Kathy, how did you like the vanilla pudding you bought? I made some FF/SF pistachio last night with soy milk and thought it tasted wonderful ... took a long time to set though. I wonder if it was because of the soy milk?

B: Grits with microwave bacon (points)
S: FF/SF yogurt w/lemon jello dry mix and 1/2 cup sliced apples
L: Wendy's side salad and baked potato
S: 2 Wasa crackers w/LC light cheese (points) and pineapple
D: Large salad w/lettuce, tomato, green/red peppers, "fried" okra, sugar snap peas, broiled cube steak
S: SF jello w/sliced strawberries

Talking Tuesday's Menu

Later,

Frouf

Deborah, I put the pudding powder into smoothies, so didn't have to worry if it set up or not! They had pistachio also and I debated on getting some. I think someone recently posted about making something using that and pineapple. Yummm ...

I made some pasticho pudding and added the crushed pineapple like someone said.. but mine never got thick enough.. it tasted yummy but kinda grossed me out because it was so soupy! but.. i'l still probably make it again can anyone tell me if there is a complete LIST of core foods that I can print off somewhere? my mom really wants to try it but she needs a list in front of her that she can eat from but doesn't want to actually join WW. I heard before that there is a complete list on the WW site but you have to be a member any help is appreciated! thanks

Kathy, I hope you enjoy the vanilla smoothie. I'm too lazy to do the whole blender thing ... it's just about all I can do to use the hand-held wire whisk to mix the pudding mix with milk. I'm such a lazy cook! The pistachio pudding has a good taste to me too, Pink ... and better yet, has a few morsels of actual pistachio nuts in it (I'll try to whisper that since a Core policeman somewhere will say that probably makes pistachio flavor non-Core! ) Even tonight, it still had not set fully, although it wasn't really runny. I think I'll reduce the milk by 1/4 cup and see if that helps. I'm not too sure about blending that taste with pineapple though ...

Pink, unfortunately, you DO have to be a paying member through the WW site to get a complete list of Core foods. There is a recipe website ... barbosdietkitchen.com, I think ... that has some links to some journals. I can't remember the specific link but one of them has a pretty thorough list of Core foods and should give your mom a pretty good idea of what she can and cannot eat. If you're unable to find the journal within that website, I'll try to go back and find it to help your mom out.

Pink, this is the link (I hope it works) that will get you to a pretty good summation of Core foods.

http://qotu.typepad.com/

On the right hand side of the first page, under a "Recent Comments" section, you'll see something about the WW Core Plan - the Juicy Details. This is where a good general overview of the program is contained.

I think on the WW website there is also someone named Kippy who posts under the WPA forum, who has a website which has different Core FAQs, at least one of which that tells you some of the things that are not Core foods.

These should give your mom a pretty good starting point if she doesn't want to pay for meetings or join the on-line program.

Deborah

I'm all alone tonight and ended up NOT eating anything except for ...

oh go ahead and shoot me. A hamburger from Sonic. I have decided to stop trying to lose and just maintain for a while. I was starving and thought what the heck, I'm eating it. But no cheese, and no fries, and no coke, etc. Just a burger with all the veggies. It was GRRRRREAT!

Not sure what a "sonic burger" is (we canucks are so deprived) but glad you enjoyed it - at least you didn't go overboard with the fries and coke! Now I am hungry!
