Good morning. Of course, I posted on last week's by accident. Here's what I typed:

Vickie, be careful. Don't get out any more than needed. Remember to "Stop, Look, and Listen" as Linda posted on the other thread.

Coco, that did make my day but I kept thinking, "Why was he watching me?" I was shooting wayyyyy below my average.

We're heading out to run errands in a bit. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with so much to do. I know folks who have jobs and still get everything done after work don't understand how retired folks can feel pressured. Now that I think of it, I don't understand it either. I guess I'm spoiled to not having much to do at all.

Vickie, let us know what you find out at WW if you get to go. I'll do the same tomorrow night.

Rhonda, hope you're out there having a great day and are feeling better. I had a short bout with allergies but took Benadryl. (That's prob why I didn't have strength to shoot very well.) Life goes on.

Hi! I'm here... doing well this week so far. My losses with Core have really motivated me to stay on program.

Okay.. well that's not true... I've been getting dizzy during my workouts for the past two days. So much so that I've not been able to continue. I've never had this problem before, so I'm a little concerned. I've been told that I should probably eat before I work out, but I workout at 5am so making breakfast before then isn't gonna happen. Tomorrow morning I'll try a piece of fruit and some water, hopefully that will help me out a little.

Sandra I'm jealous! That retired life! My mom is retired as well and feels like you do. Luckily I keep her busy running errands for me! (Kidding kidding! Well sort of! I don't keep her busy ALL the time, but from time to time I will ask her to do something for me. She doesn't mind).

Cammie, by all means eat something and drink plenty of water before working out. I don't know how hard you're working out. Are you sweating a lot and getting dehydrated?

lol about keeping your mom busy. I'll bet she's enjoying doing things for you.

Hey Chicks! I've been out running errands and going to WW since 9:30 this morning. We just got home. I'm all set for the ice storm. I lost .4 this week and I'll take it happily! That's darned good for me with nothing but lifestyle exercise.

Jim had PT today and he is in pain. We don't have to go out again until Wednesday for his Dr. appointment and more therapy. Good thing too since the ice will be here again soon. I'm sick of it!

I have to go get organized and sit for a while. I was darned tired of being in my coat and shoes so long.

I hope you are all on program. I didn't eat until 1:00 and I was starving since I'd had no breakfast or lunch. I didn't eat Core but it was close and I only ate until satisfaction.

Coco, can you pretend you are a newbie?

Sandra, they got rid of those weird Core snack rules that they implemented last year. Now we are just back to the original Core program. I heard that there are no more zero point foods for flexers but my Leader didn't mention it. I have to read my materials that I got. They are giving all new material starting yesterday. I got a new point slider that will fit in your purse and doesn't have to be flipped over like the other one did. I still use mine to calculate my WPA's and AP's. They launched the new program early to help those of us trying to lose through the holidays.

Rhonda, I hope you are feeling better.

Cammie, I understand not wanting to eat that early before your exercise but if you are getting dizzy, your body is trying to give you a strong message. Could you stomach a hard boiled egg? A little protein and some water like Sandra said might help. Remember you fasted over night so you have no energy to exercise.

Gotta go Chickies. I'll be back later.

Hi All:

Oh yes, Cammie, eat and drink something!

And, Coco, that's good advice from Vickie, I think. Just pretend you're a Newbie!! Or at least go back and do what a newbie would do. Write everything down and consult the list!!

I've been pretty good all day. I'm feeling better but not cured yet. I'm going to try nasal spray for a direct assault on the sinuses and the Eustachian tubes. We'll see if that works.

Have a good night all,

Rhonda

Vickie, thanks for the update. I did go grocery shopping and bought some Core foods. And--Now get this!--I stayed on Core and did not snack on anything decadent.

That's a big accomplishment for me. I've not been denying myself anything at all lately. I can be soooooo good and I can be soooooo bad.

Rhonda, I'm glad you're getting back to your feisty self. I don't like your being sick.

Coco, thinking like a newbie just might be the cure. I'm going to try that, too. Thanks, Vickie.

Now I did make something for dinner that's not Core but it's really good. Our friends told us yesterday how to make it. It's a chicken pot pie. You all may already know how to make it, but if you don't, here it is:

Easy Chicken Pot Pie (Not Core)

2 cans Veg All Veggies (drained)
2 cans chicken breast (drained and rinsed)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 frozen pie crusts

I also added 3/4 teaspoon Accent and some salt/pepper, but my friends didn't tell me to do that.

Stir all together and pour into 2 pie shells. (You could use 4 pie shells and make double crust pies) Bake at 375* about 25-30 minutes.

Curtis said this was the best pot pie he's ever eaten. He's taking the 2nd one over to our neighbors for a Christmas present. They gave us a homemade pecan pie Friday night. (We ate the whole thing in 2 days.)

So...I'm very depressed. I'm now getting the blue screen of death on the new dell desktop that they sent me.

What kind of desktops do you all have and can you recommend them?

Morning All:

Vickie, I have a Dell and have essentially no trouble with it. Maybe you should get a professional over to look at it? Of course, the ice needs to melt first!!

I've got a temperature of 101F again. I'm going to put cold compresses on my neck and shoulders and see if I can bring it down...

Back to bed for a few hours....

Rhonda

Afternoon chickies
Vickie I just bought a HP....the first tower we got with the package crashed within two weeks of getting it. But, we had no problem replacing it.
Sandra If you replaced the pie crusts with mashed potatoes it would be closer to core too..I dont believe the soups are core are they>?
Vickie when you mentioned the Froufs roast I had to put a roast in my slow cooker..but I just add one can of beef broth and one can of mushroom soup and some spices to mine..its sooooo good.
Rhonda I hope you feel better soon,,wow you have been sick.
Melissa we want to see baby pics ....cant wait to see you back here but you know if you think you will have time to visit here after the baby comes...haha...sorry...im chuckling over this one..
we are expecting more snow tomorrow..oh cant wait..NOT
you guys will prob think Im nuts but Im thinking about re-doing my christmas tree. I bought the LED lights for it this year and I HATE THEM!! too bright for me. I like them outside but on my tree..uhggh I love to sit with the lights off and just enjoy looking at my tree..I cant do it this year..I get so disappointed. SO this weekend Im going to hunt for some mini regular lights and re-do it...Im doing it when dh is gone to work...he agrees with me but I told him Id wait till after xmas to buy new lights for next year but its really really bugging me....so........should count for a few AP shouldnt it??

Hi Everyone
Well I went to WW last night. I gained 2.2 lbs.
We met in our new WW center for the first time.
But alot of people were having a gain with these new scales. There was a couple that had a loss. The leader said give them a couple of weeks to get the bugs worked out. Our scales that we were using didnt measure like these.
And the only thing that our leader said that they changed was on core. That now instead of them saying only to eat certain things for a snack. We now can have any core food for a snack. I havent gotten time to read the book they gave us last night. In fact they gave us too. The welcome book. And then another on about kick start. It has some recipes in it. And a guide to take to the store.
TEJAS Hope you are feeling better. Drink plenty.
VICKIE did you get your computer fixed yet. How is your weather. Did you get anymore ice storm. Hope not. Hope hubby is doing ok.
ONTARGET Congrats on staying all core. You know when I am away from home. I do much better. But as soon as I get in the door. It's like ok. What can I grab and eat. And most times I am not even hungry. And I grab stuff that isnt good for me.
Well I am going to get off here for now.
Hope everyone is ok.

Feeling yucky. Thanks for the reminder to drink, Coco...I actually had not had anything to drink for almost 6 hours! Really stupid!

Patti, I'm with you on the LED lights. I like the others better. I figure for the short time I have lights up, I won't be increasing global warming too much!

I went to work for 1/2 day and now have no energy. I think that the nasal spray is working better than the decongestants did...interesting...

Night nite,
Rhonda

Rhonda, have you been to the doctor? Are you drinking juices? I hope you get that fever down quickly.

Patti, cream soups aren't core, but you're right about mashed potatoes making the pot pie closer to core. I guess they would be core if you only used one can of creamed soup then counted the calories for it. Good idea.

Vickie, I have a Dell. Most of the time things go well, but it has its moments of blue screen.

Coco, I think Dr. Phil talked about what you're saying about coming in the door and beginning to eat. Didn't he say something about changing things up and maybe even coming in through a different door? I'm thinking he did.

Curtis and I had gains today, too. Big ones. We did weigh in the PM instead of the AM but we also had eaten a lot.

Red face Where's Kathy and Foufy?

How come Kathy and Foufy are absent from our message boards. They use to post regularly. I so enjoyed their goings on in their life. I looked forward to their daily visits. I'm guessing their is a good reason and I have missed the post.

Hi All:

Ruth, we haven't heard from you for a while....good to see you back. Kathy was having serious computer problems and, I guess, decided it was too much trouble to post. She was also very close to her goal weight and had said something about not feeling that she was contributing. Froufy was going through a lot at home and at work, and gaining weight. She didn't want to post in that situation. I did hear from her this fall, after her cruise, and she had had a good trip. I think we all miss them very much.

I finally feel better, so I hope it lasts! I've got a very busy two days coming up, and I need my energy for work.

It's not too cold here now, but it is icy on the roads and sidewalks...but nothing like the mid-US is getting. I really hope that doesn't come our way.

The good thing about not feeling well is that I don't want to eat much. I'm hoping for a loss this week.

Have a good day...

Rhonda
