Default The dreaded "20 Yr. Reunion"

I don't know why I care what my classmates think of me, but would you believe 20 years later I still feel that peer pressure? When I say it, I think how ridiculous! Although, I know that I'm not happy with my weight, which in turn makes me not feel good about myself.....and thus the vicious cycle continues. Ugh.

So today...I started enlisted in The Core. Wish me luck...

Thanks
Wendy

Cheer up, Wendy, you could be facing your 35 YEAR reunion and still fill the peer pressure!

or your 45! i'm not quite there yet, but i'm close. we didn't have a 40th back in 05 so i'm thinking our next will be 45 or 50. 50?

on a good note--i was heavy in school. (is that a good note?)

good success to you. when is your class reunion? how much are you planning to lose beforehand?

Good luck. Sometimes it helps to have an incentive like that in front of you.

Just keep in mind that the men will look worse than any of the women, regardless of the women's weight. At least that was how my reunions have been - most of the guys I went to high school with were bald with big beer bellies! I remember thinking that all the girls looked great compared to the guys, even those who had put on a few lbs. since high school. :-)

Isn't it the truth. I went to my 40th reunion in '03 and the women, even with the extra weight, looked great! The men needed some fine tuning.

We have a "classes of the 60's" reunion coming up in October, and it is a great motivator.

You'll lose it!

My Hubby & I went to the same high school and graduated the same year...1987. I think my husband looks as good today as he did then. He's very aware of his health and the food he eats.....so how the heck did I get so flippin' fat? Ugh!

The dreaded reunion is Sept. 22....how much do I want to lose in 8 weeks? Uh....55 lbs In all honesty....I would settle for 10-15 lbs. But if I work super hard....maybe I could shed a couple extra.

Thanks for the support.

wendy, you can do this. just take baby steps. try not to look at the big picture. set yourself some mini goals. (but you already know all this. i'm a retired teacher and can't help telling folks what to do. just ignore me.)

Well, unlike Sandra, I'm not retired. And I'm a teacher too. Listen to what she says.
