good NSV's here. My kids who hadn't seen me in a month told me I looked like I dropped a ton of weight. Felt good. My pants are baggy.

  • Woohoo! I can't wait for someone to tell me that I look like I've lost weight. Good kids!
  • I'm wearing jeans that haven't seen the light of day in at least 4 years. They're an older style from Avenue, and they're a size 18 (I'm between an 18 and a 20 now).
  • I wore size 14 jeans to the party tonight.
  • *ohhh....poppyseed cake.....mmmmmm*
Oops! -- My NSV is learning to skate. My skate instructor is 1/2 my age and 1/3 my weight.... she keeps telling me to put my feet together for these maneuvers (like "swizzles" and skating backwards!) I tried, and because I've exercised *every day* for the past 2 weeks, I can do more than I could last week...this is a huge one for me, because I was/am embarassed to do physical stuff that I can't do well.... but thanks to the exercise, I can do more with skating! - My goal is to be able to go skating with my daughter in January, when she starts lessons. That will be one big NSV!
  • Maria and Melissa,
Merry Christmas! New jeans for all!!
  • Oh yes.... another NSV: I shoveled the *WHOLE* walk and driveway yesterday after the snowstorm. Since I couldn't go walking (the street was snowed in!) I told my DH I wanted to do "some" shoveling (he gets very macho when it snows, and insists on doing it all himself.) Imagine his suprise when he opened the front door, looking to "spell me out", and I'd finished the whole job?! That felt great!!!
  • Stef learning to skate is such a great accomplishment. That's so neat that you can actually FEEL the difference. And way to go, showing up your DH!!
  • Some one who hadn't seen me since I started WW, was telling me that I got thin. Well I am thinner, but the way he was stuttering was so funny.
I don't need the seat belt extender in my car anymore. I have gone from 3X to a large most of the time. The smallest size I have gotten into right now is an 18. I can walk at work w/o being in too much discomfort except when that knee replacement grabs me.
Congratulations to everyone else doing well
    Vivian
  • Wow! Lots of great accomplishments. Sisvivian--you've had a wonderful weight loss.

Hey, I've gotta brag. Last night a woman's group that meets monthly met here for a night out and a cookie exchange. I had a couple of cookies and today has been really hard. I decided that I can't have any more wpa's until this weekend. The chocolate craving has been impossible and what's worse is I've got the stuff in the house. So, what am I proud of? I'm proud that I just made a cup of diet cocoa (0 points) with FF milk and got a milk serving in and also helped fill me up and stifle my craving. Got my fingers crossed this feeling lasts.

  • Vivian, you're doing so great. Those are really wonderful NSVs.

Judy, it is so hard to resisit temptation when it's right under your nose! Good for you making that cocoa instead.
