4:30 and I am still totally core today. :)
Frouf - I too find it really tough these days. I was so good for a while, and I just find that I've let small slippages add up each day. It was a bit of a shock when I tallied my points properly at the end of the day. Sandra - The salmon sandwiches were a salmon salad with brown bread - with canned salmon instead of canned tuna. Nothing fancy - just should not have had all that bread and mayonnaise (which I 'm sure was not fat free). They were lovely though ;) |
I might be out of the challenge -- don't say it! I already know I'm a weenie!
I have SO much "points" food that needs to be eaten up. After WW on Saturday I went to the store and stocked up on things. I think I really should be doing Flex because (1) I MUST have more structure, and (2) I can't bear to waste the stuff. So what do you think? Tired of my wishy-washiness yet?? |
I'm back on and being good. Can you believe it? I just went to my favorite restaurant and had my normal grilled chicken mixed greens salad and I happend to notice that the menu advertises FF mayo on the tuna and chicken salad. This opens up all kinds of possibilities since they have a stuffed tomato and stuffed pineapple with fresh fruit, etc. I may never have lunch at home again. I really wish they were open for dinner. This is also the same restaurant that serves sirloin burgers and lets me subsitute fresh fruit salad for fries. And, they give me big squares of fruit, not just a few skinny pieces. Gotta love this City!
|
Oh but I forgot to add ... I guess I could still be in the challenge, but it would be a "stay on plan" challenge with Flex and not Core.
|
Go for the stay on plan, Kathy. It's not a good idea to switch in the middle of the week anyway, IMHO.
|
I know -- I sort of expected to mess up for the first little while anyway until I figure out what I'm going to do. Most of my foods are Core foods anyway so it's basically Core with just a few more WPAs used than I should.
|
Let's all try and be on (a) plan all week, for no one else but ourselves, that should be our objective....don't quite know how it got to 'challenge' status, that wasn't our objective, and for that I apolgize, it wasn't meant to be that way. Just a 'fun' thing to do amongst 'friends'
I understand about the 'structure' thing Kathy. Luckily after a week WW gives you the option to switch. I want to try and eat Core-isk My main thing would be to get some really GOOD 'treats' If I have that, I can handle this. I usually use Saturday as a 'off' day, for only ONE meal and that would include dessert, not the ENTIRE day. I wish everyone success, that's what it's all about :-) :-) |
Hehehe, Linda, they don't know "my week" started over today! As long as I'm not in danger of getting arrested for it, I'm switching in the middle. I'm probably expecting too much out of Saturday's w/i, but I'm already back down to where I was before the big salt and water bloat of last weekend. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.
Don't apologize for anything! I love a challenge -- and actually it started out that we were going to try and stick with something (being good) until Saturday's weigh-in! We can still do it! |
Today I did pretty good! Only used 3.5 points I think. That's such a remarkable change for me. I've got to tell you all that this "challenge" has been such a good thing for me. It has changed my thinking. Now I think, "I can totally do Core for one week. Just one week, and see how things go." Do you know that the whole time I've been doing WW I haven't stayed on plan for an entire week? So this has really really helped me. I can't wait to see what happens with w/i on Monday. Of course I am hoping that there is a change! I do have Thursday to contend with though, I have no idea what will be served at this dinner. I'll have to be extra good until then I guess.
Frouf, congrats on getting that walk in today! Caroline, congrats on being all-core today. And I like your reference to the Seinfeld episode. Kathy, you aren't out! I hope that you can figure out what works best for you. I don't know why, but I feel like Core gives me more structure. I guess it just depends on how you operate. Linda, sorry again that I titled this a challenge thread. I can always change the title if you guys want. Just let me know. Kendra, glad to have you. I was off-plan most of last week too, so that's why I was so glad when Kathy and Linda talked about trying to keep us on-plan for a week. A week seems doable, doesn't it? |
vickie, that restaurants sounds fabulous. i've never heard of stuffed pineapple. can you describe it for us?
caroline, thanks for the description of the salmon sandwich. i'd never heard of salmon salad. (hmmmmm? have i led a sheltered life or what?) kathy, stay in the challenge. we need you. linda, you're right. we have to do this for ourselves. i don't think any of us thought of this as a competition--just a jumpstart. i'm glad you and kathy thought this puppy up for us. thank you sooooo much. |
Sandra, I haven't seen the pineapple yet, but I think the salads are served in the hollow of a carved out pineapple with cut up fruit all around it. I can't wait to order it next time. You all hop on I-80 and get off the 96th Avenue exit. We can meet for lunch!
|
sure wish i could, vickie. that stuffed pineapple sounds yummy.
|
ok guys, I'm in this thing too................ all core today no points. so we cant weigh ourselves until Saturday... that's going to be as hard as sticking to this. week #2 is always hard for me, I messed up sunday so trying to get the sugar out of my system... good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!
|
welcome aboard, kiss. i'm not going to wi till monday am. that's mainly so i'll do well through the weekend. facing the iron monster on monday should help keep me on the straight and narrow.
|
yeah, monday is my at home official weigh in day too. I just always weigh myself just to see. I have to fight the temptation not to. I guess it beats fighting the temptation to eat though
