Marinated Steak Tips at Restaurant

  • Hi Ladies,

I did search to see if this question has been asked before but didn't see anything... I am thinking of ordering a Steak House Salad tonight for dinner at a Birthday Party in an Irish Pub:

Marinated Sirloin Steak Tips, romaine lettuce, onions, tomatoes, hold the blue cheese, and oil & vinegar on the side.

Everything but the marinade is Core (right?) but any suggestions on how to count the points in the steak tip marinade? What have you done in the past?

Thanks so much for your help!
  • I wouldn't think you would have to count more than 1 or 2 points for the marinade. This was brought up at a ww meeting and the leader said 1-2 points would be sufficient for marinades that you aren't sure what is in them. I use a marinade at home and the only thing non-core is 1 tsp brown sugar splenda. Because I am using the marinade on 6-7 portions of meat, I don't worry about it. All the rest of the ingredients are core.

  • Thanks Tracie! I was thinking of counting it as 2 points but you know those times when you think you're right on a low point count and you end up being WAY off? I felt like this could very well be one of those times. =) I feel better now with a ww meeting confirmation!

    Thanks again.
