Simply Filling/Core Weekly Chat: Mar 19-25

new pages.

Down into the 163's. Slowly but surely.

pam920 03-19-2012 09:06 AM

Donkey here too, lol.

Tejas 03-19-2012 10:18 AM

Good morning all:

Thanks for the new pages, Pam.

I'm not getting on the scales after last night's ham dinner. I made the best lemon meringue pie I have ever made. I had one piece only, which was difficult...the others weren't so restrained, so thank goodness there is nothing left to tempt me today. Low calorie today is the plan.

We're having some minor storm activity, and it's welcome and the rain is needed.

beach bum 03-19-2012 02:57 PM

Hi Ladies:)

Was too busy to post this morning.Temps are in the low 60's and I have the windows opened to get the smell of the corned beef dinner out. Oh nothing better than fresh air.

PAM-:thanks: for the new pages and big congrats:cheer2: on your get down to 163.

RHONDA-I understand, ham is salty that what happen to me yesterday I was up 3 lbs but today i back to 165 after drinking likes of liquids.

Have a great day

Tejas 03-19-2012 05:09 PM

Tornado warnings...head for cover, Sandra!!

ontarget 03-19-2012 05:45 PM

Thanks. You, too, Rhonda!! Be safe!

Tejas 03-19-2012 06:37 PM

Yes, the storms are scheduled to be here in about 30 minutes. I'm supposed to go to a meeting of the gas drilling task force, but I think I'll stay home.

The skies NW of us are really, really dark.

I just heard that there were 18 tornados in the US last night!

ontarget 03-19-2012 07:07 PM

So far we've missed about everything but some wind. Our storms will prob get here on the next go around later tonight.

Tejas 03-20-2012 05:07 AM

4AM, storming still. NO tornados though.

beach bum 03-20-2012 10:23 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

What a beautiful morning the temps are already 55 and climbing. I must get down to the beach to walk or at lease walk to my mailbox and beyond.

I have laundry to do,and waiting for my handyman to put the bulb back on to my light fixture. It seem he came yesterday while I was out to hang the fixture back in place so I'm assuming that it works.

SANDRA & RHONDA-Do be careful with those tornado storms around you. I guess I never realized how lucky I am living here on the Cape.

Have a great day

Tejas 03-20-2012 12:41 PM

The storms are past, with no serious damage here. There is flooding elsewhere, and wind damage.

I'm finally going to go take a nap, after having been to tap practice and to the dentist.

Sandra, report in!

ontarget 03-20-2012 02:09 PM

I went to WW this am and was down another 2 pounds. Caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting a loss. I love being surprised like that.

Rhonda, I woke up some during the night but basically snored along with the thunder.

Maryann, I'm glad you're having a pretty day. We are, too. I actually missed thunderstorms when I lived in Montana. I would go to Safeway's produce dept to listen to the "thunder" when the watering system came on. Am I crazy? Well, we already know the answer to that. :dizzy:

Tejas 03-20-2012 03:23 PM

Congrats on the loss, Sandra. I believe you about Safeway, and I missed thunderstorms in Toronto, too. There were maybe 2 or 3 of them in the 30+ years I was there.

There were thunder crashes so loud here that the house shook. I had a wooden platter on the window sill, leaning against the window, and it fell. The dentist office, 1/2 mile from here had a number of pictures fall off their walls, and roof damage. I guess we had better check our roof.

All of Denton is sleep deprived today.

ontarget 03-20-2012 04:01 PM

You caught it worse than we did. Our main problem is flooding. We got 3.6" rain here at the house.

pam920 03-20-2012 05:21 PM

hey chicks. Good to hear Sandra and Rhonda survived the storms.

Sandra, congrats on your 2 lb loss. I'm sure you did something right, you just didn't realize it at the time. You are eating healthier than you thought.

Rhonda, you are probably napping. Those were some boomers to knock pics off the wall.

Maryann, enjoy your beautiful day.

We have a gorgeous day too. 85 and sunny, low humidity. We ordered hardwood for our great room. Had carpet but the dogs ruined it. Should have put hardwood in there to start with. They will install middle of April.

Didn't have internet this morning Still can't get into some of my games on FB.

ontarget 03-20-2012 07:30 PM

Pam, your new floors sound nice. I hope you were able to get to your games today.

Tejas 03-20-2012 09:45 PM

I love hardwood, but dogs would have scratched it. I'd like to take most of the carpet out, but I do like that it is quiet and soft.

I did take a nap, and it was really refreshing.

I made meatloaf for dinner tonight and it was pretty good. I mix beef and ground turkey, and use a shredded wheat biscuit instead of bread crumbs.

nancy237 03-20-2012 10:17 PM

Glad everyone survived the weather. Its been raining hard here all day.

I am searching for a labrador puppy. I decided to get a full blooded dog so I can do obedience shows like I used to do with my Golden Retreiver. If I get it now I can spend more time with it before going back to full time work.

Having a cookout here tomorrow and deciding what to make.

Today I worked on organizing my files..I still have a stack to file though.

beach bum 03-21-2012 11:38 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Just got home from the dentist. Will have my new bridge by the 3/29 and if the lab can't get it done by then,I have to wait a whole month as my dentist is going on vacation.

The cape is full of dense fog,and it hard to see where your going TG I don't have to go out this afternoon the temps are in the high 60's and might get up in the 70's. Have to get my handy man to put the A/C in shortly if this continues.

SANDRA-Congrats :cheer2: on your 2 lb weight loss. You must be kidding,I Hate Thunderstorms,as when I was small my mom told me not to look out of the window as I would go blind. Never stopped believing that and too this day I cringe when I here the thunder in the distant. Sorry about your 3.6 flooding around the house. Hope it didn't do any damage.

RHONDA-Yikes those storm are furious glad we don't get them up here.

PAM-:thanks:The sun is now shining since I posted. Have to start dinner and than put my laundry away. The hardwood floors will be a an added value to the house.

NANCY-I didn't know your were in to animal training. Hope you find a nice lab puppy.

Have a great day

Tejas 03-21-2012 01:33 PM

Nancy, I was wondering about your search for a puppy. I have had two labs, one a mix. The first one, Buddy, followed me home from school when I was about 10. He stayed a while, then roamed off again. The second one, Jake, was a mix with border collie, and I should have taken him to agility training. He was so amazingly friendly and sweet, except when he turned on a dime toward other male dogs at times. I had him for 10 years before he died.

Maryann, I think foggy days are nice, if you're not having to drive in it.

I hope you're all having a good day. I'm off to the gym soon, if I don't just do exercise here at home. I think I always work a little harder at the gym. There's a little competitive edge there I imagine.

ontarget 03-21-2012 01:39 PM

Nancy, I hope you find the perfect pet.

Maryann, I don't like fog either. Makes me think of werewolves.

Rhonda, your meatloaf sounds tasty. We're going to have Subway meatball sandwiches tonight. I'm picking them up on my way home from subbing. Subway/Subbing

I'm OP. I just need to check out P+ values for the Sub the Sub is going to have for dinner.

Tejas 03-21-2012 09:46 PM

I hope you enjoyed your sub, sub.

I did 45 minutes on the elliptical. I hope that compensates for the tortilla chips I ate at dinner  It probably does.

nancy237 03-21-2012 10:48 PM

Had a nice dinner party for 8 tonight.

The guys grilled the steaks & I did potatoes, salad , bread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

I decided I need to improve my entertaining dishes and have
company utensils & such. Its always such a chore to find 8 matching
glasses, utensils ect.

I bought wine glasses, 8 salad plates & 8 placemats today. I need plates,
tea pitchers, and utensils. I will find some on sale.

Funniest thing...I woke up the morning with a sleep crease across my face and its still there !! Can you beleive that 12 hours later ??

ontarget 03-22-2012 08:09 AM

Nancy, you must have been sleeping hard. Your dinner sounds yummy.

Rhonda, that sub was 15 pts. :yikes: I was trying not to use any WAP's before this weekend, but I had to spend a few. Disaster averted!

Tejas 03-22-2012 08:38 AM

15 points! You could have had a banana split instead

Nancy, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your entertaining, and good luck shopping!

I've got a busy day. That's good because I need to get rid of the 2 pounds I put back on! Dagnabit!

beach bum 03-22-2012 11:29 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Another foggy day, in Cape Cod town, but the temps are in the high 50's. Love this kind of weather, hope that our summers are going to be mild also.

Going out to the Crab Apple with Rita this afternoon, and If Alice's doggy is Ok I will met her again at the PB club.

RHONDA-We the fog again but its burning off and it should be sunny again by this afternoon. I think the cold air from the ocean in the evening and the warmer air coming in collide and made the fog for us.

SANDRA-No Werewolves around here just the fog. The fog reminds me of the horror movie The Fog but of course that was night and not in the day.

pam920 03-22-2012 02:34 PM

good afternoon chickies.

Had a busy day so far. We both went to dr. I had a bone density. Osteopenia. Why can't I take my calcium like a good girl? I bought some Viactiv, so maybe I will remember to take them. Got our taxes done. At first she said $2000 refund. I told her to double check, she made a mistake and she did. We have to pay $132. I'm happy with that. Hopefully our dr. will call later to give us our blood work results. I get a mammogram tomorrow, and I'll pick up a copy of the blood work.

Sandra, my dh likes the meatball sub. I prefer the chicken breast. We splurged and had mexican for lunch. We have been super good since we came back to KY. I'll eat light the rest of the day.

Maryann, I remember vacationing in Clearwater Beach, FL and every morning we had fog until past noon.

Rhonda, lets go get a banana split. I used to reward myself when I was pregnant with my second daughter. If I didn't gain weight, I went across the street to Baskin Robbins and had a banana split, lol.

I need a nap. We got up early and did grocery shopping, along with all the rest. Even stopped and bought my paint for the kitchen.

mamaduck 03-22-2012 07:32 PM

Hello ladies!
I was wondering if I can join your group here. I'm a Weight Watcher who loves the core plan and misses it. I cannot do PointsPlus!! I would love to join here for support and encouragement for both us.

ontarget 03-22-2012 08:51 PM

:welcome: Patricia! Hop right in and post away. We'd love to get to know you. Didn't you pop in here recently? I am thinking I saw your signature thingee before.

I subbed today. Curtis and I went out for steaks afterwards. I had sirloin, a dry baked potato, green beans and grilled squash. (No rolls!)

I planted 10 Rose of Sharon plants the other day after our big rain. They are looking alive. I was worried as they came in the mail over a week ago. I was keeping them in water till I could get them into the ground.

Now back to food: I had an "Almost Banana Split" this afternoon that was just 3 Points. I sliced a banana, drizzled 1 point of chocolate syrup on top along with a chopped Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Turtle Candy (2 pts), and 2 T of ff Cool Whip. 3 pts total! It was decadent!!!

mamaduck 03-22-2012 10:12 PM

Hello!! Sandra, you got me curious. So I looked at my posts. I came in here last summer. Oh well, maybe you saw me (or my siggy) somewhere else. :D

I don't know why I'm still awake tonight. I got up this morning at 3:45 because all I was doing to lying in bed waiting for the alarm to go off. So I got up and took my shower. About 2:00 this afternoon, I thought I was going to die! :dizzy: I still think it's daylight saving time that is hitting me. It's really hard for me to wind down when it's still light outside. During the summer, it will still be light around 10 p.m. Ugh.

Well, I'm going to go and try to do something to get ready for bed. Find something to wear for tomorrow. Good night all. Be back tomorrow.

Tejas 03-22-2012 10:44 PM

Patricia, I'm with Sandra. You were here, but welcome back. I couldn't sleep last night either. Maybe it's the Spring Equinox that's got us awake.

Sandra, your banana split sounds good. I guess Pam and I should follow your good example. Your dinner sounds good too; good for you for not eating any bread.

We had leftover meatloaf and green beans.

pam920 03-23-2012 12:23 AM

Patricia, your name is familiar to me too. Welcome back.

Sandra, you did good. Your faux banana split sounds yummy.

Rhonda, I was good the rest of the day/evening. I did get hungry again. I also didn't have breakfast, due to blood work, so the mexican food was brunch, lol. I had a chicken breast on light whole wheat bread with a wedge of laughing cow. I've been weighing myself at night before I turn in and don't see any damage. I've been really good about my food for the past month, so this one slip should be okay.

Nighty, night. Hope you all get a good nights sleep.

mamaduck 03-23-2012 07:00 AM

Good Morning!!
You guys are funny. I must have made quite an impression because the last time I posted on this forum was October 2009! Unless there's an imposter here. I hope she's nice. :D Anyway, please go ahead and check my profile for my posts, if you like. :?:

I hope I can still post here?

Tejas 03-23-2012 10:25 AM

OK, Chickies, start investigating who this woman really is! Is she a troll from another board? Are we being hacked? Is this just a ruse to get our great weight-loss tips and market them?

Of course, you can stay. As you can see we are all senile. I imagine someone else has the same signature.

I lost one of those two pounds that snuck back on. I'm going to be super good today and tomorrow because I have a real temptation coming on Sunday--lunch at an Italian restaurant with DH's second child, older daughter and her husband. Her BD was yesterday and we're taking them out. She says the restaurant has a good salad. She is skinny as a rail, what would she know?!

beach bum 03-23-2012 10:48 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Looks like it going to rain again, and I was planning to go down to the beach and get some walking done.

Nothing new, have to go to the grocery store to buy bread, eggs & milk.

PAM-OHHHHH!!!!What a disappointment after thinking you were getting back $2000 you are now only getting back $154. Didn't have fog this morning just spritzing,it stropped now.

MAMMA DUCKWelcome to the board but I do remember you coming to the thread already. I couldn't do either points or the core. My leader was shocked the neither one worked for me. So now I counting and cycling calories.

SANDRA-You did good with your mocked Banana Split you should pattern this. I Mock my splits also by using yogurt on the banana with PB and s/f choc syrup on top.

RHONDA- Congrats on your 1 lb gone from the sneaky two that came.I went up 2 lbs today also but I had a pc of apple pie yesterday,Hopefully if I'm good, I will lose the 2 by tomorrow's W-I.

Have great day

pam920 03-23-2012 11:26 AM

good morning chicks.

Maryann, I have to PAY $132. I wasn't disappointed. I was relieved we didn't have to pay more. Did not expect a refund. It's cloudy here today. Looks like rain.

Patricia, we are all old and senile. Our memory is not the best. So, I'm thinking someone with a similar name stopped in here recently. No way would we remember way back in 2009. :?: I think it's the MOM part of your signature that has us confused.

Busy painting the kitchen. Taking a break. Have to get my mammogram at 4 pm so I'm holding off with my shower until I have to get ready.

Rhonda, congrats on getting rid of that stubborn pound. The scale was kind to me this morning after eating mexican yesterday.

ontarget 03-23-2012 07:54 PM

Patricia, I think someone recently posted here that had the little swimming ducks in her signature. That's what I am remembering. We're glad you're here. How was your day? Any new recipe or food ideas you'd like to share?

Pam, I hope your test went well. I postponed my echo-stress test I was to take Monday till June. I like your "celery."

Rhonda, you're right about Doyle's daughter. She's a beautiful lady, isn't she? Enjoy your meal. Congrats on sending that pound away. :woohoo:

Maryann, sounds like you had a laidback day. I'll bet you enjoyed it.

Vickie? How are you?

I used 5 WAPs today. Still have oodles for the weekend, so all should go well. I prob won't be back here till late Sunday or Monday. Ya'll have a great weekend!

pam920 03-23-2012 09:00 PM

Sandra, why did you postpone your echo? Curious when you returned to WW meeting,, did they change your points? It was 29 for almost everyone, when they changed it a year ago. Heard they lowered it to 26.

My blood work came back super great. i have to brag. I know it has to be the exercise along with eating right.

Cholesterol 114
Triglycerides 59.
LDL 48
HDL 54 (this was a tough one for me to get up, was 28 at one point and 48 was the highest it ever was, until now)
Glucose 95

The liver panels are elevated again. I don't like that and want to quit taking lipitor and niaspan. I will ask dr. again, it I can quit them and see what the blood work shows in Sept.

Since we all remembered mammaduck, I thought I'd go back a few weeks to see if we were all going crazy. We all welcomed her to the board the beginning of March, but her post is gone, so she may have deleted it. We called her mommaduck and Patricia, so it has to be her. It must have slipped her mind that she was here. Patricia, please join us. we are a nutty bunch but harmless.

I made some cookies tonight. My sis sent me the recipe.

Tejas 03-23-2012 09:58 PM

A cookie recipe! Yea!! I'll make those.

I made chicken in a southwestern sauce--in the crockpot--and it was so tender it fell off the bone.

I'm tired tonight.

Pam, congrats on the bloodwork. Good going!

nancy237 03-23-2012 11:24 PM

I got lots done today.

My son is doing an outdoor trip this weekend where they select 4 from a group of 24 to get a job with the company. Its a wilderness camp for high risk kids.
Hoping good things for him.

I took a large load of trash to our county disposal site today. It came from all my sorting so it felt great !!

Mamaduck..at least you made a lasting impression on us LOL We don't mean to interrogate you, we are just so excited about any memory we still have :lol3:

Going to see Hunger Games tomorrow. I hope to clean the pool & spray weeds before the movie. Last night I watched Clint Eastwood in Blood Work. It was a good suspense movie .
