Hi All:
It's a really quite board this week. DH and I finally made our trip to Niagara Falls, NY, to sort out his immigration matters. It was nothing serious and all is taken care of. He just had to cross the border and come back into Canada to present his "papers." We did a little grocery shopping and had lunch at Applebee's. I had chicken, broccoli and new potatoes. He had a heart-attack-on-plate burger and I took a bite of it, only one bite. It was a long day, about 8 hours, and much of it in stalled traffic because of construction. It probably added a good hour to the trip. But, it's done and we got home safely. I hope you've all had a good Core day. Rhonda |
Nancy, "fuzzy headed , tight pants ,goofy guy from way back???" That's so funny!! I have some of his sweatin to the oldies tapes, and I always liked them. Richard is pretty strange, but his energy can really get you going!!
Paula, I didn't hear about the crash, but I wouldn't have wanted to be there to see it either. How sad. Well, I wi tonight and I gained .6! I was very happy with that. I thought my gain was going to be a couple pounds, so slightly over 1/2 pound really made me happy. Especially if you only knew all the junk I ate. But I did get a lot of bike riding in, and that must have helped. I have been staying up way too late all week, watching the olympics. I can't wait for the weekend so I can sleep in! |
Hi there. We are at Missoula at an RV park that's in a bowl. That means I don't have good reception for my laptop/via cellphone connection. I'll try to get on here when I can. I was going to rejoin WW in the AM; however, Curtis is going on a fishing trip with a buddy and I will be left without transportation. I'm about 7 miles out of town. I will begin WW in the AM anyway. Please send me good vibes. I need them.
I apologize for not responding to each of you. I hope you're all doingwell. |
Morning all:
I meant to write last night that it is very sweet of Paula to get her house cleaned up for all of us to visit while she's away on vacation. Very, very thougtful of her ;) I maintained my 2 pound loss this week! So, I get to change my ticker and bask in my glory  I hope I can keep on losing. Rhonda |
Congratulations, Rhonda. It's not easy to maintain while traveling.
Tracie, that's not a bad gain at all. We've been staying up late watching the games, too. Last night I was whooping and hollering around midnight. Those gymnasts are amazing, aren't they? I'm alone in the condo. This doesn't happen often at all. Curtis is gone fishing with a buddy and should be home shortly after lunch. I'm enjoying my alone time. Don't get much of that. Don't really want much of that. I was going to join WW this AM but have no wheels. I may go tomorrow. If not, I'll go next week. I really like the Fri morning meeting and am not familiar with the Saturday one. I am op. Had shredded wheat for bfast. Now I'm just chilling watching Olympic coverage on TV. Life is good. |
Sue and Amy, welcome to the boards. I'm Texan, too. Guess you could tell that by my avatar, though.
Frouf, I have my sight on the scales and will release the arrow soon. Paula, I guess you're about ready to leave for your trip. I agree with Frouf. Alcohol on vacation doesn't count. Sloan, I am praying for Vance. I hope his depression lessens soon. Bless his heart. :hugs: Maryann. Tracie, Rhonda will be less than 100 miles from me when she moves to Denton. |
Hey chicks! I'm almost through the first full week of school :carrot: It's gone pretty well, but I'm still trying to whip my fourth period class into shape. Very, very chatty and immature for 10th and 11th grade.
Thanks for the prayers for my dh. He's basically the same. He does have some good days, but they are few and far between. I don't want to make him sound like an invalid, 'cause he's not. He works an 8 hour day. It's just that on many days, that's all he is able to do. We spend a lot of time at home resting. I'm staying op and sporadically getting in some exercise. I think I've maintained this week, but that's okay with me! I'm going to have to get ready for class. Sorry I can't speak to each of you. Just know that I am thinking good thoughts for you all. Hope you all have a great core weekend. |
Hi Ladies:)
Feeling a lot better the problem was internal & external hemorrhoids.Had the internal 8 years ago. The doctor told me that bright red bleed is alway the Big H [inner & outer]As far as the cramps & pains on low part were simply from contractions from the ordeal.. He told me to use Witch Hazel and gave me a prescription for a cream to use in that area. Leo is feeling super great this morning we are heading out to Walmart and than to the grocery store. I'm so :)happy:) as I got my Leo back,we doing things together again. RHONDA-You're correct i asked my doctor about Higher fiber & low fat diets and he agreed it had nothing to do with the symptoms that I was having. Big congrats on your 2 lb weight loss.Glad that your finally made Niagara Falls, its beautiful country up there. What is a Heart attach on a burger????Never heard of them. Congrats on your maintaining this week. NANCY-Thanks for the well wishes, the both of us are feeling a lot better today. The Core is a healthy program and I'm not going to go off of it. SUE-I only have one type of Richard Simmons its a firming type but I've since broke stretchy band that goes with it.He has lots of fun types but if I buy another exercising tape Leo will kill me. Quote:
TRACIE-That .6 is water retention in some form you lose it in no time. I hate when that happens to me.I'm going back on HARD CORE this week allowing me 2 WPA's per day. SANDRA-Thanks for the hugs. SLOAN-Still praying for your DH.Good Luck with your 10 & 11 grades. I know what your going though as my sister was a teacher years ago before she retired. She likes being a real estate agent better. Hugs :) |
I am taking my oldest to college tomorrow and I am really not handling
this very well. I am taking it out on the rest of my family because I am so sad and feel like I am losing my first kid. I am really close to my boys and was a single parent most of their childhood and I am sorta lost with them growing up and leaving home. I need all the prayers I can get!!! |
Awwww, Nancy. Hang in there. Change is rarely easy, but you might be surprised at all the possibilities that open up for him and you will share in his successes.
Rhonda |
Maryann, I think Rhonda was saying "Heart Attack on a Bun" referring to the high fat in hamburgers.
Sloan, I hope dh's good days get closer and closer together. Now to that 4th period class--I know you'll get them settled down and ready to learn soon. I remember a trick I learned at TCU for an unruly or talkative student. I would walk over to his desk and whisper in his ear, "You know the three reasons why you shouldn't do that." Then I'd walk away and leave him wondering what the 3 reasons were. Sometimes that would work; sometimes not. Nancy, Rhonda has good advice here for you. Keep your chin up. You're not losing him. |
Hello All,
I tried to post this morning but the keyboard had gotten stuck and when I pulled on it, it came unplugged :o I pretended to be a helpless female and waited for dh to come home and fix it :^:. This week I was waaaaaaay off program. TOM came and I was carb loading. I don't think I did too bad (except the wine) but it definitely wasn't core. My scale said I lost .4 this morning and I will take it! Tonight we had a nice dinner (which except for the wine would have even been core) to celebrate dh's last radiation treatment :woohoo: Unfortunately the last three were stronger and have knocked him out! Now he has a break until surgery the end of Sept. So we're going camping a week from Sunday, hope he feels better. Sandra - I was talking about you yesterday. DH and I were watching the Olympics on the Korean language channel (we got all kinds of new weird channels for the month), and they were showing archery, it was pretty interesting, but I had little idea what was going on since I didn't understand the announcers. What is the big Y-shaped thing sticking out in front of the bow? It was a re-curve bow and dh thought it was probably for balance? Ronda - Congrats on the 2 lbs!!! :broc: Nancy - you sound like my mom. It was 20+ years ago, but I remember how upset she was, while I was excited to go away. She learned to adjust and I'm sure you will too. Hang in there. Maryanne & Sloan - for your dh. Mine may drive me crazy before this is done. Paula - hope you have a great vacation. Tracie - Well I should go upstairs, dh was pouting because I told him I wasn't talking to him anymore because he doesn't listen, I need to go make nice :dizzy:. Have a great weekend everyone. -Tech |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Nothing new here ,except Leo is having a hard time canceling our airline tickets from United.Besides the agent being from another country and she didn't speak English, Leo had a difficult time trying to understand what she was saying. We have bought cancellation insurance a whole $241 per person, but she said Lung Cancer is not a good excuse to cancel. He tried the refund depart this morning, but there business hours are Mon-Fri. Our trip was supposed to be Sept 10,so we don't have too much time left. When we go to the center this Monday for treatment we're going to asked the doctors to both write a letter to United and hopefully get our money back. NANCY-Sending prayers & hugs  your way. I can relate to your story as that happened to me 20 years ago with my DD I did more crying than she did,and she was only one hour away in Pleasantville NY.You'll get use to the it,but wait until they bring their buddies home for sleep in.I remember bodies all over the livingroom floor. SANDRA-Thanks for the reminder.Oh forget about those fast food greasy hamburgers. I try to stay away from them as much as possible but they do call my name when Leo & I go out to eat. TECH-I get that some times with my computer [sticky keys]when its very humid in the room. I'm typing faster than it can appear on the monitor. :carrot:Congrats:carrot: on your .4 that almost 1/2 lb. you did great, its better than the other way.All my best to you & your DH.during these trying times. We all have to stick together, sending lot of prayers your way. Have to go,will be back later Hugs :) |
Hi Chickies. Got my house cleaned and need to get my grocery shopping done. Then I'll be set for the weekend. Probably get some cooking in as I have surgery Monday and probably won't want to do much. It's only out patient and I'm supposed to be able to go back to work on Wednesday so we will see. I'm having my bladder taped up as having kids has tipped it and coughing, sneezing and running makes me feel like a kid being potty trained again. Not fun, but I'll be happy when I don't have this problem any more.
Rhonda, WTG on the maintain. Maintaining is good, much better than a gain! Sloanie, glad things are going well for you at school! Whip that 4th hour into shape! Nancy, you will be fine. It's all a part of life and this is something very important for your child. Donna, keep up the good work. .4 is .4 and any loss is good! BB, Have your husband call back until he can get someone that speaks english. I don't think the person must have comprehended what was going on. Medical problems are definitely good reasons for cancelling your airline tickets. Sandra, where is Missoula? I've heard of it, but not sure where it is? |
Hi All:
Well, it's NOT funny but I laughed when I read that the person said cancer isn't a reason to cancel. The %$#(@ it's not. The doctors will write the letter and you will get your refund, no doubt! I know what it is to feel like a kid being potty trained, and I've never even given birth! Yes, DH had a hamburger that should kill just by looking at it. :cbg: I almost hated him ;) Donna, my DH said to me that I didn't listen. I said "that's right" and he will never let me forget it! It was a joke, but he'll never let me forget it. I've done the little bit of grocery shopping I needed to do and I am going to take a nap :tired: It's a beautiful day, with no rain in the forecast, but I've been up since 6:30. BBL, Rhonda |
