Happy Monday everyone!! Only 4 days of work until I'm on vacation for 2 whole weeks!!! WOO HOO! Can't wait......I did start packing this weekend. I am going to make the core chocolate cake tonight and then freeze it. It will be a great snack for me to have in the cottage. I made Sandra's Mexican Core'n bread that she posted last week. YUMMY! It made 10 good size servings. I have 5 in the freezer. I may bring a couple of those as well. I plan on breakfast and lunches in the cottage and then dinner out. I'm really not going to cook - so any meals I make are quick ones.

I have a Sarah brag -- remember how last week I wrote about her eating salads. Well, we went out to dinner on Saturday and she wanted a cheese burger. She is 4 1/2 and has never wanted to go near a burger. I thought for sure she would end up not wanting it once it came, I tried to get her to order something else. Well, she ate 3/4 of it! Then last night she was eating raw, red onion. She thought it was spicey but yummy! I'm just so happy she is now trying different things! Just needed to share.

Sandra, congrats to Curtis. The pictures is great. Good luck at the tournament. And thanks for the great recipe.

Coco, your meal did not sound that bad at all. The extra fat shouldn't throw you off at all. I think if you estimated it, including the roll, it would be minimal extra points. I think you made great choices.

Well, got to get some stuff done today at work. I may run out at lunch to do some errands for vaca. BBL. I hope there are many, many posts!!

hi there, chickies. i hope you're out there lurking and will soon be posting again. i miss you!!

paula, that's great news about sarah eating more foods now. our 4 yr old granddaughter has a super limited variety of foods that she'll eat. i hope she outgrows that like sarah has.

i'm glad you like the cornbread. we brought it with us to colorado springs. it's a good quick meal.

now for today:

we went to the venue for equipment inspection; official practice; and registration. saw and visited with archery friends from around the nation.

we've seen kisik lee, (us olympic archery coach), olympic archers and other us archery team members. we're having a blast!

it's warmish here. they are having afternoon thunderstorms. cuz of the storms, they decided to run single line with 3 folks on each target. tomorrow i'll shoot in the am and curtis will in the pm.

we're in the trailer now resting. it's naptime. i hope you're all out there making healthy choices. i'll be back later.

Hi All:

I'm back from NM and ready to chat.

Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to eat core when surrounded by tamales, enchiladas, quesidellas, etc???? Well, it could have been worse, I guess!!

Anyway, back to the more healthy choices. Thank goodness it was a short trip.

I'll go read the other posts....

Sandra, I read about the fires in Montana...ouch. I know you're not there right now..I hope all is well.

rhonda, i'm glad you're home safe and sound and are away from those non-core devils. i'm still up to my chin in them. we have unofficially decided to just do what we can till after the competition is ended. well, after the awards banquet. we can't pay $20 per ticket and not eat. i think that would be a sin. maybe it's the 11th commandment?

i'm checking the archery website in a bit to see if many more registered today after we left. i think there are almost 400 competitors so far.

it's raining here. the weather guesser's calling it a mountain monsoon. we have rain gear with us. hope we don't have to use it tomorrow, but it is nice to have the cooler weather associated.

we just had core spaghetti here in the rv. i won't tell you what we had for lunch. we'll be loading up with carbs nightly this week. got to have that energy.

so? anyone else out there?

coco, how was your day?

frouf?

Hi Everyone
Havent been home too long from town. And WW meeting.
Went to the store before hand. So needed to put my stuff away. And get something to eat.
Well I lost 3 1/2 lbs this week. So guess yesterdays dinner didnt hurt. But will be extra careful this week. And try and drink extra water. Just to make sure it dont catch up with me. But with all this hot weather. I have been drinking about 96 oz of water. Once in awhile. If we have been to town or visiting someone. I may only get in 64 oz. So will try and add a extra glass a day. But you know. Drink that much water I am not as hungry. So that is good.
ONTARGET That is a good picture of hubby. That is wonderful he got his 10%.
I know you are very proud of him. Thanks for the pm about the points. I havent had a chance to get there yet. But will here in just a little bit. Sorry about the rain. But if it cools it down. Let it rain. Hope you have a good day tomorrow with your shooting. Will be thinking of you.
To everyone else I am thinking of you.
Hope everyone has had a great day.
DRINK YOUR WATER!!

ONTARGET Thanks for the websites. But neither one of these has the restaurants I am looking for. I had got into dotties yesterday. I am looking for Chedders. And Texas Roadhouse.
Am wondering if I could go by Outback Steakhouse for Texas Roadhouse.
But not sure what to use for Chedders.
Again thanks. But there are several other places I want to check out. I want to see what IHOP has. I am sure they dont have anything legel.

(i'll drink enough to stay hydrated but the port-a-potties are a long ways off.)

me either, rhonda. i don't dare even be in the same room with any scales.

just got some exciting news. one of my former students lives here in colorado springs. he's a doctor and has wed pm free. he's coming to watch me shoot then we're going out to dinner. i'm so excited. i taught him in the 6th grade. also, he was the high school drama club president my first year at high school. i was drama sponsor so we got very close. this will be the first time we've seen each other since the 80's.

can you tell i'm excited? curtis is excited to meet him, too. come on and get here, wednesday!!!

Well, that will be great Sandra...enjoy.

I've had a low calorie day and not suffered too much from it...Core also, except for 1/2 C of lf ice cream.

I'll be tonight.

So, once again, where is everyone?

HI EVERYONE!!
TEJAS No I havent heard from Vickie. I am worried about her. Glad you are back. How did your swim go. Hope it was great and relaxing.
ONTARGET How neat you will get to meet a former student. That is so exciting. Can understand about not wanting to drink. If the port a pottis are far away. Hope you had a good day today. Think of you. And cheering you on.
Well cant stay on here long. Got to go check on my pressure cooker. Waiting on the pressure to come down. So I can take the lid off. And get my beans out. Got 7 quarts in. And 7 more ready to go in. And I may even have enough beans to do a canner tomorrow. But have to get them cleaned. I am tired now.
Thinking of everyone.
Night

Good morning everyone. Hope all is well. I glad to say my scale is holding its own for now. I have not lost or gained -- which I'm OK with. I'm still 5 pds from my goal weight (which is where I've been for over 2 years!). I did stop going to meetings which I'm feeling much better about myself for doing that. Going to wi once a week and not losing was depressing me and I found I was getting into eating binges because of it. I'm now going to continue tracking everything on line ( I have the online tools free until October) and then reevaluate. Eating wise I feel much more in control without that Wednesday wi hanging over me -- does that make sense to anyone else? Its weird, and I finally was able to figure out what was going on - gaining when I was wi. I've now lost what I gained and my ticker is actually correct

Oh well, enough about that. 3 days and counting until vacation. I have boxes packed around my house with linens and food. I made core chocolate cake last night that I'll cut up and freeze to bring with us. I will also bring some of my frozen mexican core'n bread (sandra's receipe). I figure I'll be better off if I have some core things to grab and go. I will do alot of walking while we are there. The beach is a 7 mile beach with a pier at Old Orchard. I've never made the walk to the pier. I'm going to get there this year with my SIL - I think its about a 3 mile walk from where we are.

Coco - contrats on the loss! WOW, two great losses two weeks in a row. You are an inspriation! Keep up the fabulous work. Pressure cooker question for you - I don't have one and have been kicking around the idea of getting one. Do you use it often? Are receipes easy to convert to it or do you need special recipes. I love my crockpot - and anything that makes my cooking easier. I do alot of cooking on the weekend for the week days.

Sandra - great news about your student. It will be a nice reunioin for you all.

Vickie and Kathy - where are you both??? I hope all is well. Neither of you have stopped by for a while. PLEASE check in! WE miss you both.

Well, I need to get to work. BBL.
