Yum! Thanks Sandra. I forgot to tell you that only a one pound gain is awesome. I had 6 pounds up from my couple of months away.
|
Vickie, sometimes I also add 1/2 a frozen banana. The shake is really smoother with the banana, but the last 2 days I've gone bananaless.
Even though I just gained 1 lb since we got to Montana--while we were in Montana I lost 3 lbs one week, so I regained that 3 plus 1 more. In my mind I'm thinking I gained 1 lb. Does that make sense? |
Heck yes....you officially only gained one pound and that's all I'd claim. How's the honeymoon going?
|
I've read all the posts, but I'm headed to bed.
I'll write in the morning because a meeting got cancelled  Night all, |
Vickie, the honeymoon got a little testy this afternoon, so I made some cottage cheese pancakes. Later for dinner I made Core spaghetti/meatsauce. How are you doing?
Rhonda, I'll be watching for your post in the morning. Get some rest. |
Good Morning Chicks! I'm up early to get out of the cleaning lady's way. I did great yesterday. Now to add another day to that.
Good luck to all of you newbies, including Sandra! ;) |
Good morning:
I was up with the birds this morning, but at least I did sleep for a full 6 hours. Not enough, but better than the night before. Yes, I have tried melatoin and it works. But, it can also be, in the long run, tough on the kidneys. So, I use it very sparingly and don't even have any in the house. Like Vickie, I prefer milk with vanilla. I add Splenda and heat it. It is soothing, and there actually is a protein in milk that can help you sleep. This week has been non-stop, but it's almost over. Tomorrow we are going over to the Jackson Michigan area for the weekend. DH has a nephew who is a commercial pilot. He and his pilot friends live on a private airstrip and they host an annual "fly in." It's a day of going up in private planes and helicopters, then eating and drinking a lot. It's my third time to go, and I really enjoy going there: it's totally different from my normal life. I'll try to control myself! I'm sure I've gained back everything I lost, but I think it will disappear quickly. It's wonderful to read about the successes some are having. It's been years since I managed to lose 6 pounds in a week. I'm not even managing that in a month! But, I know that I'm eating in a much healthier way and learning a lot about what food means and how to enjoy it more instead of scarfing whatever is put in front of me. I'm going to do some aerobics this morning, which I haven't managed to do even once this week. But, I've been walking as I normally do. I hope no one is suffering too much from the wild ride on the stock exchanges. It all reminds me of the curse: may you live in interesting times! Have a great OP day  Rhonda |
Rhonda, I have melatonin in the house house all the time but I've never taken it. My dog gets 3 mg's twice a day to help her deal with her atypical Cushings. I didn't know that it was hard on the kidneys though. It was prescribed by the top Vet at the University of Tennessee whom is an expert on canine Cushings.
No stock market for us. We got out when we retired. It was too stressful for us to deal with. |
Hi Vickie:
Maybe the Cushings is worse than the potential threat to the kidneys. It's always about balancing risks. Rhonda |
I think you're right. The Cushings IS worse.
|
... about 2x's mth I give my son melatonin to help him catch-up on his sleep (he'll stay awake all night till morning if you let him & yes - it HAS happened) & I tested it for myself - no side effects.
We use "Vivitas" liquid melatonin & mix it in with a glass of juice & water 1 hr before bedtime. The measurement for Adults is 1ml daily not to exceed 4 weeks. /cheryl |
Good Morning ladies:)
Not going to WW this morning as of something wrong with our car,and Leo doesn't want me to drive it. Leo's taking it to the Toyota dealer this morning instead. Leo told me to take a week off from WW,you'll than lose 6 lbs. From his mouth to scales ears [if it has ears]:lol3::lol3: I W-I on my own scale and I'm 163 and WW is 2 lbs higher than mine, so I'm 165. :carrot:Lost a 1 lb from last week.:carrot: Problem I keep on losing & gaining the same 1-2 lbs. Have no idea what causing this. I'm going back to my low carbing [using core food instead]and see what happens.I also decided to track points with the core foods and see how many calories I really taking in. Something has to give some where. VICKIE-Thanks :thanks:for the kind words & prayers, at the radiation dept they but a dye into the area where the port was put in,and they said that the port was put in right and it didn't move. They only thing its sitting higher then they usually see,but the doctor said it was still ok. SANDRA-Never:no: thought of having a massage. I won a coupon for a free massage,on it just a matter of finding it. PAULA-I only go on my scale 15 mins before I go to the meeting as so far my scale & WW have a 2 lb + difference. I have a issued weighing in everyday it makes me nuts:crazy: seeing the scale going up & down. Thanks :thanks:for your thoughts & prayers. My shoulder is feeling a lot better this morning, hopefully it gets better on it own than I don't have to see the doctor, but I will definitely keep you informed. Whenever I put something in the freezer I always color label it so I know what it is.Leo doesn't label so I always know which ones his food and which ones are mine. RHONDA- Quote:
Have a great morning, Hugs :) |
Maryann ... did you think about switching things up with the "Wendie Plan"? There's an info thread posted on the WW Board ....:)
|
Hey chicks! Crazy afternoon, so all I have time to do is read the posts. TTFN

Hi there. We ran some errands and did some shopping today. In the midst of it all we ate at Olive Garden. Rhonda, I drank water. You'd be proud of me. You know how badly I wanted my wine.
Now I want to tell ya'll what's going on here now through the weekend. There's what's called "Antique Alley." It's not in an alley and it's hardly antiques. What it is is continuous yard sales along about 30 miles of road. It goes from Maypearl to Godley via Cleburne. We're going to "hit it" tomorrow. I'll be looking for goodies to go in flowerbeds. Antique Alley is held twice a year. Yep, those 30 miles will be hard to get down quickly, so if folks are in a hurry, they'll have to look for another route. Rhonda, maybe we can "hit it" together sometime. Have fun at Michigan. Tell my young cuz I said hello. I recently got some hypnosis CD's. (weightloss and sports-related). I get extremely relaxed listening to them and usually nod off. I've only taken Tylenol PM one time since I got them--and I've been using them for about 2 months. Maryann, let us know if you get a massage and it helps. Curtis and I swear by them. |
