What a lot of water!
Tracie, you've got a good attitude. The weight will come off. I'm going to try those cookies also! ummm, maybe the cheescake also! I had another long day, so I'm off to bed, hoping to sleep. Rhonda |
Angela-I'm so glad you are out of harm's way. :rain: I've already said a prayer for your safety, power and fresh water. Hang in there!
Tracie-don't despair! Gain or loss, the group is still behind you. :grouphug: Thanks for the :chockiss: suggestions chicks, I knew I could count on ya'll. Rhonda-may the sandman give you an extra dose of "sand" tonight. I want to try the two new recipes that were posted. The chicken and the cheese cake really sound good. :chef: It has really helped me to try new things! I got a new black bean and corn salad recipe from the core list on the recipe czar. It has to marinate overnight, so I haven't tasted it. I'll let you know how it tastes TTFN |
Angela, that's a lot of water. I hope you don't have too many difficulties as a result.
I made those cookies. They are awesome. Just be careful not to overindulge or you will regret it. (Know what I mean?) I'm going to do 15 min 3X this week on the :ebike:. Other than that, I'm still lugging waterhoses around the 2 acres here. |
Good morning everyone. Angela, keeping you in my thoughts to stay dry. Where is your store located? Hopefully on high ground.
I'm so glad everyone is excited about the challenge. I've got a lot of ideas for the coming weeks - some food related and some exercise related. Should be a good motivator. I did find a couple more receipes to try next week. I'll let you know what I make this weekend. I definatly need to cook something for lunches - my freezer stock is gone! Tracie, glad the little blip didn't throw you. You've got the right attitude - get right back to it. No one can just lose - I think everyone has times when they go up and then back down. I know I do!! Well, got to get ready to leave for work. MIL is coming today - usually Thursdays dd goes to my moms but with everything going on not sure when she will be able to watch her. I'm going to call camp and see if I can have her go on thursdays as well. She is signed up for m/w/f. BBL |
Angela-thinking of you. Are you all still okay?
Sandra-How are you today. I'm still prayin' for you and your guys. Paula-How's your dad? Hope he is doin' well. Tracie-Have you looked at the OATS procedure, yet? Rhonda-Hope you're getting some rest! Noussa-How's your weather? It's raining here and a little cooler, sorry! Niki-How's it goin'? I'm impressed with your loss so far! As for me, I'm glad this week is an exercise challenge 'cause today has been way off :ink: I'll be fine tomorrow and back on core. I do plan to walk on the treadmill this afternoon. :woops: It is so awesome to be able to tell on myself and know that you guys will understand. |
Hi ladies, I had a busy day today, felt like I was running all day long. I took a break from cooking dinner, making breaded chicken cutlets for hubby and kids, I made mine with cornmeal, soy parmesan and lots of spices, I sprayed them with olive oil and they are baking.
Angela hope all is well. Thanks Sloan, I am really determined to get this weight off and since I started exercising I notice a big difference. Sandra I hope all is well with Curtis I will be back in a bit, my kids are hungry, guess I better go feed them :) |
Wow guys, this is absolutely unbelievable. The river here in Cedar Rapids is now estimated to be at 28 feet deep, and won't even crest until tomorrow. (Flood stage is 12 ft.) Much of our downtown area is under water and more of the city is without power. All main bridges through town are closed but one, which is down to one lane only. We lost power this morning for a few hours due to a severe thunderstorm, but have it back now, at least for the time being. It has stormed twice today here already, and another is on the way, causing flash flooding on top of the amazing flooding already happening. Our main water treatment plant has lost power, so we're down to 25% capacity. Currently our water is still clean, but we are advised to limit usage. That picture I posted yesterday is NOTHING compared to what it looks like now.
Here are some pics I found (don't worry, I didn't take these :) ) http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nergytower.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...NT/1stSTNE.jpg I hope our power stays on, but if it doesn't, we will still be fine as far as water goes. (I hope.) I'll keep in touch. :D Angela |
I just watched some video clips about Cedar Rapids on the 'net...MSNBC. Start putting water in clean containers!!!!!
MY goodness, you're having a horrible time there! God bless. Rhonda |
Wow that is awful, hope you guys don't lose power. Do as Rhonda says and start putting water in clean containers!
Keep safe! |
OMG Angela! Are you guys able to get to work, store, etc. or is the whole city immobilized by all of the water? I just hope you are able to keep power and clean water. Can you get any bottled water or is it already sold out at the stores? I'm still prayin' for you guys!

Oh Angela....SO scary. I'd be filling up the bathtubs and everything else I could find. I'm praying for you all.

Angela, keeping you in my thoughts. Definalty store water.
Sloan, dad is OK. They moved him to rehab tuesday. It set him back, which the nurses say is normal. I went to see him tonight and he was sleeping. I'm not feeling too great about things now, I expected to see immediate improvements. Had a long talk with my niece who works at anothe rehab and it could take a week before he is responding to therapy. One day at a time. Thanks for asking. Needless to say with everything going on (the constant up and down) its a stuggle to stay on track. I'm trying and doing well, but I eat when I'm upset. BBL |
Thank you for your prayers and best wishes. Curtis and I have been busy all day mowing, watering, and moving more "stuff" from the camper trailer into our new home. It's kind of like we're trying to get a ton of stuff done in one day. Tomorrow we have to be at the hospital by 11:30. His procedure is at !. We're both very optimistic. We're just ready to get the test overwith.
I talked to my brother today. He's in good spirits, too. Wow! Am I sounding old or what? All this talk of hospitals! This is not really like me. As to exercise--I didn't get on the :ebike: today, but I drug waterhoses all around the pond. I think that should count for something. Angela, what a nightmare! Please keep safe. |
Wow Angela! Can't believe the water!! Like everyone else says, start filling containers with water, just in case.
Sloanie, I did look into the oats procedure and I will talk to my doctor about it, but it did mention that conditions like osteoarthritus can not be treated with the oats procedure and I believe this is the type of arthtritus I have in my knee. But I'm not positive so I will definitely talk to my doctor about this. Thanks for the info!! |
Mornin' everyone!
Angela, are you okay this morning? I'm watching the national news and seeing all the water. Let us know how you are. Sandra-praying for you and Curtis this morning. Can't wait to hear that you are home and all is well. Have a great day, chicks :coffee: |
