Core #10... Let's do it again!

I've been gone for almost a week now and I haven't even reported from my weigh in last week... and I came back and there was so much stuff I can't read it all! So I thought I'd start a new one, the othe rone is LOOONGGG :) Anyway, last Thursday's weigh in I only like like 1.2 or something, another one tomorrow... stupid period, bloating, ACK. Not looking forward to it. Hope everyone is doing great, and I can't wait to try those garlic mashed potatoes! sounds YUMMY! :)

mumto2 02-23-2005 07:09 PM

Hey Pink Bride. Look for us tonight at 8;30 in the chat room. Check out the "Chat me Up" thread. I think all the instructions are in there.

Lisa

Froufy 02-23-2005 08:28 PM

Here You Are!

..and here I am, finally after a grueling day at work! UGH! Was on a course today (actually piloting a course we are providing in March so about 10 of us and instructor)...it was a long, semi-boring day! Got a lot of water in today - which is great as I was slacking, but not much time for snacks! I am so tired.....going to bed too late and not sleeping well is finally taking its toll.

Finally got TOM and hopefully all ill effects will be gone by saturday's weigh-in.

Vickie - I'm sure you are holding onto some "salty water" there - just chug away and it should disappear!

Kathy - hope your puppy's peepee is perfectly fine now! and congrats on getting below 150! I bet you are thrilled to see that again!

Pink - big CONGRATS on your loss - no such thing as a "little loss" - I would be thrilled to lose 1 lb per week on average!

Work is really getting me down as I am getting too bogged down in details and everything we are trying to do gets sidetracked, with more details and investigations - seems like two steps forward and three steps back...very frustrating.

...and yes I need a vacation - but due to gf's pickiness we have lost about 3 major opportunities now - and it's slim pickins as all flights/destinations are booking up quickly. Yes I realize I should have booked without her, but it's almost too late now - all the properties that I have carefully researched and chosen seem to have disappeared - and I am cranky!!! I don't even want to go anymore cuz it's no longer fun or joyful - I am obsessed w/airfares, prices, vacation spots and it's exhausting me!....will see if anything turns out but I have lost my "oomph" around this "project" (and what's a frouf without her oopmh?? :dizzy: )

Will try to make it to chat (9:30 for me I guess?) and hope to see everyone online! :D

Katpo 02-23-2005 09:02 PM

Oh Frouf ... hang in there, girlfriend! See you at chat, I hope! It sounds like you've had quite a day!

Starting Over Again 02-24-2005 07:38 AM

Morning everyone! Today is the day I'm supposed to get my dryer fixed. Keep your fingers crossed, as my laundry is overflowing and I really don't want to have to go to the laundromat in the rain. :(

Pink, great job on a loss! Hope you have another one for this week but don't get discouraged if TOM interferes with the scale. Vickie, I also hope you have a good WI today. Hopefully, that mysterious 2-pound gain will vanish as quickly as it came.

Froufie, sorry the job is stressing you out! :( I wish I had some good advice to offer about your trip. I know you've been looking forward to a warm getaway but if the stresses of planning the trip outweigh any positives you'll get from it, it might be better to shelve everything for a while until things settle down at work. :grouphug:

Frannie, enjoy some of that rhubarb for me! :) I made some rhubarb apple crisp and some of the rhubarb jello kind of stuff last night and had some of each for breakfast this morning. Oh my but I certainly enjoyed it. Any favorite recipes you'd like to share? I'd like to try my hand at growing some since I have a big ole patch of dirt just perfect for a garden out back but everything on the Internet says rhubarb doesn't grow well in warm climates so I don't even know if it's worth a shot or not. I like plants that aren't high maintenance! :D

Kathy, my Publix didn't have your particular flavor of Arizona tea. They had several diet green teas and 2 or 3 no carb drinks. One of those was a white cranberry juice flavor so if you're looking for something tart that might be a thought. They had about 6 flavors of these RX teas .... stress, relaxation, and I forget the rest! Maybe Jacksonville will be your place to finally find it!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Vickie 02-24-2005 11:15 AM

Weight to go, Bride! 1.2 is incredibly good. You should be celebrating. :cheer: Good luck tonight? My weigh in is tonight also!

Froufy, I think you should forget the GF and you and your DD should go some place spectacular. I know you are researched out but why don't you just take one more run at it. Wouldn't it be cool to just pick one place and all you have to please is yourself and DD? Go for it! :sunny:

Good luck on the dryer repair, Deborah! Hope it gets fixed and doesn't cost a fortune. That's why I buy the American Home Shield plan. It costs me $300 a year and $50 a visit, but at least I know my stuff will get fixed or replaced for that!

I'm done exercising and need to go eat breakfast cause I can feel that I am VERY hungry. I've got errands and I'm going out to lunch with Jim before I go for my weigh in. Ugh. This day always makes me stressed! :(

Talk with you all later.

nicolee 02-24-2005 01:02 PM

Good afternoon everybody. This is my first appearance on this thread or any thread like it, so I won't even try to remember everyone's names just yet. :p

Today is my 5th day on Core and so far I think I'm doing well. I snuck onto the scale this morning and it shows a 4 pound loss. Lets hope that bears true for my actual weigh in on Saturday. :crossed:

The window lift motor on my Jeep went out yesterday. The window is down and won't come back up. The part will be here tomorrow morning to fix it, but meanwhile it's parked under my sister's carport cause it's raining today. Poor thing...I woke her up this morning to bum a ride to work. We have other cars at home, but I couldn't find the keys. Typical morning.

I just want to thank everyone that has helped me and welcomed me to these boards. I really feel like I'm gonna do it and keep it off this time.

Katpo 02-24-2005 01:08 PM

Good going! That's a super loss -- I'll keep my fingers crossed for Saturday, too! Keep it up! That stinks about your car window and of course it couldn't happen on a sunny day, huh? At least you had a back-up plan!

Bride, I think you should be celebrating that loss too!! You know at least it's in the right direction!

Deb, thanks for looking for the tea. I appreciate it very much!

KO 02-24-2005 01:11 PM

Hi LAdies I'm totally goofing off for longer than intended  Pink! thats a great loss
I forgot my lunch today so what i had was totally non core
Kathy where did you get your avatar?
Debbie Good Luck with the Dryer! I wish i had a washer/dryer SOB!
Vickie WI stresses me out too!
ok totally TMI question Does COre food make you chicks Overly Gassy?
bbl
Kier

nicolee 02-24-2005 01:15 PM

KO - I feel like core makes me more gassy than usual. To hear my husband tell it though, I've always been a gas  .

Froufy 02-24-2005 01:18 PM

At work today - still bummed out about the trip - looks like I may be able to get the 11th off (supposed to be a group training course) - think my mgr is taking pity on me and making the "organizer" see if there are other available dates! This opens up a few more possibilities for me? but my gf would have to come to Ottawa from Toronto!!! what a change that would be!

Have another HEADACHE AGAIN - went to sleep with one (took 2 eight hr tylenols) and woke up with one (2 more advil)...think it's stress combined with TOM hormones! Also throw some sleep deprivation in there and you get the picture! :(

Need to exercise tonight as I have been quite a slacker in this department!

Had a nice chat last night - hope others can try and join in next wednesday! :)

Vickie - good luck with your weigh-in - I am really keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Nicolee - sorry to hear about the car window - what a bummer! Of course it couldn't get stuck when "closed" that would be too easy! sounds like you are doing great on Core! (I need to hide my scale sometimes as I get a bit overzealous with the hopping on and off!)

Deborah - hope your clothes are all dry and fluffy by now!

GUESS WHAT!!! almost forgot - I ate a CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZEL!!! What a treat - do you know I had to make myself eat it? I was finding I was getting to "afraid" to eat anything I shouldn't.....and was scared of becoming obsessed with this and maybe at some point going on a binge? My biggest fear of course is the onset of cravings due to sugar ingestion.

My boss left everyone a chocolate covered pretzel (in a pretty paper wrapper) on our desks - about 2 inches in diameter covered w/DARK CHOCOLATE (my favorite). I did not feel compelled to eat it - but felt life was such that I had to be able to have a treat once in a while without going crazy - so I ate it - and REALLY ENJOYED (I had decided before hand that I would chuck it if it did not meet my standards! ) It was really good...drank some water to wash it down...had my soup for lunch...and so far I still feel "normal"??? :dizzy: :D :dizzy:

Actually had already decided that today would be a "higher calorie" day as I feel I am not eating enuf and feeling lethargic, hungry and maybe this is adding to the headaches??

Tomorrow of course I plan to guzzle more water in preparation for sat weigh-in!

Later,
Frouf:)

aghiowa 02-24-2005 02:14 PM

Ooh, rhubarb. I have a great rhubarb bread recipe...oh wait. Not Core at all! We have some growing in our yard. It is indeed a hearty plant - it survived being driven over by a Bobcat. :D Having a better, on-plan day today. I finally went grocery shopping yesterday, so I have some food to choose from.

I'm cooking soup this afternoon, and putting away laundry, my least favorite task. (The laundry, not the cooking.) You know, I would happily sort, wash, dry, and fold TONS of laundry if I just didn't have to put it away. I'm getting eager to use my clothesline again. I LOVE the smell of sun-dried clothes. Unfortunately, the "clothesline" season here is only from about May to September. I supposed I could freeze-dry them now, but somehow it wouldn't be the same. :)

Hope everyone is having a nice day...
Angela

mumto2 02-24-2005 06:31 PM

Hi everyone!

Kier - yes I am more gassy on CORE. Starting to think it's the olive oil.

Angela, I'm with you. My clean laundry ususally sits in the basket until I need the basket again.

Froufy - keeping my fingers crossed for your weigh in. Didn't make mine yesterday, because DS was sick, but didn't want to go anyway. 'fraid I might have gained.

Amanda - great loss! Keep it up! :goodscale:

Vickie - did you weigh in today? ;)

I missed the Chat last night. Got wrapped up in American Idol and forgot. :o Will try to make it next week.

Lisa

WWEnthusiast 02-24-2005 07:05 PM

Hi All, tried to 'chat' with you all last night, but obviously I was doing something wrong :-( gee what a surprise!!! and that goes right along with the way this past week went. My intentions were good, as they always are and BAM!! it didn't take long to mess up.
I am quite the faiure, am I not???????? Boy oh boy!!! I did not get to walk at my new found track since I broke my butt at work every single day. That is still my goal. Won't keep you all, just wanted to give you the headsup on my failure....hey at least I'm successful at that!!

Vickie I hope your weigh in went your weigh :-)
Congrats to all the losers this past week!!

Talk with you all during the week....till then...Linda

Starting Over Again 02-24-2005 08:34 PM

Linda, you are NOT a failure! Don't even think that way! Life has a way of changing our plans for us sometimes and just because we can't always accomplish what we intend to do doesn't mean we've failed. We've just had a temporary setback or a reorganization of priorities! The intentions are still there and the opportunity to take advantage of it will come up!

Vickie, hope you had a good WI tonight! I wish I'd had the foresight to buy some sort of annual appliance repair plan ... my icemaker alone has had to be repaired 3 times in the past 18 months. Thankfully, the dryer is back in commission! And the repair bill was only $87 ($40 of which was the trip charge because we live so far away from town!). At least I'm spared the expense of a new dryer right now ... knock on wood! :)

Froufie, I hope you get the chance to get away. And I really hope that headache forsakes you soon! I'm glad you enjoyed the pretzel ... sounds delectable!

Kallie and Amanda, it sounds like both of you are doing great on Core. Amanda, I eat a lot of the same things on Core too ... clearly I don't get tired of foods easily ... otherwise, I wouldn't be the size I am, right? And Kallie, it sounds like you are making good choices for being on the road. Enjoy your business trip!

Lisa, I hope DS is feeling better. I know what you and Vickie mean about dreading WI. I only weigh at home but I know I'm going to be bummed when I weigh tomorrow, even though I know I'm going to have a HUGE gain. I've got some water retention thing going on for some inexplicable reason too. Oh well! We just have to keep plugging away!

Kierie, I'm sorry to say I feel gassier than usual on Core! :) I'm sure the people around me will say they're sorry I feel that way too! Now here's TMI for you ... my DH has labeled me "silent but deadly" if you know what I mean!

Angela, I love the smell of sun and wind dried clothes too but just not enough hours in the day ... particularly since I do laundry every single day! I had to laugh at your freeze-dried comment! It's a balmy 60+ here tonight with a semi cooler snap heading our way ... more rain in the forecast though. Enjoy some of that rhubarb for me too! I envy all you cold weather folks who can grow it!

Froufy 02-24-2005 09:06 PM

Imposters, Imposters!!!

Hey Kathy,

Looks like it was another "Lisa" on the chat last night - posing as "one of us"!!! ;)

Too funny - Kathy asked her if she was "mumto2" and she said ya - she had some kids...now I realize she probably thought Kathy was just making "conversation"!!!

We kinda wondered when she finally admitted she was not on Core....which prompted lots of discussion once she had left!

Spies everywhere!

Frouf :D

Katpo 02-24-2005 10:21 PM

Too crazy!!! I wonder who it was! I thought it was odd when she said she hadn't started Core yet because it was too hard to maintain and too expensive. I think she said she was doing e-diets right now. I thought at the time "Whhhhhaaaaat?" Maybe she'll come back next week.

aghiowa 02-24-2005 10:54 PM

Deborah, I knew there were SOME advantages to living in a cold place - that's one, I can grow rhubarb. :D

I am definitely coming down with a cold. Ick!! Oh well.

Froufie, I finally made your soup today. You were right, it makes a TON. I have a bunch stored in the fridge, and a bunch frozen for later. When everyone else was eating McDonald's for dinner, I had soup. All I've got to say is Yum!! You know, before Core, I wouldn't have really liked it because of all the veggies. But now, it's so flavorful, rich, and filling, it's great. I can totally see eating it for lunch many days out of the week, which is good, since I have SO much.

And to add to the gas discussion, yes, I've noticed that effect too. My poor family - my 3 year old has started saying loudly, "Something smells in here!" and holding her nose. Gotta love kids' honesty. :) But I've always had issues there, and it did settle down a bit after I got used to eating Core.

I'm going to bed now, maybe I can sleep off this cold. :D

Angela

nicolee 02-25-2005 08:22 AM

TGIF!!!! I don't think I could make it through another workday if I had to.

My SIL is getting married tomorrow and I just found out last night that we are supposed to be at a rehearsal tonight at 6. ARRGH! I'm videotaping the ceremony and doing her music. This will be my first time doing anything for a wedding so please keep your fingers crossed that I don't totally screw up and ruin her day.

Good luck to everyone over the weekend with weigh ins and staying on plan. I don't know if I'll have time to check in tomorrow or not :?: .

Vickie 02-25-2005 10:03 AM

Hi Guys. Crazy day for me today. My Nephew is in the hospital and I have to go see him. Just ate breakfast and got off the treadmill so I have to go get ready. Then I'm going out with the girls tonight. Yikes! At least I insisted on a Core friendly place.

I lost 1.4 last night and I was very happy. Still haven't gotten to that darned 30 pound mark. I'm at 28.6 so I'd have to lose another 1.4 or more to get there next week. I'm gonna give it my best.

Sorry I don't have time to respond to everyone's posts. I'll try to do that later.

mumto2 02-25-2005 10:08 AM

Hey Vickie!

Lisa

aghiowa 02-25-2005 10:29 AM

:cp: Congratulations Vickie, on the loss. 1.4 is nothing to sneeze at. And as we always say, a loss is a loss! You'll get that 30 pound chick in no time.

Hee hee - I'm just imagining a 30 pound chick.

Angela

KO 02-25-2005 10:58 AM

my whole schedule got thrown off with snow so i started with a bad breakfast poptarts and diet coke nad someone brought in donuts dear god why????
but i have been walking more and timing my time to walk and I'm averaging at least 20 minutes a day some days more
I'll post after lunch when i hit my quota for the day

Starting Over Again 02-25-2005 01:28 PM

Vickie, I hope everything goes well with your nephew. And how about that loss! Way to go!! :high: And I'm with Angela ... I think you'll have that 30-pound chick next WI! Have fun tonight eating dinner out!

Amanda, good luck with your wedding photography! I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Kierie, I'm sorry your day is off to a bad start. Don't you hate it when that happens? But good for you in getting your walking in ... that's a great way to help things stay on track. Hope things improve for you today and if not, you've got the whole weekend to regroup, right? :)

Angela, I'm sorry you're coming down with a cold. Stay warm and enjoy the soup you made from Froufie's recipe ... maybe all that healthy nourishment will send the cold germs packing! :)

Hope all is well with everyone else! Have a great weekend!

mumto2 02-25-2005 01:31 PM

Hi KO, we had the same snow here! About 9 inches; schools were delayed 2 hrs., so that threw off my schedule too. I did make the baked oatmeal CORE recipe, and it was pretty good, but I've been hungry all day. TOM next week I'm sure that doesn't help. I've been searching for chocolate and haven't found any yet. Wonder where my DD put her valentines candy.............? I think we just have to hang in there! It's taken me 16 weeks to lose 6.2 lbs., but at least I've had a loss every week this year.

Lisa

KO 02-25-2005 01:43 PM

Hi Ladies
I think i had my workout for the day I walked from the north building to the south building and back Altogether it probably took me 20 minutes with lunch in between
Lisa you're doign great!
Deborah I'm going to probably just eat veggies tonight and guzzle water WI is tommorrow :O
Hi vickie I hope you're nephew is ok
Amanda you'll do great!

Starting Over Again 02-25-2005 01:53 PM

Kierie, sounds like you've got a good plan! I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope you have a good WI! :goodluck: Great job on getting your exercise in too!

Froufie, here's some crossed fingers for your WI tomorrow too! And for everyone else who has WI tomorrow! :crossed: :crossed:

Froufy 02-25-2005 02:09 PM

Finally Friday!

Hey Vickie - CONGRATS ON YOUR LOSS - way to go! :dancer: :dancer: :cloud9: If I were you I would definitely start working on my 30 lb reward!!!! :gift: Have fun tonight!

Hope nothing serious w/your nephew?? :?:

Angela - glad you like the soup - cuz it sounds like you're going to be eating it for awhile!!! (I just finished the last "bowl" for my lunch today). Hope your cold disappears quickly!

Kierie - don't let the bad start to the day follow you around - back on plan and good work on continuing w/your exercising! :flow2: ...and I can relate as there is not only a big box of doughnuts sitting right across from my desk (at the communal printer table), but some homemade lemon mousse cake as well (only 1 slice left, but who says I'm paying any attention?)...ha ha ha. I don't really want either or feel the need to go "check it out".....in the "good old days" this stuff would have been calling, no make it yelling, my name!

Good luck w/your weigh-in tomorrow! :goodluck:

Amanda - good luck at the dinner and with your wedding "jobs" - I'm sure you'll do just fine!

Thanks Deborah for the weigh in wishes - I'm not having much luck with my water today (but this morning's preliminary scale peeking looks positive! :dizzy: )

Oh ya - hobbling about a bit today? Not sure what happenend but I have a left hip/bum pain? Maybe sciatic nerve?? Was a bit problematic yesterday, a bit worse today - took some pain relievers/muscle relaxants and this is helping a bit. Not sure if I can make it on the treadmill tonight? If not better by Monday I will definitely seek some medical attention!

TOM just about over - in time for weigh-in?

What's everyone doing this weekend? Supposed to go to dinner out tomorrow - ex-work colleague of dh's whose daughter goes to same school as our youngest - invited us for dinner...I think chicken or something...I'm not too worried about it (maybe I should be? ha ha ha). Otherwise hoping to catch up on some much needed rest!

Later,

Froufie:)

fergusonvt 02-25-2005 02:53 PM

I am thinking about switching to WW online and doing my WI at home instead of doing the meeting thing. I don't usually stay for the meeting anyway and am paying $$11 bucks a week. Online I think it was $16.95 per month. Is anyone else doing online and how is it working for you? Do you find that not attending a meeting now and then is detrimental to your weight loss?

Vermont Kathy

Starting Over Again 02-25-2005 03:19 PM

Hi VT Kathy, I'm on-line only now and was also when I was doing WW a couple of years ago. I lost great the first time around but am not doing as well this time around. I've never been a meeting type of person and can hold myself pretty accountable when I set my mind to it! If you don't stay for the meetings anyway, why not give it a shot? There's a sign-up fee on-line ... like a registration fee plus the monthly fee. If you pay for 3 months at a time, you get a small discount.

Why don't you start out with e-tools? It's cheaper but you can get it since you go to meetings (you have to have some sort of registration code they give you at your meetings). You might want to surf around the WW site and see what specifically you'll use ... otherwise, you can do fitday.com for free if you only want to journal your food, track your activity, and track your weight. Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

Froufie, hope your stiffness isn't anything serious and great job on resisting your goodies at work! I almost had a Krispy Kreme encounter when I stopped to get gas this morning but I resisted. Yes, thank you! I was pretty proud of myself! I'm glad all signs are pointing (no pun intended ... ha! ;) ) to a good WI tomorrow!

Katpo 02-25-2005 05:59 PM

Tomorrow is a brand new day for me!! Yippee!!! I start my life over again and this time I will do it right! I joined a gym today and am so excited about it!! They have lots of cool equipment and so hopefully I will be able to tone myself up and get some husky-girl muscles!!!

Geez, where to start??

First, Vickie, congrats on your loss!! I hope your nephew is okay! and Froufie, go sit on the heating pad! I hope your backside gets better soon, but I've had that too in the past and it was horrible. It woke me up at night with the pain. Ugh, don't want to repeat it!

Vermont Kathy, I'd check out e-tools too if I were you, especially since you're a current "meeting" member and probably get a free code. PLUS, since you already know what to do, and can be accountable to yourself for weigh-ins, why even do it online? You know the program inside and out!

Kierie, sounds like your walking might offset those poptarts.

And a big hey there to everybody else!! Good luck on upcoming weigh-ins!

kally 02-25-2005 08:43 PM

frouf - is there a recipe of your famous soup here somewhere?
thanks kally

Katpo 02-25-2005 08:49 PM

Kally, here's what she posted on support #9:

I make soup of of ANYTHING and everything, but seems I now have a somewhat "typical recipe", which is (and you need a really big pot!): Take beef shank bone or any "cheaper cut" of beef, I usually "brown" it, add about one sliced onion, cut up baby carrots, cut up two stalks of celery...saute a couple of minutes...then add beef broth (either pre-made - the 1 litre tetra pak size) or water w/beef cubes. Add one large can diced tomatoes.... usually pre-seasoned (w/herbs and garlic), one large can tomato paste or campbell's tomato soup, more water, spices (salt, pepper, garlic, italian seasoning), a few splashes of worcestershire sauce, some splenda if too sour, about 1 cup barley (sometimes I will also add about 1/2 cup split green peas). This week cabbage was on sale (1 cent per pound!!!!), so I have chopped some in there - oh ya - also one can of red kidney beans - or whatever beans you like (drained and rinsed). So you bring this to a boil - then turn it down, cover and simmer for about 2 hours or so? Need to taste to adjust seasonings and/or sweetness. When done I remove meat if on a bone (shank) and cut up the beef, throw it back in the pot and discard bones.

Katpo 02-25-2005 08:50 PM

I saw that you were still online and thought you might want to make some soup, and Froufy wasn't here, so I went and found the post where she described how she made it.

aghiowa 02-25-2005 08:52 PM

Just be warned - it makes a LOT of soup. But that's OK, because it's so yummy. :D

Angela

nicolee 02-25-2005 09:09 PM

Well I just got back from the rehearsal dinner. Before the dinner I stopped at the grocery store and got a fruit tray that consisted of canteloupe, honeydew, strawberries, and grapes so that I wouldn't be starving when it came time to eat.

I was not surprised that nothing was core. I had 3 small fried chicken strips, a salad with cheese and real ranch dressing, and peanut butter fudge. Tomorrow is my first weigh in and I think I may have already blown it. But hey, I won't let one little mistake ruin my efforts. Live and learn, right?

Katpo 02-25-2005 09:35 PM

Hey, you said it! Live and learn! And tomorrow is always another opportunity for a fresh start.

The rehearsal dinner wasn't in your plan, and I guess we always have to make allowances for these unforeseen obstacles! You did a good thing though by stopping for the fruit.

Be sure to let us know how that weigh-in goes! You might just be surprised.

Froufy 02-25-2005 10:17 PM

It's Here, It's Here!!!!

So we're at the dinner table - been home for a little while and dh kinda mentions some package that came today!!! SO I START FREAKING OUT...and of course 6 yr old joins in as we dash upstairs to get the box!!!

DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION EXTREME IS NOW IN MY POSSESSION!!! How cool is that??

I naturally had to rip open the box and try it out - had a few problems with it initially - like which mat (got 2) went in which "slot" and at first it wasn't "registering" my dance steps (silly you have to dance on mat 1 if it's plugged into slot 1 and it's on single mode!). Once we got that straightened out it was off to the "lessons" and some beginner dancing. What a hoot!...even dh got into it and we were taking turns (he got a few A's - I was pretty impressed). Boy you can certainly work up a sweat (had to go change from jeans and sweatshirt halfway thru and into my yoga capris and t-shirt). I think I danced at least 30 minutes - kinda lost track - but I'm at a very basic beginner mode and I'm sure it will get more difficult once we increase the levels (right Angela? :D )

So while my backside is not really hurting - just feels weak and funny when I put pressure on my left leg - I could not stop myself from dancing - just hope I can waddle around tomorrow and hop on that scale! :o

Amanda - I think you did great considering the non-core foods available - and it was a great idea to get the fruit to fill you up! I'm sure you'll do great tomorrow!

...thanks for reposting the soup recipe Kathy (actually have to print it out for my boss!). I am making a fresh batch on Sunday once I get some more "ingredients"...I always try to make a smaller batch, but sometimes it never works out that way? :dizzy: :dizzy:

Went to the International Day show ( and food fest!!) at son's school - lots of food around (brought a diet pepsi with me)...got hungry so I got a vegetarian cabbage roll (lots of rice!!)....had about half of one...and decided it was not that good, so chucked the rest...had a bite of ds' banana bread (it was very good)...and 2 pretzels w/dip..and that was it!

Got home and of course eveyrone wanted a pizza - so ordered some - I did not have ANY - but instead for supper all I had was a slice of toast w/peanut butter! Oh and after my dancing extravaganza I "rewarded" myself w/a large juicy navel orange - it was the best orange I ever had! lol

I smell popcorn downstairs now as dh is watching tv - but I dare not have any for fear of the dreaded water retention which might occur! a definite no-no the night before weigh-in.

Oh ya and the bad news is my gf from Toronto called earlier to tell me that her father-in-law passed away this afternoon - she is feeling guilty now for trying to plan a trip while he was ill - but frankly one can never predict these things.... He went into cardiac arrest again and they were unable to resuscitate him - at least he did not suffer too long! I believe the funeral is on Sunday, and then 7 days of mourning to follow. I feel very sad, altho I did not know him well I had met him on several occasions and had dinner at their home a few times while in Toronto.....such is life!

Frouf:)

Oh oh oh! Frouf, that's horrible about your friend's FIL! I'm so sorry!!

The DDR is a hoot, huh? I'm still very very very tempted to order that cheap one that plugs into the TV ... I know one day when these girls move out I'll have room to dance in front of a TV!!! Right now we have 7 TVs in this house and not ONE of them can I hook up a DDR to. One of these days though ...

Congrats on skipping that pizza and good luck for tomorrow's weigh-in!

Froufie, I'm so glad you like your DDR. I'm still on the easy level. On my game, once you get into moderate and expert levels, there are eight arrows to step on, as they go diagonally too!! :dizzy: Isn't it funny how you can go for a long time, and not even realize it?

I dealt with sciatica a while back because I was toting my 20 pound baby around on my right hip too much. It is, literally, a huge pain in the butt! :D I hope you feel better soon, and remember to not put too much strain on it.

I am definitely sick with the whole shebang. Blah. Oh well, at least I don't feel like eating a ton! Weigh-in's not till next Wednesday anyway, so I'm not too worried.

I had this fabulous chicken salad last night that my mom made. I'm going to get the recipe and post it later.

Angela
