Waaaaaahhhh! I didn't have time to make my breakfast before leaving home so I have nothing to eat and I will *not* eat tuna salad. Blech!! Let me look around and see what I can find...

B: Found some peaches, a squeeze stick of Skippy peanut butter, bran flakes and milk. I'll make a breakfast from that.
L: Tuna salad
D: Grilled chicken salad from McDonald's. Not great, but not as bad as going home hungry and eating cookies.
Breakfast: Oatmeal made with skim and one banana cooked in
Lunch: Healthy Choice Split Pea Soup
Snack: Chocolate Monkey Shake (one cup skim, one banana, one packet Swiss Miss diet, and 2 ice cubes)
Dinner: Chicken Toscana at my very accomodating Italian Restaurant (chicken tenders poached in chicken broth, garlic, scallions, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and a little white wine over whole wheat angel hair). I'll have fresh steamed veggies of the day (usually green beans) and a mixed field greens salad with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I'll pass on the FREE FRESH GARLIC BREAD THAT THEY BRING TO YOUR TABLE IN UNLIMITED QUANITITIES!
Vickie - you are a VERY STRONG WOMAN (so will you let them actually bring the bread to the table - and not eat it??? or do you ask them to keep it away?). I don't think I could resist!!!!
I am truly impressed (and the rest of the meal sounds wonderful too!) Enjoy.
Frouf, I let them bring it to the table because Hubby likes to eat it. I hate to deny him, he's such a great guy. I tell myself that I don't want it because I'm having such a wonderful Core meal and....there are always enough leftovers for lunch!
I feel like such a pro!! This dinner is awesome! Last night's dinner was supposed to be more of the tilapia that I had thawed and I planned to make a sauce for it. Instead (since I was all alone last night) I got that hamburger.
So tonight I came home, broiled the fish, and made a sauce. I put a spoonful of FF sour cream, a few jalapenos (from a jar, not fresh), and 1/4 avocado in the food processor. Then I put in a little skim milk ... in the old days I would have added heavy cream ... and whirrrrrrred it up. Then drizzled it over the top of the fish and man oh man oh man was it great!!!!!
Kathy, your sauce sounds wonderful! I just learned that I like avocado. How do you know how to pick a good one and how long do they last? I thought I heard that they get brown fast. So what did you do with the other 3/4 of your avocado? Do you like the Haas better? Aren't I just FULL of questions!
Frannie, I feel like you are speaking a foreign language!!!! Is Dempster bodywise supposed to explain what becel is? I feel like a baby that hasn't learned English yet!
The other 3/4 I wrapped up really tight. Tomorrow for lunch I'm having black beans, and will top with some FF cheddar, FF sour cream, and the avocado sliced up. Maybe even some diced tomatoes. Sounds like there will be more toppings than beans!!
I love avocados and before wouldn't have touched them because like others have said, I didn't want to spend the points. They are such a good source of fat though, and we all know how important THAT is! And I think they were Haas.
Oh and I only bought this one Sunday. It was a little smooshy but not totally. It's hard to describe, but when I cut into it tonight it was already turning brown but I don't mind it.

Dempsters is a brand like Wonder. They have come out with a bread called Bodywise that is supposed to compete with the WW bread. 2 slices are 90 calories but because of the fibre content the 2 slices are only 1 point of the whole wheat kind anyways. It seems more satisfying then the WW bread.......
Becel.......margarine company (vickie I forget the brand you use ?) ......they have different kinds of Becel, light, fat free, taste like butter, I use the red label one....No Trans Fat, Non hydrogenated Low in Saturated Fat, 2 tsp is 25 calories ..... Frouf what do you use? They have a light one but everyone complains that it is mostly water......this was a big change for me....the Real Butter girl!
I use Smart Balance because it says it will lower cholesterol. I like it because it has canola and olive oil in it. I'm not sure why it isn't Core. When I don't saute, I count my Smart Balance as my healthy oil instead of eating more. It's one of my Core "tweaks". I think I'm getting plenty of good oil.

We are Becel users here too! I know it's a healthy margarine - non-hydrogenated...think I saw an ad for a Becel made w/olive oil? Have not seen it anywhere tho.
I also have not seen the Dempster's bodywise bread - but I will definitely be looking for it. This time I will freeze it tho....first shopping day after Core I bought a loaf of low point bread figuring I would be eating it - well I think I had only one slice that first week - of course no one else would touch it (eww it's icky and tastes like poo - a direct quote from the 13 yr old)...and I ended up chucking it by week 2 - who knew I would mostly give up bread?
I now prefer the occasional half or whole (gasp!) bagel. There is a place here that make MONTREAL STYLE BAGELS (ladies if you have never had a REAL bagel you have not lived). I originate from Montreal where my Dad owned a bagel bakery so I know of what I speak. Anyhow they have this huge wood burning oven and just going in there to smell the stuff is to die for. It's close to our home so we often go pick up hot bagels - come in many varieties and flavors - kids like the sesame, and dh (chocoholic) likes the chocolate chip ones! ...and there is nothing like a fresh warm bagel!
We sometimes go (used to go?) Sunday mornings pick up hot bagels and they have a little "restaurant" on the side so we'd have breakfast there (all sorts of bagel sandwiches and fillings and drinks/coffee/freshly squeezed orange juice)...now it would be a major treat for me! (oh that smoked salmon.....)
Hmmm ... bread that tastes like poo. I will have to think about that one. We have a Sara Lee Delightful bread that is 1 pt for 2 slices and is quite good, but mainly for toast. It is coarse and hole-y, so sandwiches aren't that great IMO.
I love bagels but they have to be from a bagel shop. It sounds like I would die from happiness in a place like your dad owned. And nothing like a warm bagel (I like the garlic or onion or "everything" varieties) with cream cheese spread on it.
yummy......fresh warm bagels.....sounds like a major treat over timmy's (Tim Horton Donuts comparable to...better then Dunkin Donuts but not as good as Krispy Kreme! There are 3 Tim franchises in Michigan that I know of)
frouf.....yes you will have to look for this bread and I, like you, don't eat very much bread so it goes in the freezer, and dh loves that Country Harvest Bread......but way to rich for me now. They also have the Hollywood Lite Bread here but I don't care for it......my Becel is 92% Canola oil and Sunflower oil......can't wait to try the Olive oil one, saw it the other day but still had some of this other....
