New pages for a new week.

blessedwithsarah 05-14-2007 09:01 AM

Happy Monday everyone. I need a new start this week. The scale is up and all I can say is I'm glad I don't have WW this week (our leader can't make the at work session). I don't know why, but when I have a few weeks between wi, I do so bad!!!!! UGH. Its like I have a free pass to do what I want.

Well, today is a new start for me. I have my core breakfast (pumpkin bread) and then for lunch I made tomato soup yesterday. I did not drink much water over the past few days, I know that is not helping things either. So, back OP in a big way today.

How is everyone doing???

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and a happy day yesterday (for all the mom's out there!).

Tejas 05-14-2007 11:41 AM

Morning All:

Well, after ages of not losing a thing, I lost one pound. I believe it is because I went back to counting points, writing it all down, and drinking more water. So it goes...

I am not a biological mom (regrettably) but I have lots of friends' children who received a lot of affection from me over the years. Some of them called me yesterday, and what a treat that was. One of my NEW step daughters even thought to include me in the Happy Mother's Day greetings...that was especially sweet.

I've got a long day ahead (what else is new!?). I hope eveyone does well. I'm going out to a celebration tonight, and that is going to present some challenges. I'll be strong :strong:

Rhonda

Froufy 05-14-2007 01:09 PM

Hi all,

Thanks for the new pages Paula!

How sweet to get all those call Rhonda - sending you good vibes for tonight - we know you can be strong - congrats on losing that pound - way to go!

Angela - I am so impressed with your intensive gardening - I am itching to plant here but it's still a bit nippy in the evenings - usually by beginning of June it's pretty safe. I am astounded that my garden/landscaping I did in the front of the house last summer is coming back nicely - I think I lost one silver mound - but otherwise everything is turning green and budding! This year will add the plants (perennials and some annuals) for more color!

Well to say I overindulged on Mother's day is an understatement - first there was breakfast in bed served by little ds and dd - eggs/toast/ fruit, tea. Then off to the mother's day tea - where I inhaled several cakes, fruit and mousse - and coffee. Then to Red Lobster for dinner w/kids - luckily there was an hour wait - as I actually was not even hungry when we got there.

Dh was in a nasty mood - due to back pain he claims - very attacking of my kids (on mother's day no less) so I had a 'chat' with him about not spoiling my day - so for the rest of the meal he did not speak a word - might as well have left him at home!

Home today - I had a bad night - was up at 2:30 am of course tossing, turning and worrying about anything and everything - went to the little couch in our bedroom and around 4 am started to doze off when those @#$##$ birds started their incessant chirping - loud and frequent. So around 4:30 am I went downstairs to the family room - and I think I eventually fell asleep there - ending up with a crick in my neck of course.

Woke up at 7 feeling like crap with a headache and head full of cotton balls so decided to stay home and sleep some more. Still in my jammies - trying to drink more water to get rid of everything I ate yesterday (ya right!). Kids have dentist appt this pm so hopefully dh will be taking them - maybe I shall have a nap later?

Good afternoon ladies!
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was busy.I went to a Mother's day potluck at my aunt's house up north. The othing thing core there was the salad ,so needless to say! I never eat all that good food so I overindulged! No guilt tho I'm on all non core today except for my 100 calorie pack after dinner which I already worked for :)
I made this delish soup which was 99% core It called for 1/2 breadcrumbs for the meatballs but I used 1/2 instant oatmeal. It is soo good.I will freeze some away! here is the recipe.Let me know if someone has trouble seeing it I will PM it to you!
I finally went to see that new leader on Saturday mornings and she was wonderful, funny and warm and she follows Core.So I finally found my new meeting! I lost 1.6 was very surprised so now I know my scale is virtually useless!
Hope everyone is doing well!

Froufy 05-14-2007 01:12 PM

Thanks for the recipe - it is too tiny for me to read but might I suggest adding it to our core recipe board for everyone to enjoy? Thanks Tiki and congrats again on your loss!

Hello Chickies !
I had a great day yesterday , My Dh Spoiled me rotten and we did clothes shopping, a new hair cut and dinner . I also recieved a beautiful windchime ! I collect them and this one lights up definatly staying in my home ! lol

Today I am soooo proud of myself , went grocery shopping all core food for me :) Then I joined a gym and did a whole upper body workout with weights. I worked bi ceps , tri ceps , chest, back , shoulders, obliques, abs. Then I walked and ran the track for 1.5 miles. I then wanted to walk the readmill so I did at a 5 incline for 15 minutes :) I really missed the gym and my workouts so this was so GREAT !
I am also taking pilates and Zumba next week . The babe 4 yrs old loved the daycare . So all is good .
I hope everyone has an awsome day !

ontarget 05-14-2007 03:58 PM

hey there, chickie-poos. it's a glorious day in western montana. i have finished planting and transplanting. now i'm watering and waiting to go to :swim:. i think i have enough energy left to splash around.

curtis and i had a great core lunch. he got excited when he got to check off 4 veggies on his journal. it's so much fun--and refreshing-to see his enthusiasm. he's a new convert for sure.

paula, is that pumpkin bread recipe listed here? i'd like to make it.

rhonda, you steel magnolia you. you'll do fine tonight. congratulations on losing that pound. don't you feel greeat just seeing those scales starting to move? i know i do when mine do. i'm glad you had a good mother's day. i used to feel like i was mother to a lot of students. it's a good feeling, isn't it?

frouf, i'm sorry dh was such a butt yesterday. i hope your headache's better now. it's good that you can take off work when you need to.

oops! i just got bumped offline. i'm redialing now. my son told how to go about getting dsl. that's the plan now. i'll be calling qwest today or tomorrow.

tiki, congrats on being down 1.6 lbs. that's a good loss. sounds like you've dusted yourself off and are back op. way to go!

wow, gina! you're awesome!!

Tejas 05-14-2007 10:47 PM

Froufy, I hope you took a nap! I guess we're going to have to come and sit on DH instead of that woman who hit you in the car!

Tiki and Gina, congrats on your efforts.

Sandra, I'm so happy for your gardening...I think it will be another few days before I get out there again. There is much to do!

Paula, good luck this week...and thanks for starting the pages for our new week.

I wasn't awful at dinner tonight, but I certainly don't have many points to spare for the rest of the week. But, all in all, I didn't have dessert, and I didn't eat too much bread!

night all,
Rhonda

TikiOnADiet 05-15-2007 06:49 AM

Morning chickies!

Rhonda congrats on the pound gone! I know with flex that was a huge problem for me.I always thought I didnt have to write it down and I can keep score in my head..nope! Good for you for getting back to the basics!
Frouf sorry your DH was a jerk! Next time leave at home! :) As for overdulging-I went there too! OMG but I never get my families cooking so it was such a treat,I had a little bit of everything and the scale reflected it lol I swear whenevr I do well a holiday comes around!
Paula glad your getting a fresh start. After my weekend I really needed it too!
Gina woohooo look at you go at the gym with ur bad self lol Good for you for joining and i'm glad the baby like hanging out there. At our local Y its gorgeous and the indoor playroom looks something out of a storybook its probbaly why its so expensive.I would soo love to join tho,Jim says why would you pay when you can do it at home? I'm like "We only have an elliptical machine" dont get me I'm totally grateful for it.but it gets boring sometimes ya know? If I had a treadmill i'd be on that baby everyday! I love walking.
which reminds for mother's day I asked for the WW pedometer,OMG I love it it was so easy to program-in english! its really nice and very accurate!
I wrote out that recipe for the Core Meatball Soup and it said the thread is old i had to chek off something? Lost it! grr I will try again today.I have a playdate today with my girlfriend from up north.she has 4yr old twins so it will be nice for them together with my dd.Shes bringing me my bridemaids dress for her wedding.Im exited to try it on,I was 24lbs heavier when I was measured to it so this will be a nice indication clothes why how I'm doing!
hope everyone has a great OP
BTW I was totally perfect besides my coffee yesterday ALL Core, havent had a day like that before!

Ginas going 180 05-15-2007 07:07 AM

Good Morning chicks:)
I am sore as heck today ......my poor abs and legs ! lol
I will do a light workout today . Just cardio 45 minutes:)
We have a game tonight but it looks like rain . Well see how the weather goes.
I cleaned out my closet and organized my clothes last night . I could not sleep ....still adjusting to the med increase I guess.
I am feeling bloated today and avoided the scale. I will drink extra water today and stay 100% On plan !!!
I Wish everyone a GREAT day !

Tejas 05-15-2007 08:21 AM

Gina, I cleaned closets on Sunday, and what a chore to do! Here in Toronto we can have all four seasons in one day, so it's a big step to put the winter clothes away. Just have to decide that if it gets cold again, you'll be cold, that's all!

I've decided that my goal this week will be to lose another pound. I'm thinking about what I can cut out and still have a reasonable number of calories a day. I have no desire to be hungry ;)

Have a good day everyone!

Rhonda

blessedwithsarah 05-15-2007 08:55 AM

Good morning everyone. I had a good OP day yesterday. I was at an off site meeting which I had some fruit and small pieces of cheese - maybe an ounce. We then had a dinner at which I had grilled lamb, baked pot and broccoli. My scale is moving downward!!! That for me is so motivating.

Congrats to Tiki and Rhonda on your losses and to Gina for all the exercise. Great job!

Frouf, how are you feeling? I hope things improve.

Sandra, I'll check to see if the pumpkin bread receipe is here, if no, I'll post it.

Well, need to get some laundry done and then get Sarah ready for gymnastics at 11:15. Not much else planned for today. Its supposed to be 80 today, right now its 55 and cloudy. Lets hope for sunshine soon!

BBL

Froufy 05-15-2007 11:34 AM

Hi chickies,

Back at work today - a bit rainy today and much cooler but the sun is sure trying to peek out!

At least I can say I slept thru most of the night - altho I am still a bit tired! Trying to hang on - not feeling great tho so I am seriously considering upping the dosage of my medication - will wait a few more days first - but then I might try it.

As for overindulging - let's just say the scale is not my friend today - but back at work is helpful as I am usually more in control and I took some halibut out of the freezer for dinner so there is a PLAN!

Rhonda - can you come do my closets too? Our walk-in is a disaster - seems to be a catch all for everything (in addition to clothing) when we can't find a spot for it! Good luck on your next lb - and definitely no need to go hungry!

Gina - good idea not to overdo those muscles and give them a rest - so if it rains is game cancelled? When my kids played soccer it was on rain or shine (UGH!)

Paula - have fun with your friend on the play date - I bet that dress will be swimming on you - how motivating that will be!

We have a long weekend coming up here in Canada (monday off - Victoria Day) and I am really looking forward to it - I am even considering taking Friday off to make it 4 days in a row! Not sure if I can garden as the temps are still pretty low at night - but the Tulip Festival is on and it's fun to go see them and walk around and enjoy the people and the sights.

Awaiting next dance competition schedule for Brockville - looks like dd won't be dancing jun 1st (and she is thrilled cuz she can now go on school field trip to Montreal) - so the rest of the weekend will be spent away from home again! Then dress rehearsal and recital and it's all over for a while - YIPPEE!

I will have to go and read the threads.

Just thought I would check in.

Tejas 05-15-2007 07:38 PM

Quiet during the day.

We've had quite a thunderstorm, with tornado watches all over the place. It seems to be getting quieter (or I wouldn't be on the computer!)

I had a good OP day today. I also bought a pedometer to try to get a better idea of how much I'm walking.

Good idea about taking Friday off Frouf..think I'll do the same!

Rhonda

Tejas 05-15-2007 07:39 PM

Hi Coco...we must have been on at the same time...congrats on the loss...ever little bit helps.

Vickie :grouphug:

coco99 05-15-2007 07:47 PM

Thanks TEJAS
I know it wasnt much. But those little losses I guess will add to a big loss. So at this point I am happy with it.
So hopefully next week will be a pound. I do know that I need to drink more water. So that is something that I am going to try and work on this week.
coco

Ginas going 180 05-15-2007 08:15 PM

Great job on losing !!!!
I am so stuck at this weight . It is driving me crazy . I am going to have to count points and watch my intake . I seem to be really hungry when I work out alot .

p.a. 05-15-2007 10:04 PM

Hey everyone,
Coco,,Im so glad you got a new computer!! now you can spend more time with us.
Gina, my dd works out at a gym and they told her there to up her calories on days she worksout. She finds she is very hungry after she works out.
Rhonda we were under a storm watch yesterday...after the fact...shesh.
The sky turned grey/green and we had hail like crazy!! Iwas looking for a tornado! Right now we have so many fires around us..its crazy!

Still walking and watching my calories...its slowing down now. Im trying not to be frustrated. I dont like watching the scale go up and down. That drives me crazy!! I know I know dont watch the scale..but Im addicted what can I say.
I tried something good yesterday...wasa crackers, with cottage cheese and green onions chopped on top! Sounds weird but very fresh tasting
I used to be able to buy a veggie burger made by Money's./they were so good!! I cant find them anymore...I need to start looking for a tried and true recipe..can anyone help me??
Off for the night..have a good one

ontarget 05-15-2007 11:30 PM

hi there. curtis and i are still going strong. i have to confess he's doing better than i am. i'm eating too large portions. i am amazed at how well he's doing. right now he's eating a slice of that core crockpot carrot cake i made yesterday. i just finished mine. i had to count it as 2 pts cuz i'd already had my oo today. one of the things curtis is helping me do is make sure i'm getting in my healthy oils. i may have to have a sf hot chocolate in a few minutes to get in all my milk. vickie, i'm trying. i've never done well with the dairy. all i can say is, "i'm trying."

rhonda, my plan is to lose 1 pound a week, too. i think that's fast enough for me.

gina, my arms are a bit sore from :swim: last night.

tiki, congrats on having a perfect day. that's awesome.

paula, kudos to you, too, my friend. i am so happy for you. thanks for looking for the recipe for me. did you see the crockpot cake recipe i posted today? that's what we snacked on tonight.

frouf, halibut sounds like a good plan. i hope weather permits so you can get out in the yard this weekend. i'm having a blast outside. (water is running right now)

coco, congrats on the new puter and dsl. i guess i'm the only one still here on dial up. oh, well. maybe soon. :woohoo: on losing half a pound.

gina, i'm afraid i'm going to have to start journaling and keeping up with pts, too. i've been eating wayyyyy too much. i am not stepping on the iron monster till at ww wi fri. guess i'll find out thenhow i'md doing.

patti, have you taken another waist measurement? i'll bet you're still losing inches. hang in there, buddie. i'm hanging, too.

we did a photo opt this am at the archery center. i'll post a photo tomorrow when i'm back upstairs on the big puter. i don't have the photo downstairs on this old laptop i'm on now. i have to tell you i was pleasantly surprised. i had been feeling like i'd regained everything i'd lost, but the photo shows a different story. i am heavier than i was around thanksgiving, but i definitely haven't gotten as large as i was this time last year. life is good.

Ginas going 180 05-16-2007 08:34 AM

Good Morning ladies:)
Well I am sore and going to just walk today .
I slept well last night . I have horrible allergies and think I might be getting the start of a sinus infection .
Last night our game was rained out . We went and the other team did not show . They said it was a forfit and I said hey its raining and the site for the rain cancellations is down so give them a raindate instead of the forfiet( The other teams coach showed up and did not know what to tell his team ) . Let the girls play another day ..... so they did :) So all was good . I decided to have the girls work on thier sliding ! ha The parents liked the look of the girls sliding through the mud then when It was time to go home we had a bunch of muddy , wet kids ! lol
Diet wise I am struggling big time. So hungry and picking alot . Totally off plan yesterday ........... Starting over and moving on . I am going to up my protien and cut out some trigger foods. I will have to see what I can handle . I never expect to be perfect but I would like to get through my stress and bordom and not over eat . Well heres to a better day !
I will update later .
Have a great day and do something nice for you today :)

thingirlinside 05-16-2007 08:48 AM

Good morning ladies, hope everone is doing well. I have been busy, dh is away till thursday night, he is at training for a new job he will be starting soon, so I have been doing all the yard work, I got flowers for Mothers Day that needed to be planted. I have been doing very well op I am down another 2lbs, I guess it is all the yard work I have been doing. I can't believe how far behind I am with the board.

Froufy my husband was a Big Jerk on Mothers day also, he was in a bad mood, I was kinda relieved when he went to visit his mom for a few hours.

Coco congrats on the weight loss!!

Sandra glad Curtis is op with you, that is great support. I am going to check out that carrot cake recipe, I am always looking for a snack at night.

Rhonda I bought a WW pedometer and everytime I move when not walking it calculates a step, seems to be very sensitive, even when I stand still and am doing dishes it calculates steps. Congrats on the weight loss

Paula glad you are back OP

Gina great going on the exercise

Tiki I bet the bridesmaid dress was hanging on you!

Patti hang in there, you are doing awesome, the scales will start moving again, I also weigh myself everyday

blessedwithsarah 05-16-2007 09:38 AM

Morning all! ITs a beautiful day today - we're supposed to have thunder storms later today, but for now its nice. Yesterday was a very nice day - it did finally get warm, Sarah had a playdate with a girl who lives down the street. So, I had 2 hours of me time. I did clean a bit and then sat in the sun and read. Did a dumb thing last night - I was making turkey tenderloins. I browned them in a pan then added tiny potatoes and then put the whole thing in the oven to finish cooking. Got the rest of dinner done, took the fry pan out of the oven, plated everything. Then quickly decided to drop the pan in the sink before we ate. Grabbed the very, very hot handle! Now the inside of my left hand is burned. Not sever but it hurt bad last night. Today is just tight and uncomfrotable. The kicker is this -- the last time I made this same dish, I did the exact same thing!!! You would think I'd learn. Oh well, maybe next time???

Sandra, I posted the pumpkin snack cake recipe under desserts. Wasn't sure where to put it since its a good snack as well as breakfast. The carrot cake recipe sounds good. I'll try that this weekend. Do you think using plain splenda vs. the brown sugar blend would make a difference? Let me know what you think.

Coco, welcome back! Congrats on the loss.
Rhonda, how do you like the pedometer? I keep thinking about getting one, not sure if its worth it.
Gina, try not to get discouraged, just take it one day at a time. Write down everything. If find when I do that I realize how much off plan I was "nibbling" at without really knowing.

WEll, got to run to a meeting. BBL.

Froufy 05-16-2007 11:21 AM

Well we're also having the gloomy rainy weather - no thunderstorms, but constant rain and it's freezing here - down to 3 degrees (mid thirties) which is very unseasonable - supposed to warm up a bit this weekend!

Ya Rhonda - I think I shall book Friday off - I had booked the following Friday off as we were invited to a bat mitzvah in Montreal - but frankly too complicated to go and make arrangements for everyone so we decided not to attend (yes my gf was a bit upset) - so maybe I'll switch Fridays? Let me know how the pedometer thing goes - I found mine to be highly inaccurate no matter what I did!

Paula - OUCH - that must have hurt - I have a very low pain tolerance esp to burns so I would have been out for the rest of the night with my hand in a bowl of ice water - no kidding! Hope your hand is not too painful today (altho the dinner did sound yummy!).

Niki - have fun with the planting - what kinds of plants did you get?

Coco - congrats on the loss - and the new puter - hope it solves all your technical problems!

Gina - I can relate - also need to stay focussed and I've finding it very hard to do - need a good kick in the butt I think :D

Sandra - did you get the birdhouses up? How is the garden coming along? Please post pics if you can!

I am trying not to let the gloomy day get to me - but it's hard. Dh out getting car repair estimates this morning and hopefully the cleaning lady will show up tonight!

And did I mention my cell phone died? like fried itself? Was having problems with the battery for a few weeks - would charge it up and it would not hold the charge for very long - dh had another battery from his old cell phone - so I tried it - and that was working - until yesterday. At work and I hear this funny beeping sound coming from desk drawer? Very strange - not sure what it was?

So I finally investigate and it's my cell phone giving a low battery warning - funny thing was I had charged it overnight - had not used it all - and this was at 11 am?? When I picked it up it was HOT - super hot to the touch so I turned it off - and that was that.

Off cell phone shopping last night - yes had to 'extend' our plan to get the phone crediit - but of course I got a cute PINK sanyo cell phone - a little fancier than I want or need (seems my old basic cell phone does not exist anymore) - I think it has a camera and bluetooth technology. Bad news is when the salesclerk was demoing it - she took out the charger and FORGOT to put it back in the box - so when we got home - no charger - store closed. So poor dh will be running around today trying to get that charger back - what a pain in the @#$##.

Froufie

thingirlinside 05-16-2007 11:52 AM

Froufy I planted Azeleas, Gerber daisy's, Marigolds(my sons favorite), I seperated my hostas and planted them all around the garden and I planted a few other plants that I have totally forgot what they are called, I even trimmed back my butterfly bush. Does anyone know about lilac bush's, I planted mine about 8 years ago and it bloomed every year, this spring I cut off the dead bloom and this is the first year It did not bloom, are you not suppose to trim the bush.

TikiOnADiet 05-16-2007 12:46 PM

Hi everyone!

Yesterday was hectic had the twins over a playdate,we actually ventured
out to the store.Reminds me that I'm happy with 2 children lol.I tired on my dress and was very shocked! its a two peice the bottom was very long and pretty lose the top! my word i had to have her zipper it up and couldnt bend over for fear it would rip.The dress said size 18 which i think its MUCH smaller than that.Anyways need to work on my upper body and lose a good 12-14 before the wedding august 4th.GOING TO TRY LIKE ****!
Paula nice to have some Me time isnt it? I dont get to read usually until the kids are in bed.I didnt think it would ever warm out! Sorry about your hand! I imagine it hurts!
Coco congrats on the loss! Any loss is great and I have total faith you will hit a pound next week :) keep it up
Sandra- Its nice to have a buddy isnt it? Looks like he is keeping you on your toes as well lol Now remember not to compare we know how men lose so much very easily-not fair!
Rhonda-good job on sticking to your guns about dessert.I find that very hard!
Frouf good job on planning it helps so much!! Sorry about your pain in the butt cell hpone shopping trip,i am in need of a new cell myself
Niki how are you doing?! gardening is great exercise! congrats on the 2lbs

Ok need to get going just wanted to update!

ontarget 05-16-2007 12:51 PM

gina, hang in there. you know what to do and you're right. none of us is perfect. (darn it!)

niki, i've been doing a lot of yardwork, too. it's fun, isn't it?

paula, thanks for the pumpkin bread recipe. i printed it and will try it soon. the original recipe for the carrot cake called for sugar twin brown sugar. that's 0 pts. i don't know if using granular splenda would work. the cake made with the splenda brown sugar is wonderful. i can taste the bs. that sort of makes it special to me. if you try it with granular splenda, let me know what you think.

i'm sorry you got burned. do you have any melaleuca oil? that usually takes all the pain away from burns, etc.... in just a few seconds. we keep it on hand.

frouf, i do have the birdhouses up. (sort of) they are propped on flower pots around the waterfall. those poles that came with them were jokes. curtis called jackson & perkins and told them about them. result--j&p was super nice. they didn't even charge us for the birdhouses. we have done a lot of business with them (bought oodles of rosebushes) and will prob continue. they're a good company and stand behind what they sell.

did i do a commercial? anyway, i'll post a photo soon. i have a little sign i want us to hang first.

a pink cellphone? sounds really cute and "froufie." i like your spunk. i'm sorry you had to send dh back to get the battery. sounds like the salesclerk was tired or something.

vickie, are you and jim in better spirits? i hope you come back here soon. i miss you.

tiki, been there done that on the tight dresses. just keep doing what you've been doing and you'll be in that dress in no time.

ontarget 05-16-2007 12:55 PM

can we say "****" here? if so, read the following. if not, then i guess this is deleted.

i am going to call curtis' plan the "hello no!" plan. now curtis doesn't cuss much at all. however, the past few days when he's pondered whether or not to have a non-core item, he's asked me how many points it would cost.

when i tell him, he looks shocked and says, "**** no!"

the point i'm trying to make here is--where did my "**** no!" mentality go? i find myself figuring pts for non core items and saying, "well, okay. why not?" i'm going to start saying, "hello no!!!!!" unless it's something that's truly worth the points.

Froufy 05-16-2007 04:05 PM

Great philosophy on Curtis' part - what dedication - I agree - we may have all lost some of our '**** no' and instead are thinking 'poor me' - need to change our attitudes no doubt!

Await pic of birdhouses, rosebushes and all garden extravaganzas!

Vickie - hope you are doing okay - and thinking positive thoughts! Please check in when you can!

Well my pink frouflike cell phone is currently being charged - dh got the charger this morning and all is good - now I need to read that instruction manual so I can figure out all the fancy doodads and features - I like the 'voice activated' dialing feature so have to get all my numbers programmed in again.

Tiki - good luck with the dress - love your determination to get the weight off - I'm sure the dress will be ever so loose and flowing by August!

Dd going to her dad's tonight and seems he is again not well enuf to drive which means I have to chauffeur yet again - sigh.... I know she wants to watch the finale of America's top model - which means I have to stay up late to pick her up - not good for a tired frouf. My throat is a bit sore today and this worries me - hope I am not catching something (and even more worrisome cuz dh called and said his throat has been bothering him today as well!)

Stopped raining but still pretty miserable out there - hope we are able to bbq our steaks for dinner!

Hi All:

"Hello NO" ...that's good. We'll all have to use that one.

Just catching up on a few topics:

Lilacs: they won't bloom the first season after a hard pruning. BUT, they should be pruned severely when they get too big. You'll likely get a good crop of blooms next year.

Grey/green skies: almost sure sign of tornadoes coming your way, but, then again, not always! We had green skies, a tornado watch but none that I know of.

Pedometers: well, mine says I walked almost 6 miles today and I think that's close. But, it does register steps when it just gets jiggled and I'm not moving. I'm just looking for something close, so I won't worry about it.

Frouf: here you go :kickbutt:

I've had a good day, staying OP, walking and drinking so much water that it's a problem at work ;)

BTW I got the WW pedometer for Mother's day (i asked for it hehe) and I notice its very accurate, however it does say lot of steps when I wear loose fitting pants like PJs but its great on something sturdy like jeans.I really do like it alot and i found that it was easy to program!

been saying "**** no!" today. just finished a dreamsicle smoothie, though. (got my milk in and used 0 pts)

here's a photo from our photo opt yesterday. we took it at the archery center. curtis is holding my 2 national records and i'm holding the 1st place plaque. we'll be sending a copy to Martin Archery and Trophy Taker Arrow Rests later this week. they're our sponsors.

frouf, here's the famous waterfall. the sign hanging above says, "Mom's Garden." my son and dil sent it to me last year and i'm just now having a place to put it. i just noticed the birdhouse on the right doesn't show up very well. i need to work on my picture taking skills.

did you see the "froufie" in the photo? it's in your honor. i have been looking for chickies but haven't found any. i want realistic not comical ones. (i have a raccoon under the lilacs.) (we have real squirrels all over the place.) (so far--no deer. thank goodness!!!)

Sandra, you are just cute as a button! Curtis is pretty sweet looking too. You make a wonderful couple. Keep up the good work on your dairy. I know it will make a difference and help you feel full. I love Curtis' idea of **** no. I haven't done great since I stopped religously tracking the 8 healthy guidelines and my WPA's and AP's. I believe you'll get to goal.

I'm hanging in there. 15 minutes on the treadmill today. It is literally all I could do. Same tomorrow.

I hope you are all well. I'm off to spend time with Honey Lamb.

Hey! There's Vickie! That picture of Sandra and Curtis brought her out!! Do hang in, Vickie!

I hope everyone has a good night. I really seem to want to munch on something tonight, so I made fruit salad. Maybe I'll have a glass of milk, also. So virtuous!

Night all,
Rhonda

hi there, vickie. i'm so glad to see you. i miss you. i think 15 minutes on the treadmill is good. i didn't do anything today but putter in the yard. i'm getting heck of a tan, though.

rhonda, we munched tonight on peach crisp. it was core cept for 3 pts of splenda brown sugar sub. it was pretty good. (maybe i'm desperate, eh?)

picture trail deleted our photo for some reason. i'm trying to get it back on now. i don't know what happened. if you see it, you know i got it back. if not, oh, well. life goes on.

ontarget 05-17-2007 01:18 AM

got it! i think picturetrail had deleted it to get me to check my account. it was expiring the 20th. i have updated and am good to go another year. life is good.

Morning chickies,

Sandra - you look adorable (curtis too of course) and I love the 'garden' pic and I am truly honored to have the lovely froufie in the garden - how cute! (I am also thinking of adding one to my garden someday!)

Vickie - glad to see you are around - I think 15 minutes is PHENOMENAL and a good start - even that little bit will do some good and before you know you will be able to add a few minutes here and there.

Well we ended up at the chinese buffet last night - courtesy of little ds (his favorite place) - to celebrate his aikido exam (going for an orange belt) - okay this was just the test - I said do we go out again when you get the belt - of course he says :D

So at 3:30 am dh and I are suffering from the 'Revenge of the Chinese Buffet" - yes both of us w/rumbling tummies, tossing and turning for a few hours. Needless to say I could barely get up this morning (and had to forego washing my hair) - and I was quite late to work.

Come in to find TWO BIG BOXES in my office - one labelled Cherry and the other Blueberry. Well it seems Denise (our resident office baker) felt bad that I had missed the pies on Monday so she baked some just for me! How sweet is that? Of course I teased the team a bit but decided to share one with them (cherry) and the blueberry (my favorite) will be coming home with me - yes I shall definitely have to try a piece - but will try to make it a small one?

I am looking forward to being off tomorrow and a four day long weekend - turns out little ds has a PD day tomorrow so he is home too - looks like it won't be a 'frouf' day but a 'mom and ds' day as he is making plans for us it seems :D Maybe we can visit the tulip festival together and have lunch out?

Still very cold and a bit gray out there - probably more rain coming our way.

Frouf
