Hi All:

"Hello NO" ...that's good. We'll all have to use that one.

Just catching up on a few topics:

Lilacs: they won't bloom the first season after a hard pruning. BUT, they should be pruned severely when they get too big. You'll likely get a good crop of blooms next year.

Grey/green skies: almost sure sign of tornadoes coming your way, but, then again, not always! We had green skies, a tornado watch but none that I know of.

Pedometers: well, mine says I walked almost 6 miles today and I think that's close. But, it does register steps when it just gets jiggled and I'm not moving. I'm just looking for something close, so I won't worry about it.

Frouf: here you go :kickbutt:

I've had a good day, staying OP, walking and drinking so much water that it's a problem at work ;)

BTW I got the WW pedometer for Mother's day (i asked for it hehe) and I notice its very accurate, however it does say lot of steps when I wear loose fitting pants like PJs but its great on something sturdy like jeans.I really do like it alot and i found that it was easy to program!

been saying "**** no!" today. just finished a dreamsicle smoothie, though. (got my milk in and used 0 pts)

here's a photo from our photo opt yesterday. we took it at the archery center. curtis is holding my 2 national records and i'm holding the 1st place plaque. we'll be sending a copy to Martin Archery and Trophy Taker Arrow Rests later this week. they're our sponsors.

frouf, here's the famous waterfall. the sign hanging above says, "Mom's Garden." my son and dil sent it to me last year and i'm just now having a place to put it. i just noticed the birdhouse on the right doesn't show up very well. i need to work on my picture taking skills.

did you see the "froufie" in the photo? it's in your honor. i have been looking for chickies but haven't found any. i want realistic not comical ones. (i have a raccoon under the lilacs.) (we have real squirrels all over the place.) (so far--no deer. thank goodness!!!)

Sandra, you are just cute as a button! Curtis is pretty sweet looking too. You make a wonderful couple. Keep up the good work on your dairy. I know it will make a difference and help you feel full. I love Curtis' idea of **** no. I haven't done great since I stopped religously tracking the 8 healthy guidelines and my WPA's and AP's. I believe you'll get to goal.

I'm hanging in there. 15 minutes on the treadmill today. It is literally all I could do. Same tomorrow.

I hope you are all well. I'm off to spend time with Honey Lamb.

Tejas 05-16-2007 10:11 PM

Hey! There's Vickie! That picture of Sandra and Curtis brought her out!! Do hang in, Vickie!

I hope everyone has a good night. I really seem to want to munch on something tonight, so I made fruit salad. Maybe I'll have a glass of milk, also. So virtuous!

Night all,
Rhonda

hi there, vickie. i'm so glad to see you. i miss you. i think 15 minutes on the treadmill is good. i didn't do anything today but putter in the yard. i'm getting heck of a tan, though.

rhonda, we munched tonight on peach crisp. it was core cept for 3 pts of splenda brown sugar sub. it was pretty good. (maybe i'm desperate, eh?)

picture trail deleted our photo for some reason. i'm trying to get it back on now. i don't know what happened. if you see it, you know i got it back. if not, oh, well. life goes on.

ontarget 05-17-2007 01:18 AM

got it! i think picturetrail had deleted it to get me to check my account. it was expiring the 20th. i have updated and am good to go another year. life is good.

Suposed to have a game here tonight but it is cold and raining , well see>
I am paining my kitchen , I went to the store last night and I picked out a buttersqash yellow. Very cheerful and I strated last night . It looks great . I also bought some paint for my bathroom. I picked out some flowers with my girls too . It will give us some "us" time over the weekend:)
Have a great day everyone !!!!

Morning chickies,

Sandra - you look adorable (curtis too of course) and I love the 'garden' pic and I am truly honored to have the lovely froufie in the garden - how cute! (I am also thinking of adding one to my garden someday!)

Vickie - glad to see you are around - I think 15 minutes is PHENOMENAL and a good start - even that little bit will do some good and before you know you will be able to add a few minutes here and there.

Well we ended up at the chinese buffet last night - courtesy of little ds (his favorite place) - to celebrate his aikido exam (going for an orange belt) - okay this was just the test - I said do we go out again when you get the belt - of course he says :D

So at 3:30 am dh and I are suffering from the 'Revenge of the Chinese Buffet" - yes both of us w/rumbling tummies, tossing and turning for a few hours. Needless to say I could barely get up this morning (and had to forego washing my hair) - and I was quite late to work.

Come in to find TWO BIG BOXES in my office - one labelled Cherry and the other Blueberry. Well it seems Denise (our resident office baker) felt bad that I had missed the pies on Monday so she baked some just for me! How sweet is that? Of course I teased the team a bit but decided to share one with them (cherry) and the blueberry (my favorite) will be coming home with me - yes I shall definitely have to try a piece - but will try to make it a small one?

I am looking forward to being off tomorrow and a four day long weekend - turns out little ds has a PD day tomorrow so he is home too - looks like it won't be a 'frouf' day but a 'mom and ds' day as he is making plans for us it seems :D Maybe we can visit the tulip festival together and have lunch out?

Still very cold and a bit gray out there - probably more rain coming our way.

Frouf

Vickie -good to see you around, 15 minutes on the treadmill is great! keep it up.
Gina- have fun painting,I truly hate painting lol

Well I convinced Jim that I would really like to join a gym! So were heading to the Y this weekend and taking a tour.I think I sold him. There is just so much to do and its a really large facility.Tons to do as a family as well! its a little pricey for a household mebership althought I'm pretty cheap but I think its worth it :)
Hope everyone is doing well! Had a rough day yesterday, felt like eating all the time.Jim event commented last night "whats wrong with you, your very good at night" I just dont know what my problem was then I though maybe since TOM was less than a week away that might have something to do with it? hmmm might be a connection there.
Did not feel well last night and this morning its almost 11 and cant quite eat just yet we'll see

Ah, Frouf, the Tulip festival. For those of you who don't know, Ottawa has MORE tulips that Holland does ;) It's just an absolutely beautiful time of the year.

And, Frouf, I'm headed your way in a few weeks. I'll send details privately.

I'm working part of today, then I too am taking four days off. I have to read some student work, but it won't be too onerous. I'm going to work in the garden and maybe do some painting.

I hope you like the buttersquash paint, Gina. Sounds nice. I have a chili pepper red wall and parrot green lower cabinets! Before we sell in two years I'll have to paint those lower cabinets I guess ;)

Rhonda

Taking a break from painting . It looks beatiful :) I willpost a pic when I am done if you would like to see . I use to work as an interior and exterior painter for many years . Family owned bussiness. I have to say it saves me alot of money and I always find work to do ! lol
This is a facelift of happy colors in the kitchen . It was just whits and frankly boring . I am OP today and doing great ! I am eating a nice protien meal every morning( Thanks Tiki ) !
Well off to paint ..........

Tejas 05-17-2007 05:09 PM

So far so good today. Totally Core except for some brazil nuts and almonds.

I'm planning to have chicken breasts, broccoli and salad tonight, so I should really be able to make it. My water consumption is also good. The missing piece is exercise, so I'll see if I do anything about that !!!
