Default Weekly Challenge, July 24-31

Going strong through the end of July!!

This week's challenge is focused on exercise. Do you need to begin, maintain, or improve an exercise habit? Is there a new type of exercise that you would like to try? Maybe you won't change anything about your "normal" routine, but you just want some accountability from your fellow chicks. Be sure to make realistic goals and do not attempt to do anything that is unhealthy.

If exercise is not the right goal for you this week, please create your own.

Our goal in creating a weekly challenge is to challenge ourselves, and not anyone else. If you post a goal for yourself, the other "chicks" will try to keep you in line and focused. We are all in this together, and want to encourage each other to reach our goals and be our personal best.

What is your challenge for the week?

My exercise goal for the week is to exercise at least 5 more times by Friday (weigh-in day), for at least 20 minutes at a time. Please feel free to use rolling pins, kicks in the rear, etc. if I do not follow through.

I know the challenge doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but I met my goal today by walking (about) 2 miles.

I have decided that I *HAVE* to exercise, whether I want to or not. Here are my goals for the week:

* at least 64 oz. of plain water
* walk at least 3 times next week, a minimum of 20 minutes each time (or Gazelle)
* use the exercise band at least 2 times, a minimum of 10 minutes each time
* do leg exercises daily (100 tiptoes)
* do arm exercises daily (100 pushups against the wall)

is this ever a great challenge or what? thank you so much, melissa. i've been doing some treadmill this week--not as much as i planned but some walking all but one day. so i'll make an effort to do more. i'll try to do at least 2 miles a day.

kathy, i need to do those wall pushups, too. thanks for the idea. my old arms are so flabby they wave in the wind.

Where is everyone on this challenge?? Let's get it in gear, girls!!

I did not exercise on Sunday but walked (almost) two miles last night in the heat. I think that I sweated enough to make up for the .2 shortage. DH and I plan to walk our route again tonight, with maybe just a little bit more added on. I sneak-peeked at the scale this morning and it was back down to 192 (what it was before last week's 2#)! It makes me optimistic for Friday's w/i, as long as I continue what I'm doing.

How's everyone else doing??
