Well I guess I'm the last one to report in - happy to say I lost the last pound of the 3 I gained a couple of weeks ago - so back to my total of 25 gone!

I did think about weigh in- and I believe for now I do need the accountability and formal requirement of attending meetings and getting weighed in - otherwise I think I would get lazy and start moving days around, etc. and make excuses for myself.

As for changing the meeting day - I actually like the sat morning thing cuz it gives me a new allotment of points for the weekend and a fresh start, besides the fact that most of the other meeting times/places don't work w/my schedule.

I think Friday for me also signals the "beginning" of the weekend so I can just let go and relax and start having a good time - unfortunately in my mind this sometimes translates to eating more or things I shouldn't be eating - so I do try to control this impulse (I actually try not to go to movies or dinner out on Fridays to avoid overindulging!).

I guess we can now declare this challenge officially completed???

Well, I weigh in on Wednesdays, and I didn't get to go last week, as I was on vacation. So I haven't officially finished the challenge yet, although time is up. :) I'll go to weigh-in this week though, and let you all know how I did.

here's my official wi for the week--i'm up half a pound. i was on core but didn't get to exercise. (my excuse, right?) i went to the podiatrist this am and got a cortisone shot in my right foot. i got a cortisone shot in the left one a couple of weeks ago. the right foot has different problems. to make a long story short--i can start treadmilling again as soon as the numbness wears off. probably this evening. i'm hoping this will help.

okay, now to confess. i don't know if it was the shot or the half lb gain, but i had 2 pieces of fried fish today at a local fish restaurant. i'm going to deal with this by just forgetting it and keep on keepin' on with core and my normal waps. i don't think it was too bad eating 2 pieces of fish, but i have the weekend coming up and need to head into it feeling confident that i'm on core and doing well on core. my aim is to only have grilled meats and no fried this weekend and to choose wisely with veggies. plus, i'll take fruit.

i snack a lot during tournaments to keep my energy up so i'll be packing grape tomatoes, grapes, bananas, etc..... (i'm boring ya'll telling you all this. sorry. i just need to tell you so i will be accountable to you and will do the right things.)

angela, i know exactly where your mom's coming from. folks in our age group don't require eating as much as we did when we were younger. it's kind of hard to make that adjustment, though. it's harder for us to lose, too. i guess we're not as active as younger folks.

vickie, i didn't know there were caffeine free diet pepsis. that's interesting. my scores for target archery went up several points when i stopped having caffeine drinks. i'm not as shakey as before.

vickie and melissa, that's a good idea about having wi before the weekend. i think i'll change to fridays. this friday is a good time to start, too. maybe it will send me off to the tournament feeling good about myself and my efforts. thanks for the idea.

tennis girl, congratulations on losing that lb!!! i know what you mean about staying op during tournaments. i'm making a switch from granola bars (3 pts each) to fruit and such--and, of course, lots of water. what do you carry with you? are you familiar with lanny bassham? he's an olympic gold medalist in rifle shooting. he has a mental management system that he's teaching to a lot of golfers. if you're interested, go to http://www.lannybassham.com and take a peek. my archery scores have improved since i started following his teachings. i won a national championship this year for women 50 and older. let me know if you checkout his website and what you think.

Well, I had my first real weigh in today, and I am exactly the same as when I started last week - BUMMER! I did feel kind of bloated this morning. Should have been drinking more water, but had a busy day yesterday so I didn't get it in. Still, I didn't use any flex points at all so I thought I'd at least lose a pound.
I'm going to give "core" another week and if that doesn't work I'll switch to "points" and see how that goes. (Come to think of it, it might just be from pms. If that's all it is I should have a good drop next time.)

judy, let's hang in there. core will work.

Vickie 06-07-2005 01:23 PM

I always say give Core a month before you decide.

septembersgoal 06-07-2005 07:57 PM

I've been "doing" core for a couple of months and have yet to have a real "core" week.

ontarget 06-07-2005 08:09 PM

i honestly don't remember how long i've been doing core. i know i took off a couple of weeks after starting it to try the idiot proof diet. i need to keep a record, don't i?
