Default May 1 = new beginnings!

I always like the start of a new month because it gives me a good starting over place.

So what do you say about this? We should all use the start of May as a fresh opportunity to stay OP and really re-dedicate ourselves to what we know should be done!!! This includes daily exercise, even if it's just push-ups against the wall for 2-3 minutes!!

Challenge!!

I'm up for it Kathy! I'm so darn close to my goal weight, and I just need that extra push. Here's my goal - to stay completely on-plan until my weigh-in on Wednesday. All Core items, unless I'm paying a FEW WPA's for them. No more sneaking a handful of M&M's from dh, no more movie theater butter popcorn in the evening. I can do it!

Kathy and Angela count me in. I don't know what happened. I got under that 160 mark and all **** broke loose. I just haven't stopped eating for the last three days., there's no way I'll still be under 160 come Wed. a.m.................unless maybe I stick to strictly CORE foods and drink lots of water.

Starting over tomorrow and re-dedicating myself. I can do this!

Thanks for posting the challenge, Kathy. I'm in!
I still really want to lose as much weight as possible before the end of May when we will be attending HS graduation for some youth that I used to work with. We will have to go back to our college town where we lived for awhile. I haven't seen those people in about 30 pounds. So I'd like to be a lot more thin by then!! I have been cheating like crazy and not exercising. Which is frustrating because I have lost weight by cheating, so I know that if I would stick to it that I would lose like crazy! So bring on May 1st!!!

notnewtothis, glad to have you along! If you would like, you could post your profile so that we can get to know you better. The ladies here are just wonderful, I have learned so much from them! Hope to see you around a lot!

Should we have a May challenge thread (or use this one) and post daily how much we exercised, how many points we used, etc? I think if I had to answer to you all daily that would help. Or we could use the daily menu thread, and just tack on exercise notes. That might be easier. What do you guys think?

I think maybe when we do the menu thread, we should try to call it Menu, Exercise, and Accountability!! We can keep it all contained day-by-day.

that sounds good to me, too. when you say "points" do you mean that you're keeping pts for everything or just waps?

i'll look around to see where to post my bio. i'm very excited to be with all of you. this is my first core board to join.

Points = the 35 WPAs (weekly points allowance) that we get each week. If you average it, it's 5 per day which can be used for things that aren't Core. Lots of people use them for regular cheese, WW bread, etc. AND ... you can help yourself out a bit by earning activity points and using them for your non-Core items.

I hope this helps! And welcome!!

thanks, kathy. that does help. right now, i'm trying to do core without the waps but i know i'll start using them soon as the new wears off.

i posted my bio over on the other thread. now i'm browsing to see who all on this "may 1" thread is posted there. i want to learn more about each of you. i've very excited to be here. from what i've seen on the bios so far, i'm the oldest here. that doesn't mean i know the most (definitely!). i'm anxious to learn from each of you.

see you later. i'm off to browse some more.

Hey, don't say you're the oldest! Say you're the one with more experience!

I saw that you are an archery champion! You go, girl! That is just the coolest thing!!!

My SIL/BIL live in Montana in a teeny little town (Hamilton) -- I wonder if you're near there? They were originally in Belgrade outside of Bozeman, then moved to Schenectady NY then back to Montana. He's a PhD research chemist for a drug company. It's my DH's sister and her husband. We want to go visit sometime next summer (2006).
