Default Two WW Online Questions

I'm pretty sure I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the free week + 3 months of WW Online. I've always had the WW At Home kit so before I do the online I have two questions:

1. Do they do a good job of explaining their new program online? I always liked having the materials on had (with WW At Home) so I could always refer back to it if I had questions.

2. Once you're online, can you buy some booklets, like the one that list points/Filling Foods for almost everything? With WW At Home I got those booklets and I always used them (and I'm not always at a computer - I'd like to get the booklet to have on me when I'm away from a computer).

Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I think the best you can do is print stuff off from the website in order to have paper copies, unless you want to purchase the materials separately. When you subscribe to eTools, you get eTools. They do explain the new program pretty well, and there are always people you can ask if you have questions. All of the info (filling foods list, for example) you need will be there, you just won't be sent any booklets or anything.

The online stuff is a bit confusing to follow but it does explain the program. In a nut shell, you track points but focus on filling foods (previously known as core foods). The filling foods are noted with a green diamond to identify them.

I started with just the online stuff and our at work session did give us the books. They were not going to since our session ended right when the new program was rolled out.

What you could do -- fairly cheaply. go to a center for one meeting. They are running free registration. That way you just pay the meeting fee and get the books.

OR just ask away!

Hm. Now I'm not sure if I'll do online. I really wish they'd be more flexible - let you take advantage of all the online tools but also get (buy) hard copies if needed. It should't be so hard!

Oh, you can buy the @Home kit if you want the materials - I thought you were looking to get hard copies with no extra expense. Either ordering an @Home kit or doing as Paula suggested and going to one meeting will get you hard copies, just have to purchase them is all. Sorry, I misunderstood you!

No, you didn't misunderstand me. But the cost of the At Home Kit + Online is way, way too much. I was just hoping you could buy WW Online, then buy the book separate to supplement the online experience. Still scratching my head over why that can't be done.

So....I'm still thinking about it. I may just have to stick to the "old" plan and not update my WW stuff this time around.

I'm guessing one meeting (to get the hard copies) would be $13. I don't know of any books you could get any cheaper, but I haven't looked around either.

Why don't they sell the booklets from the meetings on line - because people would be buying them by the gross and selling them on ebay. Go to a meeting if you want printed materials. One meeting is not that much.

But you would have to register as well as Online and meetings are totally seperate of each other. I tried doing this that is why I know.

To attend just one meeting to get the materials is $42.00 (in Canada)

Registration $25.00 Meeting $17.00

You can also go into any WW facility and just buy the books with out being a paid member.

A lot of centres are running a free registration promotion until the end of January. Not sure about Ontario, but here in Alberta they are (at least that is what it says on their website).

One of my pet peeves about WW is that for us returnees, we should just be able to pay the meeting fees if we don't need the materials again. But, anyway, that is another matter.

Just curious, a couple of you said just go to a meeting and get the books it only costs $13.00 but any time I went it took 12 weeks to get all the books which would cost you $156.00. Are there actually places that would give you all the books if you asked?

Mine would make me go for the whole length of time to get each book, one week at a time. It might be cheaper to buy them on Ebay.
