Happy Monday everyone! We had big thunderstorms roll through around 6am this morning. Thankfully the power did not go out and I was able to get ready for work without problems!
I posted the rice lasana recipe, hope everyone enjoys it.
Sandra, this is Sarah's second year at preschool, next year its Kindegarten. I will post pics of my sunflowers and the beach (well, those will be later in August after we are back!).
Well, need to get some work done today. BBL

good morning, chickies. we did our training here at the house this am as the valley is filled with smoke from forest fires. several homes were evacuated east of town yesterday. i hope all stay safe and their homes are spared.
i'm going to do some grocery shopping, get my hair cut, and do today. then i'm going to start loading the travel trailer. a young gf from tx just e'd me this am. she is going to be there and we are going to shoot the team event together. we will get our 3rd team member when we get there. neither of us has ever competed in a team event before. this should be fun.
paula, thank you for starting our new pages. i hope we get to use a lot of them this week.
i hope everyone is having a great on core day. i'm off here to brown some burger.

Well trying to catch up after a crazy busy weekend - Friday night was little ds' family birthday dinner out - followed by the Simpson Movie. Sat afternoon we had the 'family' party - lots of people, food and fun - I was so tired afterwards - had a headache and had to lie down.
Yesterday I was feeling so lethargic - and tired and draggy - finally hauled out the thermometer and realized I was not well (100.2) - just finished my antibiotics and guess what? My throat hurts again and low grade fever. I am at work now but going downhill quickly (very hot, red and headachey) so looks like a night in bed for me. Hate to go back to the dr and certainly don't want more meds but I guess I may need them if this isn't cleared up!
Otherwise everything at home is hunky dory - dh and I getting along great and he is really being more attentive and caring which is so nice!!! Kids are still messy and demanding - guess I can only hope for so much!
Long weekend coming up in Ontario (Monday is Civic Day) so I have already booked Friday off to make it a very long 4 day weekend. Sil's pool has been fixed and we have an open invitiation to visit - I do want to go for a swim and a relaxing session by the pool but I sure hate to be seen in my bathing suit.
Which leads to my eating - a bit out of control and I now know it is the meds that is causing some of this. As mentioned I am starting to wean myself off of the anti-depressants as I don't seem to be getting any relief from the side-effects - still having trouble sleeping (was up from 3:30 - 5:30 am last night).
Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying the rest of the summer!

Quick rice lasana update -- very good lunch!!! It had the great flavor of lasana. I was concerned it would be more of a rice casserole. I may try it with fat free ricotta mixed in next time.
Frouf, sorry you are not feeling well. Call the Dr, maybe you don't need to go in, perhaps he can just call in another perscription. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Good early morning all:
I woke up at 5 AM and was hungry so I've had breakfast already. I think it's going to be a looong day!
Coco, congratulations on the 4 pound weight loss. You've set a goal for us for sure. It's been years since I lost that much weight in a week. Good for you :woo hoo:
I hope the doggie feels better soon, also.
Does anyone know why high fiber bread is not Core? It doesn't make sense to me since oatmeal is.

so now i know.
what do i know?
i was wondering why--if ww 1 pt chocolate cake tastes so much like a hostess cupcake, why can't i just buy a box of them instead of the ww cakes.
here's why:
1 box of ww chocolate cakes = 6 pts.
1 box of hostess cupcakes = 32 pts.
no matter which i buy, i will eat the whole box in one day.
"and that's all i know about that."..........
---------------------------------------------------------
rhonda, i'm here. i've just been busy hiding cupcakes wrappers from curtis. he's doing great and i didn't want to sabotage him with my hostess stuff. he's safe now.
i have been running errands all over town. i was going to before i came home; found i had forgotten my towel (had my swimsuit on under my clothes) so i bought a beautiful new blue towel at wallmart. i did 30 min .
other than that i've been getting all ready to finish packing the trailer. i also made a core chicken salad. we had that for dinner but still have a lot to eat on while traveling. life is good.
so? how did your day go? did you have dinner by 2 pm? i have days like that, too. i remember one time years and years ago when i was on an old ww program, i had eaten everything allowed by 10 am. needless to say i had to rejoin a few weeks later. that one day set off an eating frenzy for me. (that's what it felt like anyway)

Hi everyone - wow, quiet day. I'm beat. Spent 3 hours this morning blue berry picking with Sarah. I gave her the choice of berry picking or the beach. She wanted to go berry picking. Ended up being a good choice - it was very overcast and foggy this morning. We picked 10+ pds of berries. I found 2 bags in my freezer from last year - so I made a blue berry cobbler (which I will not eat!). I now have 5 new quart bags filled in my freezer down stairs and 1 bag left upstairs from last year. Plus I have a medium mixing bowl in the fridge with fresh berries. YUMMO!
Then we took a 1/2 hour walk/bike ride (I walked/ran while Sarah rode her bike - wanting to go as fast as possible!). The dog was tired after that as well. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out in the back yard. Nice day overall. It did get hot again this afternoon. Heck, its July....
Sandra, when do you head out? Thanks for the point count on the cupcakes. I do buy hostess stuff for Jim and Sarah. If I want to sneak one, all I need to do is check the label - way too many calories for me (most of the time )
Coco, hope your dog is doing better. Our lab is 9 1/2 - he is doing good so far, just a touch of arthritis in his hips. Our dogs are our babies - Heck, Josh was our first child!
Well, I'm off to take a shower then relax - 2 pts to be used on a glass of wine. Sarah is now in bed ( 1/2 hour early) and Jim is pricing a job for a new customer (he's a carpenter). So, I'm going to enjoy some quiet time while I can.
Good night..

The blueberry picking sounds just wonderful. I pick raspberries with my former in-laws...well, I did until MIL deteriorated with her Alzheimer's.
Do you have to share the berries with bears? They really love them!
didn't happen. A child vomited in the pool and they had to close it I've never heard of that happening before!
Sandra, I'm headed out also on Thursday. I'll be gone through Monday. I'll be in NM but, unfortunately I can't get over to Colorado. I won't be on email for those days.
Talk to you tomorrow..
